okay let me make a point. the xbox applies to people that still like good games, great online multiplayer and dont have 600 bucks to spend on the core system of the PS3. granted the PS3 has lots of good games. I would like to play many of them and first and foremost i am a sony fan. BUt its so damn expesnive. and lets face it...the xboxlive multiplayer is dominating. sure we have had to make a few sacrfices like lame avatars and paying for it but its way better than sony's. The xbox, at the moment has a wider range of games than the PS3 and with the new pricing of the elite with two free, good games i see it dominating the market for a while. SO STOP WHINING!!!

its not my fault you payed extra money for a console that is failing.

and I wont even go into the way the Wii has failed me.

so in conclusion. Stop whining, why does it matter if you dont own an xbox 360? and if you do and you dislike it than go buy another system. Meanwhile I'lll be having fun on my ticking time bomb while you flail your arms about like a retard on the wii/wonder why everyone is playing such a "shit" system like the xbox.

and to be clear i am not a console fanboy. I would have gotten the PS3 but i dont have money coming out of my pockets to spend and ya know, I like to play my games with friends. But as soon as the prices drops or after all the new games come out for it, I may get it.

cant say the same for the wii
i'm kinda going to go with everyone else here and say you missed the point of what he was actually saying and just went into xbox fanboy mode

seriously read and understand what he's saying and then maybe you'll get it instead of just being a fanboy.

I actualy thought it'd be more. Out of all my friend I'd say about 75% (maybe more) of our 360's have broke in some way. And this from the people who made my Xbox which hasn't broken in 6 years (or more).

and to quote something i said earlier

"and to be clear i am not a console fanboy. I would have gotten the PS3 but i dont have money coming out of my pockets to spend and ya know, I like to play my games with friends. But as soon as the prices drops or after all the new games come out for it, I may get it. "

I would seriously buy a PS3 in a heartbeat if the price went down. My problem is that everyone on here is complaining about the xbox360. i only used Rebels Quote because there were some things that he said to me that i disagreed with. so maybe i went off on a tangent here. but seriously complaining about the 360s failure rate is not going to help. If you really wanna do something about it sign a petition like those people that didnt want L4D2. I hear its working out well. Look, just dont bother with it if you dont like it. But personally me and all the other people that take care of our systems ( and yes i am aware of the ventilation problems) will continue to enjoy the services it provides. there is a reason so many people keep buying an xbox even though it continues to break.
no you didn't even READ what he said, you just shot off on another tangent that was completely wrong and misguided.

also them saying stuff about the 360 is because thing thread is ..... drum roll please .... about the failure rate of the 360 and not about the ps3. so that would imply you didn't even pay attention to the topic at hand if you thought everyone was just saying stuff about the 360

also saying you would be willing to pay for the ps3 if it was a lower price, you've probly already paid more for the 360 cause live is $50/yr and just after a year or two you have paid more for the 360 than the ps3

Actually they did a study and the XBOX help line was the most helpful by far. Plus, your worng about the average hours played the average is 5 hours not 3 and the ps3's is 3 hours. Also its not 10%! It was 40% still better than 360 but actually reasonable

"While the number is certainly high, when you think about it, it almost feels a bit low - 45.8% of Xbox 360s haven't ever broken once, which doesn't seem to fly with all the horror stories about everybody and their mother's 360s bricking"

Yep, because as we know, You can trust those horror stories. I mean, we all know if you go to Japan all you will see is pedophiles, bukakke, and vending machines selling used panties. Because the mass of horror stories obviously is completely reliable.

I mean, it can't at ALL be that the loudest ranters are complainers, while satiated people who are happy with their product meerly sit and enjoy it. Nope, not at all.

I'm the opposite side of the spectrum. None of my friends Xboxs red ringed once. Mine Red ringed ONCE, it was an original release model, it lasted me four years. And at that, unlike when my PS3 broke down, Xbox had my xbox there and back in less then 2 weeks, no hassle, with a nice one month gold subscription AND a tasty 3 year extended warrenty. Compare that to Sony, who took a MONTH to return my PS3, whose phone service was as useful as a piece of mold fruit carved into a phone, AND the fact they only extended my warrenty one year.

What keeps me with Xbox is not fanboyism, but trust. When it comes to Microsoft's consoles, I have come to trust them to fix them. It was fun when my PS2s disk try stopped working after 2 hours of play (No prior playing before that) and they blatantly told me "You're screwed" (not in those words mind you :p) Now.. I don't trust microsoft or EA for computer games, because on THAT note, they are shady at best XD

Oh yeah both shady and I still trust microsoft a little but this shows how much they care for what they make. I would like to know what happened between the Xbox and the 360. Xbox had like no problems to the 360's many.

I would like to see the death rate on G-cubes I went through FIVE from release to Wii, and I have never had any other console fail on me ever, and as I type this I just know that the universe will get a kick out of landing a meteor right on top my gaming setup.

Well, if we do a bit of research we will learn why.

Microsoft KNEW about the RRoD well before it's release. Due to this they continued to push back the release date until they could fix the problem... BUT... Fanboys and people who can't breathe without a next gen console who preordered these systems decided to whine and cry at the continued pushed back release date, forcing Microsoft to either release, or lose a lot of investment. You can thank those retarded Halo noobs for the first waves massive RRoDing

Actually I read in the OXM that Microsoft has made a solution, The Jasper Chip. It was stated that it could decrease the fatality rate in the 360 by a significant percent (I don't remember the number). But I don't need to fear about buying another I have a life time warranty on the sucker. Free repair FTW!

Oh and mine only red ringed once and mine is first generation amazingly it ring'd this year when I got it in March '06, that's more than 3 years. In addition I had to send it to the shop 3 times (although one of the times i realized that after sending it to the shop that there was nothing wrong with it other than i had set the AV settin to HDTV and not TV. I felt stupid...

Yeah I read this and thought- well the stats are out. No wonder Microsoft was willing to make all those warranties. They must have seen the immense amount of failures coming.

Strange. I got my 360 on release day in 2005, and the worst thats happened is it took a while for the tray to open one day in 2007.

I'm getting in and out of this thread like a fucking ninja...

In my experience dealing with Sony customer support (for a computer) versus Microsoft for my RRoD'd Xbox I would rather try talking Microsoft to repair an Xbox I trashed in a blender than deal with Sony for a legitimate claim. Just my experience. And I'll say what I have in the past: building a quality product is one thing, but even the best systems break. That's where customer service is vital. I'd rather deal with someone who will fix a problem than someone who won't

And now I'm out of here before this collapses in flames.
