Would a NTSC copy of Fallout: New Vegas work on a Pal console?

A kind family member of mine decided to order me a copy of Fallout: New Vegas' Collector's edition for christmas off the internet however they unfortunately forgot about the different region codes and ordered it off Amazon. com. Upon receiving it today I instantly noticed that it was an NTSC version of the game. So I would like to ask does anyone know whether an NTSC copy of Fallout: New Vegas' Collector's edition would work on my Pal console?

I have checked on google for related information however I can't find any site with a definite answer except for this one:

http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Region_Free_xbox_360_Games

However I'm not sure how reliable the information is. Thanks in advance for any help

A few mates of mine (well, more than a few) and I ordered a lot of copies of Black Ops off an Ebay reseller. When they arrived, they were marked as NTSC, but worked perfectly fine on our consoles (we're Aussies, for reference).

However, the reseller emphasized that they were an Australian focused company, so maybe there was something special about our shipment.

My advice is to check if there was anything on the seller's page about the game specifically being able to work in your region, or otherwise to be cautiously optimistic.

Hope this helps.

I think it will work, but depending on your TV, you might get just black and white. This will just happen if you use an old CRT TV though (as far as I have experienced)

I am not to familiar with the 360, but the PS3 is generally regionless on its PS3 games, but movies and PS2 games (if you have backwards compatibility) will still have a region block.

NTSC and PAL are pictiure formats, and not really a region encoding.

I have a Samsung Series 4 LCD TV with HDMI so would it work then?

I also read over on the IGN forums that a guy said an NTSC copy of Fallout:NV does work on a Pal console:

http://boards.ign.com/fallout/b5729/196779897/p1/

However if I have a copy from the collector's edition is it in any way different from a regular copy? (apart from the obvious extra items packaged alongside the game)

That TV should work :)

The Collectors is usually not any different, in fact most of the time the disc is the same.

Enjoy your gaming :)
