X-Play and their reviews

Okay now I've been wondering this for a while now whether it's just me or are my opinions of game and the ones given by those at X-play completely out of sinc (though I find Adam funny and Morgan hot as hell). They on 2 occasions managed to leave me scratching my head as well as a few others but the two most apparent being The Last Remnant and Godfather 2. Godfather 2 despite it's epic graphical failures was extremely fun to me and I think they made the Last Remnant sound much more frustrating than it actually was. I found it an interesting take on the RPG series (if you haven't played it or heard a review imagine playing Golden Sun with multiple parties on a battle field.... minus the Djinn). However they gave titles like Gears of War 2, Halo 3 and Left 4 Dead 5 out of 5. Left for dead got boring to me after a few hours, Gears of War and Halo I found to be overrated and for the most part average games (average does not mean fun).

Anybody have anything to add to this

They made the reviews based on their opinions and how others might like it. Not everyone can be covered in this though, and thats why you might not believe this view. Adam said himself in his soapbox, game reviewers dont all converse with each other and give out similar scores.

You have to remember XP is EXTREMELY mainstream. So they often rate games as what the public would say also.

Also, I liked X-Play better when they did the Bob and Steve videos.

Bob and Steve were fucking awsome. Why they stopped making them is beyond me.

If I remember correctly Bob and Steve was made using Splinter Cell 3 : Chaos Theory. Though one of my favorite games it probably got scrapped due to its age and shrinking popularity.

X Play [b/]used[/b] to be great like the rest of G4. Now, its just one really biased, unfunny review per episode and there aren't anymore characters or sketches like Bob and Steve and the Ratty hand puppet.

Meh. I've never played a game he reviewed where I didn't agree with him at least 90%.

I don't know, but it was originally supposed to be a one time thing, but it got good reviews so they made more. XPlay now chucks all comedy out the window for "interviews" which I don't care about. All I want is game reviews (which they cut down on) and comedy bits.

I loved those skits, and all the other comedy ones.

xplay is a strange show. i used to love it before the changes, still love it now but diffrently like a habbit. now they seem more mainstream because of their populartiy and that makes them more professional. but i don't know why i'm still wrighting because no one relay cares what i think or will read this post to the end

I don't watch it much anymore but I miss all the comedy scetches like the interns, ratty, canadian guy, bob and steve, drunk link, billychu, the yugioh gang, and every one else in this video and whos not. I've pretty much only watch sesslers soapbox now.

I LOVED Bob and Steve. I have pretty much stopped watching XP. I like the hosts, but the reviews are just schmeh, and the show isn't really fun anymore. I miss Bob and Steve, drunk Link, angry Stan Lee, and all their other skits.

Same here even though he likes to rag on some of my favorite games i cannot hate him for making sensible observation which after he pointed out I found him to be completely right. Plus he is funny as hell.

I agree 100% they need to leave that for their E3, CES, and GDC coverage.

gears 2 and l4d definately deserve 5 out of 5. and the godfather 2 wasnt a bad game, i agree, but the fact that i spent $60 on it and beat it in a week with getting all the achievements pisses me off to no end. also xplay and g4 were both way better a few years ago. how can video game tv only have 1 show about games? (kinda like how mtv doesnt play music but not as bad)

My god... who the fuck cares what the reviews say.

if you liked it, then it was a good game. The fact that Adam Sessler didn't happen to care for it should have no bearing on whether or not you enjoy playing it.
