Yes, because level 10s are sure to be secretly level 80 AND have T8.5+offset gear, right?
people obviously wouldnt use this service for lvl 10s.
I know, I mean what is the point allowing level 10s to do such a thing if you are just going to take them back to the faction selection and race selection screen? Not only that but... If you change race at level 80, depending on your current class and race choice you are VERY limited as to what you can change to effectively. Because from what I read, you cannot alter your stats. I mean, what if you are a Night elf Druid and want to become a troll? You are pretty much fucked build wise as your druid was specced out for something entirely different then shaman has to offer
...this isn't a paid class change. It's a paid faction change. You pay to switch your faction to the opposing team. You're restricted to races which can be your currently class. If you're playing a Paladin alliance side and want to change to Horde, you can only pick a Blood Elf. If you're a Shaman for the Horde, you can only switch to Alliance and be a Draenei (until Catacylsm which opens up a whole wealth of new race-class combos. Tauren Paladin hooooo!)

Yeah I don't care really I don't play MMORPGs :/
Which of course begs the question of why you read the article.

So anyway yeah, faction changes, good stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens the Battlegrounds nerdrage. It's currently "OMG you're all noobs! Horde/Alliance always win because they know how to work as a team! Can't wait for the faction change so I can leave you noobs behind!" (cleaned up of course).
I'm looking forward to the slew of "OMG I should have never should have never changed factions, you're all nooobs! My old faction knew how to work as a team!"

Such a lovely cycle of glorious bile :)

UPDATE: The changes are live in North America but apparently will be delayed at least a week in Europe. In a post on the World of Warcraft European forums, Blizzard poster Wryxian wrote, "It is not coming today, tomorrow or this week, or probably next. However, plans can change though, but this reply should give you a much better idea of when it is probably coming and should help you to better plan in advance, should you wish to do so."
His lack of crocolisk references depresses me.

So, do all your characters on that particular server get switched over? Or only one character?

One character per usage I assume.

Same, but if you have nothing helpful to add to a thread you shouldn't post at all. It tends to annoy people.

Faction change. Faction. as in from alliance to horde, not Druid to Shaman, if you're a nelf druid then you can change to being a tauren druid, change your looks and or name if you so wish and nothing more.

So 30$ for an Alliance Tauren?
Article said:
Characters must be at least level ten to be eligible to change factions and while players can choose the race of their newly-factioned character, they can only choose from races that are normally available for their character class.
Reading comprehension. It's gooooooood stuff.
Yeah, just skimmed it. I don't play Wow anyways, so it's kinda irrelevant.
So you don't play WoW and you didn't bother properly reading the article...but you still felt the need to post? I don't wanna seem mean or anything but that comes off as kinda silly.

You ever notice how, if you tell an Alliance player you play Horde, they're all like "meh, no big deal," but if you tell a Horde you play Alliance, it's like you ran up and kicked their dog?

Man, what's up with that?
Nah I've seen it go both ways. The Hordes who couldn't care less don't even speak out to begin with.

Eh, I have to disagree. Almost every single thread started on which is superior is one of three things:

A Horde character.
A Horde character's Alliance alt trying to make Alliance players look stupid.
An Alliance character's alt trying to avoid some of the flame.

I hate to say it, but for all the immaturity the Horde accuses the Alliance of having, they spend a LOT of time trying to smear us Alliance types.

Actually, this is a masterful move by Blizzard. Faction changes are not NEEDED. They don't bring ANY advantage to the player. You don't need to buy them and don't benefit from them in any specific way. So Blizz can charge tons of cash for it and nobody can really call them out on it. Nobody is entitled to a faction change in any way, and even if they have to switch they can always reroll a new character.

And belive me, a LOT of people will pay this price. Blizz just found a new way to print money and the best part is that the plan isn't evil. I'm honestly glad for them.

Its because Alliance know they are superior, and hardly care. Horde feel threatened when near the aura-of-awesomeness that alliance players have, and become insecure.
