Huh, I didn't know calling someone a *****, saying they're a stupid "kid who sucks dick" despite not knowing their age and being all round aggressive was how to be a bigger man in a debate. Guess you learn something new every day.

I really can't see why people have such a big fuss about some of the things WoW does. The free level 90 is going to be a godsend with how tedious it already is to level to max, and all the micro-transactions seem to be completely and thoroughly useless besides looking cool. Totally looking forward to WoD and I can totally get behind the changes they're making.

Yay Alliance! I ended up getting back into WoW after playing some Hearthstone. I hit the level cap for the free version and it's still as fun as I remember it being. I'll probably end up buying the upgrade to unlock the rest of the game since it's like 20 bucks and I could probably hit 85 by the end of the free month. Dunno if I should shell out the extra ten or not on MoP though.
If you had fun with it? Absolutely. I, myself, can't stand the changes they made, nor the reasons behind them. But if you can roll with it? MoP is more of the same, with an interesting looking new class. Storyline, not so much.
And I admit, the pet battles sounded interesting as all hell.
I'm pretty easy to please, I just want to experience all the content I missed out on since I stopped playing in like late 2008 early 2009 I think. A bit after WotLK came out. I was still leveling in Outland at the time. Didn't even start playing wow until like 2007.

The bigger man bit is from me not continuing to feed him and walking away. I started calling him a fanboy (or, in exact words saying he's "Sucking WoW's dick") after he jumped to attack after I casually mentioned ESO, then he jumped all over the other. And if you throw a fit cus someone likes something you don't, then you're a kid. I don't care if you're 80.

But, I see your points, I do. But I disagree. Yes, the insta-lv 90 is much more convenient and less tedious, agreed. But if you just want to jump to lv 90, and let WoW play the game for you, why are you paying them? Shouldn't they, instead of charging players to skip the "boring" bits, make the boring bits LESS boring? And agreed, most of the MT's are vanity, which, fair, but they're still MT's in a paid game. It's a nit-pick, but I'm paying them to play, why should I pay them to have a cool thing? What they did before? "Buy this pet, proceedes go to charity, and you get an exclusive fluff pet." That was awesome, and kudos to them.

Dude, more power to you if you love the game. I fell out of love with it when it stopped being about the community, adventure and fun, and started being about "Let's just find ways to get as many subs as possible, fuck the ones we have." Which incidently started around the time Activision bought Blizz. Or, Vivandi, but you get the point.
They did a complete overhaul of questing recently enough where I feel it'd be wasting resources to keep trying to go back to the old stuff, especially when so may people are far more interested in endgame than questing (most people I play with downright hate it, though I don't mind it), and it's unfortunately not a problem that can really be fixed with "throw more money at it."

I'm perfectly fine with criticizing the game, because there are most DEFINITELY criticisms to be made, but it seems like too many people demand unreasonable things. As big as the WoW team is there's only so much they can realistically do.

True, true, but it just smacks of laziness and wanting to cover up a problem, not fix it. It'd be hard and expensive, but it could be done. Or, they can just admit they've gone as far as they can with WoW, or backed themselves in a corner, blow up Azeroth, and start a new MMO, be it in a different era of Azeroth, or even in a different world in the canon. Honestly, that's what I thought they were doing with Cata.

And yeah, no doubt. I've seen people demanding some insane things as well. I just miss how it was, with the focus being on, as said, the community and the journey. I remember when having a mount was legendary, or how cool it was to have to actually hunt your first pet, or quest for your minions as a warlock. And I don't see the point of removing hunting for your pet and summon, if not to pander to the people who wanted to get to endgame without working at it, be it because of real life or laziness.

Like I said, I fully admit I'm jaded and shaking my walking stick about the "old days", but then they do stuff like this, and it just makes me shake my head.
I'm probably equally jaded in the opposite direction, but seeing as I'm still having fun with it, a lot of OTHER people are having fun with it and they aren't doing any business practices with the game that I find scummy, people seem a lot more angry about it than they reasonably should be.

