Thanks to kick starter. W101 had a kickstarter goal of 50,000 and is going to be self-published by Platinum. Their goal has already exceeded a million and counting. You go Platinum!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/platinumgames/the-wonderful-101-remastered

Platinum also has a teaser site where they're releasing 4 games, with one of the, being W101. I wonder what the other 3 will be. Please let it be Anarchy Reigns with multiplayer unlocked from the start or Mad World.

Kickstarter is currently at $1.76 million USD

There's 8 days left in the Kickstarter and if they reach $2 million we'll get the 2nd lot of story DLC

So, I don't have any interest in this game, but credit where credit is due, that logo is kickass.

Is there actually a hundred and one of them, or is this like the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill where there wasn't actually eighty-eight?
When the game starts the group is called the Wonderful 100, which does have 100 members, and the extra 1 is supposed to be the player. 6-7 of the real Wonderful 100 are story characters you get automatically, the rest need to be collected throughout the game. Tho there is also a mechanic where you basically slap a domino mask on random regular people to temporarily deputize them and fill your ranks up to 100.

That's nice, am glad everyone is excited. Will get it as long as income plays nice and still resisting entropy at the time.

No mention of Platinum's latest reveal though? Tsk tsk! Fake fans alert! ;)

Am I the only one who read this as "Project Gee Gee" and thought of Gigi, as in, the 1958 film?

Yeah, probably.

to add to that

@TheRogueWolf

In the game, when you Draw your weapons. what's actually happening in the story is that the Wonderful 100 Superheroes all look tiny but unite together to create one giant weapon to fight the giant alien bad guys, with the weapons being different depending on the shapes you draw of course

but that's where the whole "Team! Unite Up!!!" catch phrase comes from the series. because the super heroes are quite literally "uniting up"

Yes, you are the only one to think that, even though that never ever happens on the internet [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WflLpJKRLD4].

That "A Go-Go" at the end did make me think of Viewtiful Joe. Capcom still owns the right to that tho, so I'm guessing the phrase is more a cheeky callback and the only real relation is that both seem rather obviously inspired by tokusatsu series, Viewtiful Joe by stuff like Kamen Rider, while Project GG gives me Ultraman vibes.

now they're currently at about $1,814,000.00 USD dollars.

there's about 6 days left in the campaign. do we think they can raise another $186k by the of the Kickstarter Campaign on March 6 in NA and meet that $2million strech goal?

Depends. After the initial rush of backer, do Kickstarters usually peter out near the end since pretty much anyone interested in backing already has by that time? Or do they frequently get a second wind near the end if there are still stretch goals to meet?

I'm not asking anyone in particular tho. This is the first kickstarter I backed, and also the first I actually pay some attention to, so I don't know if there's a trend. So whoever can shed some light ...

It's at $1,844,000.00 USD

If they keep raising about $32k each day like they have the past few days we just might reach $2million

In my experience, there's a surge at the start, and then it steadily trickles out towards the deadline. It's very rare when a Kickstarter keeps getting donations at a steady rate.

interview with Platinum

they've just reached $1.86million USD.

the more people that back this game, the better game we get. if we reach $2million USD over these last 5 days of the Kickstarter then they'll make a 2nd Luka DLC side story for us. we already reached the stretch goal for the first bit of DLC.
The DLC they make will be free for all backers

The really big ones tend to get a second wind as they do an advertising push for "those last few stretch goals" and somesuch. At least, that was the case for the initial big game Kickstarters. Haven't paid much attention to KS since Torment came out.

Thanks for the video! Glad to see Hideki directing again after the disastrous cancellation that was Scalebound. Microsoft will never be forgiven.

Not the first time a VJ reference was made in a Platinum game. Bayonetta has dancing a go-go baby when surfing on an angel and Wonder Red is an expy of VJ. I think Joe and Red share the same voice actor too.

62 hours left of the kickstarter and they're now at $1,946,369.00 USD.
Looks like we might actually reach the $2 million dollar stretch goal and get even more DLC made :D
