I'd sell about a dozen different, game-changing items. These would be the kinds of items you just don't leave the store without buying, but the moment someone buys one I inexplicably pack up shop and leave.

And the player spends the rest of the game wondering what it would have been like to have the Chuck Norris Railgun of Power instead of the Lincoln's Hat of Omniscience.

Food that can be consumed for stat boosts. However, it'd be fancy food, just to embarass all the grizzled space marines.

"HELLO, I'D LIKE A... A... chicken florentine."

Wax dolls, horseshoes, pieces of hair, bent needles, coat hangers, bakers' tongs, broken radios, lead pipes, aglaophotis necklaces..

You know. Useful stuff.

And of course, the Canadian Acid-Spraying Super Soaker. Any Fallout players ever find that?

Edit: And the stockboy would be a Herbert Moon clone.

In any game. I am that one NPC that sells a plot critical item that you can only get from him the item also serves no point or use outside of it's need to advance the plot.

I will also charge an outrageous sum for this item... or a favor....

a sexual one.

Grenades which looks like pokéballs and pokéballs
This comment is win.

OT I would probably end up selling completely pointless upgrades that would be available in micro transactions, like a flaming skull skin etc.
I'd sell for a high but not unreasonable price of in-game cash (so the gamer can choose between spending 79p or 60000 sickels on a sword that's purple, for example)
Basically, my target market is endgame content seekers. Large disposible income, not much worth buying any more, might as well splash out on something fancy...

Either that or I would sell rare pokéballs.
Like a luxury ball in Pokemon Ruby, I could charge stupid amounts of money for it.
Or I could pull a bike shop and charge an impossible amount of money early in the game for a master ball.

Tents. I don't know why, but it seems like everyone wants to go on a camping trip these days. In fact, I sold ten tents to one guy! He said they were for his friends but he only had three friends. Although it seemed like he was going to go camping in Poison Death Trap canyon and I understand that out there, the creatures can tear up even the best tent in a night. Lucky thing for him he had that 6-foot sword with him.

I also sell juice, but I call it my "special elixir". People buy this stuff up if you just put the right marketing spin on it, you know?

Guns, ammo and stimpacks.
I also ensure I am polite and stood behind a counter with 10 guards in plain view so I don't get killed by PCs.

"I have... information... for a slight fee of course."

I would establish a network of spies in my city and learn rich folks deepest secrets, then blackmail them as soon as I learn of somebody who would like to learn them. If my client is willing to pay more than the fellow whom he is trying to learn about, then I will sell the information to him. This way I would get to practically auction all of my information and get maximum profits.

EDIT: "I'll tell you what the post before me is selling... for 40 Gold."