Let's take this from the top:
"Boring hand holding Slog" is my opinion. Period. Doesn't mean I hate it. And it's fact it's become WAY more hand holdy over the years.
"Pathetic" The actions they're taking here, trying desperatly to inflate their numbers and strait lie to people is pretty pathetic. That says nothing about the game.
"Dick sucking kid." I never called him a Dick sucking kid. HE did. I said he was sucking off Wow, which by screeching how WoW is so much better than ESO and I'm a fucking idiot for bringing it up, yeah, he's kinda being a fanboy. Yes, I called him a kid, but as I said above, the moment you throw a fit cus someone likes something you don't, you're a kid. I don't care HOW old you are.
"Ta *****" is a quote, granted, an obscure one, but still. But then, this is the place that demonized Phil Fish (prick though he may be) for quoting Futurama, so...
"Assholish vibe" While I AM an asshole, self-proclaimed, that has nothing to do with how I "Hate WoW" or anything to do with this, other than me responding to being attacked.
"Jumping down his throat from the get go" I had nothing to do with him til he started with me.
And as for the rest, I wanted NO discussion. I have no opinion on if ESO will kill WoW or not, and I don't care. I stated my opinion. Then he jumped all over me. Love how you've ignored EVERYTHING he's done, or anything else I've said here.
You're coming off as either his fussy mom, or him on an alt (seeing as he suddenly went all quiet). Looking at the posts, it's more likely he just called you in to defend him, since he can't seem to manage that.

And as for "poor conduct" how bout how you start attacking me for something that has nothing to do with you. Cast the first stone, and all that.
Phrase of the month "throw a fit"? Maybe it was wrong of me to jump on you for mentioning ESO. I assumed (as you did with my relationship to WoW and how I feel about the game) that you were saying ESO is a wow killer. Which is something I'm tired of hearing from any game because it's a fantasy that will never happen. As it's been said a million times in other threads, the only thing that will kill WoW is itself and evidently it is as the subs are dropping quicker than ever. I too come from vanilla so you're not some jaded veteran who sees what I don't. I agree with most of what you have to say, even if you blatantly warp a quote of mine into something it wasn't.

What you think I said:"Fuck you, I don't have to defend this"

What I actually said: " I don't need to defend shit because most of what you say is true."

Funny ain't that? Anyways, opinions on WoW aside. I went quiet because I have other things to do, I'm not lurking the thread to have a debate over something so trivial. You dislike the direction WoW is going, as do I for the most part but I still play it. Big fucking whoop. You got warnings because you straight up insulted me when all I did was mildy "jump on you". Not once in my original post did I call you a cock sucker or a fanboy of any sort. I only resorted to insults when it was obvious you had no intention of being civil. So now with that I am officially done and I apologize for insulting you. I have no intention of continuing this argument, if you want to stay heated over it, fine.

Also, Shanicus is not someone I know nor my "alt". Merely the voice of reason between two apes flinging shit at each other.

What the chart don't say is how many are active. I suspect they are making a big deal out of characters that were made, because the 4th quarter of 2013 is showing a very depressing number of people who have quit. Notice this statistic also counts trial accounts.

Never have they made a fuss over character counts. The fact they are doing so now, suggests the actual subscriber count is making them sweat now. I can't wait to see just how many they lost since the in game store went into effect.

Erm..

I'm pretty sure there's only about 193 countries in the world. Maybe just over 200. But no way is there 244.

Long live Velen, prophet Bright.

We salute thee, pillar of Light!

(Although I expect the Draenei and the Alliance as a whole are going to get to eat from the poop bowl this expansion as well)

WoW is a game with plenty of problems and has begun to age about as well as a slice of salmon in a sauna, but I must say that some of that magic is still there. Diminishing, but there.

I'm still playing it since launch and it reached the point where I just want them to release the expansion already..I'm tired of farming Siege of Orgrimmar.

Pretty psyched about Warlords of Draenor to be perfectly honest.
