You get money for it, and you never have to know about the little snot factory you helped bring into to the world, I'd do it.

Absolutely.

I wouldn't owe the kid anything, because it wouldn't be my kid, and I wouldn't be a father either. It's just semen, it's not magic.

So if they showed up at my doorstep I think I'd tell them to stop being so fucking obtuse. Their "real" parents would be the people who raised them.

I would have done. Except where I live (UK) has fairly recently passed a law where every donor child is legally allowed to trace their sperm donor father. Apologies for any offensive terminology, I'm a bit drunk. So, no absolutely not.

I would on the following conditions (some of which are optional if others can't be met):

1st: I want to be paid for doing so. I think that is more than fair.

2nd: I find artificial insemination bland and sterile. So I would gladly do it for free if I can make a "direct deposit" *wink*

3rd: If option 2 can't be met, I want all my donations to be genetically enhanced with super-human DNA. I'm sure there is some mad scientist waiting to try some experimental procedure. Let him have some fun.

4th: If options 2 or 3 can't be met, then... in addition to payment, I also want Season 5-current of House M.D. DVDs (this means that if the series continues, I'm still being given additional seasons of DVDs as they're released).

5th: If options 2, 3, or 4 can't be met (then god help us all), I want the payment mentioned in option 1 to be the sum total of one million dollars.

If options 2 - 5 are considered unreasonable or undo-able, then I supposed I'm not fit donor material.

Hmmm, possible child support, or finding some deranged kid saying "are you my daddy?"
Is it actually possible to get child support from a sperm donor? Seems like an absolutely ridiculous notion; which means that some crazy ***** in the US has already sued for it.

I'd go for it. I don't see much harm in doing it, and I get paid.
Actually, it's quite possible, and not uncommon.

With anonymity not being as big as it used to be in artificial insemination, women who have sperm donor children can in fact sue for child support, and in a lot of cases win. It's actually a pretty big in the UK and US from what I understand.

The only way I'm knocking a woman up is the old-fashioned way. Though if I did donate, I'd hope the girl would name the kid Luke, if only to set up the moment of awesome later.

I would do that. Getting paid to fap? count me in. Also i would not have any problem if 15 years from now a kid would walk up to me and say that i was his father.
yeah i think that would be kinda cool, sure i'd choke the chicken for some cash, who wouldn't?

Yes, Totally.

I'd try to spread my seed as much as I can so that when I die, my friends and family can find my spawn, sacrifice them and use their lifeforce to bring me back to life.

If getting quick cash was something I needed to happen, then maybe sure. Seeing as I am in no way strapped for cash, I would not. I also don't like the idea of having kids like that, but if I really really needed the 30 some dollars you get for doing it, maybe.

I definitely would. It's good bank, my bloodline is passed on, and I don't have to deal with the little shit at all. At the very least, some lucky child will be blessed with my intellect that way.

Especially since, at the rate I'm going, I'm going to die alone.

No - purely because in my country they brought in a law stating that the offspring have a right to be told who their biological father is, and to be given his details. Unsurprisingly, donors in Australia all but ceased overnight, and anyone wanting donations here usually has to source them from overseas. Donating sperm is one thing, but if the offspring are told who you are, it basically becomes 'a decision to have kids'. And who the hell would decide to have kids under those circumstances?

Sure, why not?

getting paid to spread my genetic legacy and fap whilst doing it? Hell, even without cash I'd still do it for the sake of petty fulfillment gained from passing on your genes on account of being an antisocial asshole.

I researched this topic from a donors point of view extensively. The truth of the matter is that most people are not permitted to donate.

I was fairly close to the point of looking for a donor bank when I found myself in a committed relationship.

I haven't asked my girlfriend how she feels about the topic, and I doubt that I will.

Truth be told, I am a bit hesitant to attempt donation. I fear the possibility of refusal and what it would do to my self confidence. Of course, to be upset about the ridiculous standards set by donor banks would be silly, but.. still.
