I played the game briefly at a friends house yyeeeeears ago and thought the idea was great. Recently Ive been on a bit of a retro game binge, trying out some of the classics I've yet to play, and have been meaning to pick up this game if I ever saw it at a used game vendor.
The thing that concerns me is that Im not sure if it would work on a PS3. The central mechanic to the game is that you insert a game disc into the system and you get a monster based on the game you put into it... if I remember correctly it also works with music CDs. Im not 100% sure if I would be able to do this on the PS3, and if I was able to, whether it would work with Blue Ray discs and DVDs.
It would be pointless to get this game if I couldn't make monsters on it. Anyway, would somebody be able to confirm whether monster rancher's disc-monster mechanic works on the PS3.
