No real woman in existance, has completely matching underwear, ever. If they're stupid, their underwear will match on very few occasions. No woman in any job that serious, goes round wearing a entire firetrucking matching set of underwear!
Especially not one who is supposed to be a hardcore CIA agent!
Wait, what? Only stupid women can have matching underwear, and then only rarely?

Now, I agree about the heels, and that it's unlikely (not impossible) for her to be worried about matching underwear, but I don't see the problem with matching underwear in general.

I'm disgusted by the fact that I share a planet with people who think there can ever be a thing as TOO MUCH fanservice.

Behold! The most blatant showing of Fan Service ever in an anime!!!

OK, all kidding aside, I'm surprised no one has mention THE ecchi manga out there. The ecchi manga so bad, it would literally be not safe for work for me to show you any image from the manga. The ecchi manga with so much fanservice, there are manga with less ecchi that gets labeled as hardcore pornography. I am, of course, talking about My Balls by Harada Shigemitsu.

What's the plot for My Balls, you ask? Well, average boy gets Lord of all Hell trapped in his right testicle. In order to free her, demons try to make said main character, well... rub one out. Hilarity ensues. And no, I can't put any pictures of said examples of fanservice because I will get banned for posting pornographic content. THAT'S how blatant it is.

Mass Effect 3: Citadel DLC

It's not sexualized like almost everything else shown here but it is still blatant fan service. Cheesy plot, all your favourite characters, lots of jokes (many of which break the fourth wall), all around silliness, you even host a party for everyone!. Yeah it was pretty awesome. Made purely for the fans.

The Citadel DLC is fanservice (and DLC) done perfectly: I fucking loved everything about it, from the Normandy's crew arguing the merits of the Hammerhead vs the Mako, to the NPCs on the Silver Strip complaining about problems you find in multiplayer, like the godawful random rewards system (NPC to supply officer: "You're the reason we're losing this war.").

OT

Sucker Punch: Yeah yeah, gratuitous panty and cleavage shots - get out of the fucking way, you're blocking the steampunk Reichswehr zombies!

Also F.E.A.R 2: It's not particularly offensive, but it is quite noticeable how the entire squad is fully armoured bar the single female character, who just has a sleeveless shirt and flak vest that exposes her midriff.

Final Fantasy X-2 could have been a good game if it wasn't for the oversexualization of the characters. The story would have still blown goats, but at least I wouldn't have been embarrassed to play it.

Okay, guys and gals and everyone in between: I raise you one Gantz, the manga.

The chapter title pages often feature a sexy woman who's not in the chapter at all, wearing either very few (if any) clothes, or a skintight outfit. Though to be fair, I need to mention that the skintight outfits are what every character, male and female, wears in the actual manga.

But in one chapter in volume 12, the title page girl is bikini-clad and on the beach. See, the title page is also a poster that appears in one panel where we can see it hanging on a wall.
This is interesting to me because I've only ever seen the anime, and none of it came off as fanservice. All the nudity in that show always came off as "uncomfortable" which I thought was how the anime was trying to make me feel the entire time. Even the full on sex scene in the anime wasn't "sexy" at all, it was akward and kind of sad.

Was the manga that different? or am I just not remembering the anime well?
Well, I suppose the anime didn't have title pages, so that's why.

As far as the sexy fanservice goes I have to say Daenerys Targaryen from the HBO Game of Thrones show.

In the book she's supposed to be 13 or something. But in the show she's like 26 and up. and they did that so she could be naked on screen. Even though her character is still written as a dumb emotional teenager.

an adult acting that way is stupid and it makes her unlikeable (Same with Rob Stark)

So there's my example of bad fanservice dragging a show's quality down.

I'm genuinely surprised the big one has never come up. Perhaps one of the worst cases of fan service due to its effect on the internet.

I'm talking, of course, about Krystal Fox.

FFS! That is nothing but constant fanservice!

Every single lead female in it is dressed like a tart.
Every. Single. One.
Most the females extras were dressed like tarts too.

The only person who is'nt a pathetic, very insulting, joke, is Emma Frost, who dress' like a tart in the comics.

The supposed CIA agent, she takes her clothes off to reveal a matching underwear set, with stockings and garters. And 6 inch stilletos. While she's supposed to be on a stakeout. Good luck running or doing anything, in those ankle breakers.

She'd be more likely to be wearing a black bra, pink knickers, black garter belt, and some tan stockings.
Or a bra, knickers and tights, none of which match.
Women who work for the CIA have no time to piss about with matching underwear sets!

