Well I think that this is their loss really...
Xbox live has far more users than the PSN.

2 Things: If a game is on the PC as well as a Console it is not a Console Exclusive. Just for everyone that keeps mentioning games that are on the PC (where personally I think they do better, even being a fella who barely plays his PC anymore).

The other thing being XboX Live has Halo, I'm fairly sure much of the immaturity and stigma of it comes from that. Next to Counterstrike I've never heard that many young kids talking that much trash in my life before, during, or after I was in my 360 phase.

I tend to think that Xbox Live has the least mature community anywhere.

Its contagious too. I become a total jackass when I play live. I team-kill, I grab the enemy flag and run around in circles in the middle of the map. Sometimes I'd play seriously, but the Xbox Live community just sort of transforms normal people into idiots.

Some of the people on there actually act pretty mature. They're just few and far between.

Finally, a game where the entire PS3 population can play a match at once!

Stupid jokes aside, I might agree with him but I've seen some stupid people on PSN too.

Oh, and -as it's been said- L4D requires teamwork.

You guys know its true. For every level headed guy on Xbox Live, there 3 underage trash talking KKK gangsters. I'm an Xbox player so don't go crying 'fanboy' to me.

I have a retort. Who cares.

Personally I don't like hearing people at all, because the majority of the time its too gloat or to be-little your skill
They care obviously, since they're selling the game.

i didn't say they didn't matter, i said they are not needed, there are other alternatives even if they are crap, im just sick of hearing dedicated server this, dedicated server that.

anyway, im not one for arguing so im gunna shush before i say summit completely stupid and embarrass myself to the point i wont use this site again XD
Are you speaking from the position of someone who has significant time playing games on Dedicated Servers and have come to the personal conclusion that they are not worth it?

Or is it more a case of you have a system that has very little support for dedicated servers and you just don't want to be told you have an inferior system.

Well let me clarify that the 360 is a GREAT system, great exclusives and games like Bayonetta play so much better than the PS3 version(s), then there are all the XBLA exclusives that Sony still have not amassed an adequate responded to. No reason to ditch your 360 AT ALL (though maybe stop paying XBL gold membership).

However, I suggest you get some game time with PS3 and PC games that use Dedicated Servers, approach the experience with an open mind and see if they are worth it then.

So when it comes time to renew your XBL membership, don't think just because you paid it the past few years you have to keep paying it.

God shut up. Its open beta, only the pros really want to play beta. As soon as you put it out on the main stream out come all the 13 year old whinners and dickheads. Same on every platform and every game. Only the really hard core try beta.
Beta here means demo. So it happens to not be the case here but you weren't to know. It's confusing the language they use

XBL is bigger than the Playstation network, and the majority of all people are assholes. So naturally, the network with more players also has more assholes. It's quite simple.

I'm not impressed by that point at all. What we NEED is bread, water and roughly 7 hours sleep every day and a few other nutrients, NEED doesn't come into it when we are talking about products of entertainment.

I'll tell you why you need Dedicated Servers. If you want:
-High player cap (anything above 9v9)
-Lowest latency for all
-level playing field (no host advantage)
-More choice for the user

then the only way to get that is with dedicated servers.

You don't spend $300-$400 on a system, $60 per game and $50 per year on Gold Membership and then just be happy that it works.

If you really do think that then you are the biggest sucker in the world.

But I don't think that is your case, I have a few theories for why you seem so determined to stick with XBL: comfort and ignorance.

You are comfortable in your walled garden where Microsoft "giveth and taketh away" and you are clearly ignorant of the alternatives. I don't mean ignorant as in stupid, you just 'don't know' about what the competition is offering and the millions of others in the same boat as you allow Microsoft to get away with what should never be allowed in a capitalist system by offering a worse service and charging more.

I can't just tell you, I know how good people are at ignoring things they don't want to hear, they just file any obtrusive facts in their head as "unverified" and never go to the effort of verifying them. I used to do it myself till I got an Xbox 360 and experienced XBL personally.

I'm not going to sell my 360 but my 3 months of XBL Gold has expired and I have no intention of ever renewing it, I just find it scandalous that on PC and PS3 I can have such a superior online experience and yet 360 dares to charge... for WHAT!?!?

i play PC games online, i play Wii games online, ive played on the PSN network as well, (not my PS3, don't have one, but ive used it)

im not "ignorant" im just stating Dedicated servers are not needed for online gaming, i never said it was a bad thing and i wasn't trying to start an argument about it, i know its the best for online gaming, but what im saying is, it isn't needed, their are other alternatives even if they are shit.

im not in a little Microsoft bubble, i just like the service it provides, we all have opinions and mine is that XBL isn't that bad. saying that, i also like Steam, even though i don't use it much because im a console gamer and prefer console games.

please im not trying to argue, i aint the arguing type, ive said my point and don't plan and never plan to get in a huge debate about it.

The only real difference between the playerbases is the exact content of the insults they fling at each other.
That statement doesn't hold as much water as I am sure you were hoping it would. A majority of people on the Playstation Network are serious gamers who want to take treat gaming as a sport with its own etiquiette and honor system.

I'll give you an example. When I play Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising on PSN, I can expect to be play entire campaigns with people who think tactically and are willing to work with others. Because of this, missions have a high success rate and I know I can depend on my teammates to come to my aid if I find myself incapacitated or surrounded. The worst experience I had was wehn somebody on my team decided to drive/fly all of our vehicles onto the enemy's side.

When I play the same game on XBox Live however, everything changes. People teamkill, teabag you when you're incapacitated, destroy the vehicles you're about to use, scream into the microphone, and other faggotry[/b] ridiculous things you would find in Halo or CoD. The problematic 90% consisting of 30% general dickheads and 60% people with poor social skills, ruin the game for the other 10% that do want to actually play the game right. As a result, dedicated players quit and people who are interested in the game are turned off by the lack of competent players. Hacking and griefing is also rampant. In the whole time of me playing I have only been able to complete one mission out of 30-40, and that was because I was playing with a good friend.

Unfortunately, this is what is generally considered "anecdotal evidence". Granted, it's difficult to do a good statistical analysis, since asshole-ism is heavily subjective, but the fact remains that you can't draw a conclusive decision from a single person's experience. The sample size is simply too small. In my experience, I've encountered far more irritating PS3 elitists than 360 flamers, but that's an equally invalid basis for an argument.
