Xbox Live is "More Juvenile" Than PlayStation Network

Here's a noob question from a person who doesn't own a current gen console..

Do the games have Push To Talk, or Voice Activation? If it's both, which one people use?

Also, Ben Jones really doesn't have a lot of experience in multiplayer open/closed betas, does he? People in betas always act better, because the community is smaller, so they lose atleast a part of their anonymity. They also realize that their characters/stats are going to be wiped, so they just have a laugh, experiment, and mess about.

I've witnessed this time and time again with different MMO's on the PC. The beta community is great, but at release day, they start furiously grinding, while staring at their K/D ratio, getting overly agitated over the game, and whining about how all the "New guys who came on release are assholes, I wish it was beta again, it was more fun". Of course I'm no better, I do the same thing, but I don't whine about people being dicks.

Wow, Sony lapdog calls maturity highground on the XBL community. Give me a break, gotta draw the marketing line somewhere and that's just pathetic. Gonna guess that any evidence lending itself to his conclusion prolly has alot to do with Kids are more likely to have a console that launched for a price of less than... Five-hundred and Ninety-nine US Dollars. Game sounds pretty ambitious but I'm not mature enough to play it so I guess I'll keep my 60 bucks. Wouldn't want to offend his majesty over there.

Has this man never heard of L4D...that Xbox exclusive that many people have to work together on
Still, Left 4 Dead's four player style has much less potential for griefers than 128 person teams. I mean, I hardly ever used matchmaking, I just played alongside friends.

And L4D is made for the PC primarily...

Well my friend uses PSN and after playing XboxLive with me he told me that while he considered Live to be superior in terms of the service provided it was quite lackluster in terms of fellow players, in particular the attitude these plays held toward each other.

I told that gay fag to eat a dick and punched him in the face.
That was a joke, sorry if it was offensive.

Seriously, we think they are as bad as each other, but PSN has fewer people who talk. He only plays Cod4 and MewTwo however so he doesn't have a very complete experance. Also This is second hand info, so I could be wrong about PSN.

Xbox Live gamers are usually more juvenile? Why did that even need to be said? It's like stating that "squirrels like nuts" as if it's a recent discovery.

So what do you say, Xboxers? Are you really more low-browed and foul-mouthed than your PlayStation brethren, or is this just PR-speak from someone a company that sold its soul to Sony?
More foul-mouthed? I have no idea what the fuck he means by "more juvenile".

On a more serious note, though, I do think he's full of it. The only real difference between the playerbases is the exact content of the insults they fling at each other.
Well, think about the whole "juvenile" problem. You're like, what, nine? Now, what's more appealing to you, shooting the shit out of everything in your path, or a game where you hide to be successful. I think the majority of kids who don't(or already) own a wii would purchase an Xbox due to the selection it provides. I'm not saying Playstation player are more mature, oh hell no, you'll find just as many douchebags on there, but they seem to crop up less and there aren't as many reports on PSN as their are on XBL.
The lower incidence reports on assholes could also be due to the PS3's smaller install base (unless this has changed since the price on the PS3 dropped, I haven't seen the latest statistics).

The majority of people playing on Xbox Live are foul-mouthed and uncooperative, but before you crucify me let it be known that I have an XBL subscription. Most of the folks actually working together are already in groups and you never hear the talking (friggin' party chat). Honestly, try and play any random COD:MW2 XBL game and you will see what I mean.

Now, maybe just maybe, if the 360 had a game where such cooperation was required like in MAG people would come together. Doubtful though. XBL is the spawning place of hate filled fuck-spots let loose by their uncaring parents, drunk-off-their-ass fratboys, feminist bitches, and military loons.

I hate to admit it fellow XBL peoples but for the most part we suck. Yes we. I'm not sure about the PSN but by all accounts it seems to be more... community-driven? All in all I would hate to try MAG on XBL.

END.

this is probably just ps3 propaganda, however being a 360 owner (note, not ps3) he does appear to be completely correct :(

Yeah. Because PS3's don't come with mics. Good luck with your "communication and cooperation" if half your team can't talk.

Real Life Friends of mine talk to each other about how they make fun of (Insert Minority Here) all the time over PSN. They also send pictures of random genitalia to each other. I have no idea how they get it, but thats pretty bad.

Its nothing to do with the console.
Its whether people can handle being anonymous or not. Turns out that a few Xbox members cant.

The only difference between Xbox Live and PSN is that fewer PSN users have a mic.

I bet that if everyone who bought a PS3 got a mic for free there would be just as much swearing as on Xbox live.

Let's put it this way:

My mute buttons are far more worn out on my 360 than my PS3, but that doesn't mean that I never have to use them. The Children are annoying on either console.

My new favorite hobby: putting my mic on during a PS3 match of MewTwo and putting it down, so I don't have to hear ten year olds butchering Journey songs through my TV speakers.

I have a 360 and my roommates have PS3's. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference other than a smaller number of mics on the PS network, and even then the words coming out are almost identical to anything I've heard on XBL.

If they need communication and team work in mag it will get frustrating. Playing 4 on 4 Endwar when 2 people have no mics pretty much loses you the game unless the other team are also not talking.

It is hard to plan strategies and to adjust on the battle field if people won't talk. Now imagine that on a 60 player team where only 8 of them have a mic. I can see that getting frustrating fast.

Did anyone really expect the guy to make a PS3 exclusive and say -before the game is launched- "The PS3 community is made up of inbred, bed wetting, pant shitting, mingebags"

im not a hater to either console, but id rather pay for my membership and know that what im paying for is worth it, than having something free tbh, cause anything thats free i see as not been as good as what you pay for (might not be Sonys case but you get my point)
Online play on the PC is usually free outside of MMOs, and has been for years before Microsoft ever decided to actually charge people for the privilege on Xbox. Personally, I find XBLA to be a ripoff in comparison. Sony's free online doesn't mean it has less value, just that they didn't have the same gall as Microsoft did. For example...

While online multiplayer on the 360 requires a paid membership, online multiplayer for the same game on the PC is free. L4D and its sequel are, on Steam, free to play online. Also, L4D's paid-DLC on 360 is a completely free patch on Steam--essentially Valve's PC-based native platform.

Not only is L4D not a 360 exclusive, the 360 version is the inferior version. Despite the fact that you have to pay more to get just as much as you'd get for free from the PC version.

There also seems to be fewer obnoxious kids on Steam than there are on XBLA, and that's also a plus.

(As an aside, it's a bad idea to boldface your mistakes for everyone to see them. However, editing them out won't work either. Editing in an admission of "outright mental silliness" is perfectly kosher, though.)

EDIT: Cripes, just caught that bit of bad formatting, hence my own admission of outright mental silliness. And a fix for readability.
