It's all there in the title. What do you think is the worst cartoon currently airing on television?

Max and Ruby AKA the show that prompted this thread.

My dad's girlfriend has a three year old son who likes to watch it when he's over here. It may seem like cheating to pick a toddler's cartoon, but believe me when I say that Max and Ruby is inane, cheaply animated and badly acted even by those low, low standards. The only explanation I can think of for why a show this terrible exists is that the creator wants to punish any parents being forced to watch this crap with their kids.

[sub]PS: Before anyone says My Little Pony This Title Should Really Have a Colon, please save it for another thread. I'd rather this one not devolve into yet another pointless internet slap-fight.[/sub]

[sub]PPS: There seems to be a misunderstanding with a few people. I'm asking you not to say MLP, not as a fan of the show (although I am,) but as someone who would rather avoid the inevitable shit-storm that it always kicks-up. If I didn't think it'd result flame-war, I'd have no issue with people saying MLP. Hard as it may be to believe, I myself can in fact cope with the knowledge that not everyone likes what I like.[/sub]

[sub]PPPS: Just to be clear, it doesn't have to be a kid's show.[/sub]

Hmm I actually have to think about this. I was gonna say the new stuff on cartoon network, but most of it's actually pretty decent stuff.

Wait, I got it. The Wolverine anime:

You could say I'm cheating, if you qualify anime and cartoons as two separate things, but I don't they're both animation and in my eyes, both cartoons. Plus I can't think of anything else.

Oh and as for the anime itself, well I wonder who thought it was a good idea to have an anime about Wolverine that completely disregards almost everything about him as a character. It goes deeper than him looking just wrong, granted his appearance is a part of why it doesn't work, but it's not the only reason.

So. Many. Shows.

Kid's shows were alot better back in the early 90's, grew up on DBZ, BeyBlades, Digimon, Thomas The Tank Engine, Sam and Max. (I did anyway.)

Now its all this educational crap like Dora The Explorer and shit.

At least they got his claws right.

OT: Not really sure what to say on this, but the cartoon that just makes me curl is Chowder. Horrible voices, horrible characters, horrible jokes, you get the idea... The voices could be an issue only because it's dubbed to norwegian here, but to me it stands as a valid point

I don't really watch a lot of cartoons, so I can't really answer. I see a lot of people talk up Adventure Time, but the animation looks pretty damn terrible.

Wishful thinking. Probably won't happen.

Can't say I enjoyed Beyblade. It was just a bit too stupid for me. Underground dreidel competitions with monsters?

But the rest of those, definitely. I loved the Sam and Max cartoon. And Thomas was great. Oh how I hate what it has become though. Remember how Thomas used to be extensive model trains that looked really impressive? This is what modern thomas looks like.

It is truly horrific.

This pretty much sums up my sentiments. There are so many bad cartoons on TV nowadays. You know now that I think about it this is probably what happens when almost all the cartoon talent was used up in the 90s and early 2000s. Batman: The Animated Series, Samurai Jack, and Toonami just to name a few. God I miss those times.

Nowadays we have crap like: Hero 108 (most irrelevant title ever), Chowder, Problem Solverz, and I can't even believe someone came up with this next one let alone that I have to type it (gulp) Almost...Naked...Animals. GOOD GOD! That has got to be not only the worst name I've ever heard but the worst idea ever.

However there is perhaps one offender that is worse than that. I speak, of course, about...Spongebob Squarepants. Now I'm hesitant to admit this but I liked the older episodes. The show used to be funny in an almost looney toonish sort of way. Now it's just a few steps above humor for complete morons.

max and ruby is for super young kids. So your criticisms are based on he fact you're way too old to be watching.

OT Problem Solverz. One of the most horrendous art styles I've ever seen. The pace is off and the stories fall flat considering the target demographic and time slot.

I know, it is awful what happened. Thankfully, most of the original episodes are on Youtube, in both English and American narrations. That way, you can choose if you want Ringo Starr or George Carlin as your voice actor! I'm not sure either are particularly suited to children though....

Here, it will soothe the pain.

OT. I can't speak for Americans, since I don't have Cartoon Network, but in Canada, Teletoon seems to be doing pretty well. Anything done by the 6Teen Crew is pure gold, we still get Justice League reruns, The Clone Wars, and Futurama.

And, if we're feeling nostalgic for 90's shows or earlier, we have Teletoon Retro as well.

agreed. this show is beyond....wtf

It seriously makes me almost get sick to my stomach watching it because it is so wtf

Also, just something i found funny, this thread was made by a MLP lover...

branching off to try and fuel the hate towards another cartoon besides your own OP?

but there are alot of cartoons out there now a days that are either horrible break offs or are such educational biast bullshit that it completely defeats the purpose of the cartoon, my little brother begs me to put on power rangers/the old xmen from 1992 instead of the crap that is on now a days.

seriously whoever used to make cartoons needs to get the fuck back in the business and start making good shit again, i just watched freakazoid a few weeks back and sweet jesus do i miss shows like that.

Isn't the show MEANT to make you stupid? If so, I should be mentally handicapped.

My money is on squidbillies. TEheheERRIBLE SHOW. I know it's meant to look poor quality but I don't think that's an excuse for over-used character animations. The jokes are pretty half-assed too.

Oh my giddy aunt...

What the hell did they do to you, Thomas?! Where's the narration by Ringo Starr/George Carlin? Where's the actual physical models?! Why the hell are you TALKING?!

Also, what the hell's up with the morals they're trying to teach? Do stupid things because of peer pressure?