The entire scene is desperate, gratuatous, and retardly cretinous!
It's contrived to get the cia lady in her completely unlikely underwear, no other reason!

Never mind being set in the 60s, that film looks like it was MADE in the 60s.
By a cheap, very sexist, z rate company, who made titilation or porn films!
Oh God...I thought I was the only one that found that weird. I really hated the way they handled Emma Frost in this film; even if she does dress like a stripper in the comics, she does fuck all of importance in the film, since she pretty much spends most of her airtime in a fucking prison.

Also, this film is set in 1962. Miniskirts weren't even invented then, so there's no reason for them to be wearing them here (unless it's some kind of "alternate universe" thing where, for no apparent reason, they were invented four years earlier).

I like fanservice if it fits the premise, the intended audience, or if it's used as a tool for beauty and drama.
Admittedly there is retarded shit, like Sucker Punch and ME3'S citadel dlc.

I don't really feel like Ikkitousen, Highschool of the Dead, and Queen's/Witchblade can really count. Those are all designed to be that way
This guy summed it up. There are shows that are intended for an audience that likes fanservice.

while stuff like Code Geass and Sword Art Online and Evangelion often have it for absolutely no raisin.
Evangelion (the original series at least) has heavy themes of sexual repression, it makes sense part of the time. You're sort of right about Code Geass, but it was kind of split between being mecha/fanservice show and being an actual serious show (of course the director was forced to make it as crazy as possible after Sunrie rushed the 2nd season)

Sword Art Online is terrible in every way, the plot, the fanservice, and all.

Mass Effect 2 = hey lets forget about everything and make a game about companions because you liked them in ME 1 right!?
Mass Effect 2 had its shortcomings, but I didn't think that was one of them. I did like the teammates in ME1 even if some of them were really boring.

It's not trying to be anything else really. I think it's the closest an ecchi manga gets to an eromanga. It onlys gets qualified as non-h cause it doesnt show the naughty bits.

That overated crap Ghost In the Shell has a stupid bimbo robot taking her clothes off to work. I saw that, then said, FTS! and left the video.
Except in Ghost in the Shell (the movie) it's not sexualized at all. There's nudity, yes, but it's not for the sake of titillation. It's actually very sterilzed and cold. Kind of like a mannequin or robot.
Yeah, the nudity was fine in GitS the movie because of those reasons. Besides, it's hard to find someone sexually appealing when you watch their literal birth. GitS: SAC season 1's fanservice was inexcusable though. It made no sense from a character or plot standpoint and was just distracting. Glad they got rid of it in pt. 2.

So my girlfriend is stupid? I don't know how women buy underwear and bras in clothing stores, but I always thought they came together.
From my experience, women almost exclusively buy underwear in matching sets. Now, the question is, do they then only wear them in matching sets? Again, in my experience, yes, as long as they are still available in said matching sets.

I would say that it depends on how much money a woman spends on clothing. If a woman is rich enough to do that more power to her.

Underwear can come in matching sets, but those sets can be pretty pricy depending on the store. However, most women don't bother matching them on a day to day basis, not to say that it never happens at all, especially on occasions where she will be dressed up. But since bras are expensive(I think men should go with a woman they know well bra shopping at least once. It is a true learning experience) She will most likely have a good set of neutrally colored bras, some really nice ones for dates and the like(which she will get the matching set for), and maybe a few fun colored bras(which she will get the matching set for). So for example, a woman may have a few black bras(a good neutral color for day to day wear) but a shit ton of black panties. The black bra and black panties didn't necessarily come in a set(they may even come from different stores) but they match in a way. Day to day it is more likely for a woman to worry about the shape of her underwear (say if she is wearing something strapless so she needs to wear a strapless bra, of if she doesn't want to show panty lines she will wear a thong). And as for color she would probably be more concered with if it will show through her clothing, than if the bra and panties match.

So yes, I can see how someone could think that the matching thing is contrived. I don't agree that it is stupid to match ones underwear at all. It's sorta nice to match on special occasions.

I read that when I was 16. Then I decided to read the Darkness sequel and it became porn *shiver*

OT: Fairy Tail got really bad. Like, Ezra-is-stripped-down-and-nearly-raped-by-a-tree bad. People have mentioned Highschool of the Dead, but that was incredibly tongue-in-cheek so it gets a pass in my book. Plus, it was just so stupid, like 80's action movies.
