My only real complaint is directed toward Yooka, namely that he's naked. Really, he looks flat and lazy design-wise as it is. Throw a pair of pastel-coloured pants on him for some additional character and we're golden real!Rare. A back pack or satchel wouldn't be a bad idea either. In fact, just make him a thinly veiled black bear/Indiana Jones version of Banjo that uses a whip instead of his tongue to get around. Kthanksbye.

I think this might hit the world record of "World's Longest 'Special Thanks' Section in a Credits Sequence." And you better believe my name will be on it.

I also hope the Wii U version ends up looking decent and runs at a passable frame rate. That's been kind of a problem with most non-first party games I've played on it.

Well it's not Sly Cooper or Spyro or Jak, but I'm hope for a return of the cheesy 3D platformers from my childhood.

It's nice to see a game that's shamelessly appealing to my nostalgia for once, rather than a game harkening back to the likes of Majora's Mask or something.
Did you miss A Hat in Time?

Isn't the reason Microsoft doesn't want Rare to make a new Banjo-Kazooie game because they don't think platformers sell?

If so, I think projects like this and Shovel Knight prove otherwise.

The thing to remember is, Yooka's a chameleon - a creature chiefly known for its ability to change color to blend in with its immediate surroundings. Any use of clothing or accessories would completely subvert this. [small](And of course, the idea of a bear for a protagonist in this of all games has 'lawsuit-bait' written all over it.)[/small]

And yeah, I do think they'll actually make use of the color-change thing in the game. Maybe some kind of Sparx[small]*[/small]-style health indication. Or a stealth mode! Note the red markings on his hands, feet, horn-like head protrusions and the tip of his tail - that's probably so the player will always have a clear idea of where he is!

[small]*Spyro the Dragon's dragonfly sidekick, who would indicate Spyro's health by changing color.[/small]

Oh man, I loved the way you had to go to different connected worlds, upgrade your moves, and return to other areas to get stuff you previously couldn't.
It's like a Metroidvania, but instead of just progressing, you're hoarding! That's two of my favourite genres combined!

Let's just hope they get the characters right. The original had so much charm, but I'm confident they'll manage somehow.
