Also, despite the game being bleak and completely Fun Starved(tm by Rockstar), where the hell is GTAIV, most of Niko's lines in that game were pretty damn good.

The comments on every article reporting the nominations contain criticisms of nominees' writing quality without being any more specific than, "What the fuck?" or "Sucked!" At least here we get people citing examples of what they think is bad writing.

But, seriously, I'd like for someone to make their case on this: How does the writing suck in that nominee you're mocking? Why do you think it sucks?

Wait, are they allowed to give the award to non-english writers, or is it solely for the US?

This being the Writer's Guild of America, they probably only include WGA members in the award nominations, so non-american writers (even English ones) are not going to show up.

Crystal Dynamics? No, they're in California. They're owned by a British publisher (Eidos), but the studio is American. Core Design (now Rebellion Blue) were the original creators of Tomb Raider, but haven't actually worked on the franchise for years now.

Yes, but it was intentionally so for reasons of funny, and if that is what tickles the WGA's bits, that's what they'll vote for.
