Would you wear Project:Glass?

Maybe if it looked cooler and wasn't voice activated, which would make me look like a crazy person if I were walking down the street with them on.

Plus, it doesn't look like they show my health bar, or show my enemies on the radar.

Looks like I gotta drop about 30 pounds to fit in that shiny silver spandex suit.

No but seriously if they can make these react like in the video than ya probably. Especially if I can also browse the web.

Would I use a piece of impossible technology just because some douchebag hipster says its cool?

No.

The technology is so far off the mark, it's not even funny. Is it supposed to implant into the brain?, because the technology to do that involves serious surgery, and might give me a visual resolution of about 100 pixels, not enough for normal everyday life. Maybe the research people should concentrate on helping partially sighted or blind people instead.

Why waste our time even commenting on this bollocks, it's herp, it's derp, it's a non-entity. If they had the technology to do any of these things, then they'd be doing a lot more with it than helping hipsters find coffee bars and leather wrist bands.

So No, I won't be signing on for iForehead (or whatever), and I won't be signing on for my hoverboard, cryogenic bed, underwater house, or the paper-less office.

No offence to anyone, esp the OP, Google and Apple just seem to think they can tell us anything and we'll swallow it.

As far as technology goes, this is deffinetly good progress. I like things that push the boundry on what is possible.

As something I would want to wear all the time; ehhh, not so much. Wearing sunglasses for long periods of time tends to be a little uncomfortable for me. Not to mention those little indentations on the bridge of the nose make you look weird.

In short, a catch 22; this device shows progress but it does seem a little impracticle.

This doesn't really seem to provide any functionality that a decent smart-phone doesn't already. Maybe it's just me, but I don't really like the idea of having messages from my friends constantly stuck to my face.

When will they let go this voice control bullshit? Nobody wants to say "computer, search dwarf porn" out loud. Direct neural control would be awesome, but voice and motion controls suck balls.

What timing - I just finished watching Dennou Coil!
Yeah, I'd use something like this. I'm all for augmented reality.

...poor Densuke. Best character in the show.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about.

So what do you think? Would you wear it?
What you think I'm some kind of retard? Fuck yes I would wear that, and then in 2 years I will wear the contact lens they come out with.

YES! in another 10 years when it actually works like advertised.
More like 50 years.

I love how goofy those ads are. Dude needs navigation to get to the music department of a store he's obviously familiar with!

No. No fucking way in hell. Fuck that. I already feel like a fast food outlet when I carry my mobile phone around with me (calls every 2 minutes). Theres no fucking way im wearing that thing.

And you no what? No one else will either. This thing will be released in 2 years time as a prototype and fail. Then, in 2025, Apple will pick up on it and it will become the next iPhone. Screencap this shit, im serious. You heard it here first.

If it has a Terminator style visual theme and comes in contact lenses then HELL YEAH.

Does remind me a bit of the Eye Phone from futurama.

Another plus would be if it actually made my eyes look cybernetic.

Yeah, I can see that.

Shit, they don't need to wait that long. They could do it a year after this thing comes out. They'll be praised for their "innovation".

Since the day I had to start wearing glasses this was my dream to where they should go!
Same here. Over a decade of waiting and finally shit's happening!

Sure it'll still be ages before it works as advertised but still, I'd be fully on board with it.

Time will tell, but if they work well, then hells yeah.

As a concept, it looks bloody amazing. The implementation is where it could be a deal breaker for me.

I like the idea in theory. In practice...I don't want an iPhone on my face. Which seems to be their target demographic for this thing.

Nah.

Perhaps would say "yes" if I wore a leather trench coat in some overpopulated Asian city while invading another corporation's facilities. Kicking ass and taking names.

But then I would probably go for augmented vision and skip the silly glasses part.
