Entire industry. oh, thats quite a lot of power. im sure i would release A LOT of orders in that position, but ill just cover the main things here i guess.

1. Fix the copyright law, put proper fair use in place and return the previuos 26 year period for copyright. Possibly even shorten it to 15 years. if you cannot make profit of a item you made in 15 years youll likely never will. Let culture be culture. you had your 26 years chance.

2. Music is free download. Artists will live off live performances. (not much change since over 80% of their income is already live performance).

3. No remakes. you can make sequels, prequels, alternate universes, but dont remake same thing over and over.

4. No special editions. noone benefits from that. let everyone have same thing.

5. No preorders for digital content. preorders exist for physical content as a way to make sure a store is not out of stock for you. Digital content is never out of stock.

6. No stocking discrimination. stores are not allowed to refuse stocking entertainment based on their material.

7. No content discrimination. there are no "banned games" based on material. you want to make a game where you play a hitler - have at it. dont expect people to buy it though. you are still allowed to make it and sell it though.

8. Prostitution is legal. its going to happen anyway, may as well make sure the workers are safe and pay taxes.

9. no ingame purchases. all extra content must be bought outside the game and then added to a game. a system that allows you to autmatically do it via a website is ok as long as it is done outside of the game.

10. Rights of copyright material belong to authors. They are not allowed to sell it to publishers. publishers can make a deal to publish the content, however they do not own the content.

11. No region locking is allowed. you release worldwide or not at all.

12. Release must happen at the same time unless it is physically impossible to do so (such as a game is made by 1 guy that can only work on one version at a time). Money is not acceptable reason why.

No more telling the same stories over and over in the hope they'll be interesting this time. Give identical angsty white male superheroes a rest, or make them interesting somehow.

Put some effort into increasing diversity. Especially if a movie is set somewhere in the real world which has lots of people that are LGBT and/or PoC, it shouldn't be depicted as totally white or straight for no reason. On a related note, if someone is inventing their own world full of a diverse cast of werewolves, elves and iguana people, not all the humans should be white. C'mon.

Oh, and if people want to argue with Sarkeesian, they have to argue with what she has actually said, not what would be easier to argue against.

Hiring a competent writer from the get-go will be mandatory by law. Said writer will be able to file anonymous complaints with the "Office of Good Writing" if the executives up top are fucking the game/movie up. If Office finds that the writer's complaint is valid and the executive refuses to listen to reason, they will be punished with a swift kick to the nads until they see goddamn reason.

I am so tired of shitty writing, flat pointless characters, and badly constructed plots. I'm tired of executives going "well, this will not engage with what we think our audience is, make it blander!"

It's not even that HARD to write a decent plot and characters! I'm a rookie, making RPGmaker games for fun and I can make a better written plot in 2 weeks than some AAA devs can! (At least, if I believe what some of my fans have told me about my work). So what the heck is going on at the AAA level that so many of them can't do the same?

I'd pretty much leave everything as it is with the exception that I must be allowed to work on any film set or writing room I want. And that's as selfish I'm going to get with my power. :p

I will NEVER EVER cancel an animated series created by the creator envision!!! I will let it run throught its natural progress and also when the creator wants it to finish!!!

The show should be driven by the creator storytelling/ creatitivity and NOT by profits!

Seriously shows like Thundercat 2011, SymBionic Titan, Young Justice, DC Nation Short should had continue or at least finished their story than for their story forever be stuch in cliff hanger limbo!

Also I will throw away any "comedy" cartoon or rather they will not get the most advertisement/ promo in favour of the action one (F you Teen Titans GO)!
I feel like you would really not like <link=http://teen-titans-go.wikia.com/wiki/Let%27s_Get_Serious>this episode of Teen Titans Go! for some reason... :p

OT: All natural nudity... It doesn't matter who you are or how you look, we're all going to get naked in the First Annual Public Nudity For Desensitization broadcast live all across the world... or, at least, where we could get actual live feeds and shit...

Other than that, stop cancelling non-shit programming... since not every risk-taking show can hit it out of the park from Day 1 the same way the safe-driven shows can by virtue of "playing it safe" in the ratings department...
I heard and seen bits of that episode, mainly Aqualad dismissing Robin for his team ways of being a superheroes (I pretty much said "Burn!" to Robin on the screen!). The "serious" faces are way too off putting for me to watch the actual episode!

Judging by some of the ideas I've seen, I'd make sure some people that have posted in this thread never are in a position of power in the entertainment industry.

Besides that, I dunno. I'd probably use it bring back series that I want more installments or whatever in. Like Viva Pinata.

New Decree from the Chancellery of Arts and Entertainments.

In an effort to combat the overgrown practice of sequalisation and rabid franchise building, the Chancellor have decided to approve the Y-Zed Bill, giving it legal force from next new year forward.

For a decade's time, all direct sequels are hereby banned, as are remakes and spin-offs that cannot stand on their own.

Media that ends in such a way that they leave no proper closure will be investigated and cautioned, if it is found to be an attempt to circumvent this temporary ban. Similar cautions will be issued to producers attempting to gather and organize fanbases past a certain degree, as lessening the effects of fandom tribalism is a part goal of this initiative.

Once a decade's time has passed, the ban will be lifted and the results reviewed.

Secondary decree;

If particular fandom groups are particularly unpleasant, the Chancellor reserves the right to expunge all franchise lore and continuity at the end of the first Ten Year Ban.

I decree that every movie must be a buddy-cop movie, with all the cliches and terrible dialogue that accompanies them.

I would institute a new Board for Issues Trending in Current Hobby and Entertainment Sectors, of which I would be president, and my trusted friends the board members. Every time a new incident linked to a social issue crops up, we would hold a meeting behind closed doors, spending an antagonizingly substantial portion of the yearly Entertainment Industry Budget on food, drink, live music, and other necessary aids in the deliberation of the issue. Some time after we black out, a verdict would presumably have been reached, and we would attempt to issue it the next day in the form of a decree over both sides of the disagreement.

By holding the budget for ransom in this way, it is my sincere hope that this board will either eliminate these pesky issues, or obliterate them entirely by bankrupting the whole industry.

*Also, no more DLC or any mention of having a customer pay real money while in-game.

1. Tv miniseries adaptation of V for Vendetta, with Alan Moore as a creative consultant.

2. Monetary support for more hand drawn animation.

3. No movie is allowed to have more than 2 sequels, unless it becomes an anthology after the third.

4. No movie trailer is allowed to show us plot points about the movie beyond the first act. You can include up to 5 individual, context-free clips in addition, but no more.

6. I can nominate any show I want to be remade with a carte blanche budget, starting with Legend of Korra and the Vision of Escaflowne, helmed by the original creators.

7. Fanboys will be directed into THE REEDUCATION CENTRE! As to who's a fanboy, I have the power.

8. George R.R. Martin has to be injected with adrenaline and caffeine 24/7 until he finishes the ASOIAF series.

9. Guillermo del Toro gets to direct whatever he wants with an unlimited budget.

10. Splitting the last book of a series into two films is punishable by death by drowning in chocolate.

11. No one is allowed to make another God of War game with Kratos in it ever again.

12. All consoles, until the end of time, must have full backwards compatibility with all their predecessors' games, and if that's impossible (like trying to fit a NES cartridge into a Wii), all games from said system must be made available for digital download.

13. Nerd hype like game trailers, preorders, E3 and other such things will be shot, stabbed, blown up, burnt, ground to powder and launched into space.

14. Blatantly sexual marketing tactics, especially in videogames, will get the treatment above, and also have pepper spray and salt rubbed into their open wounds.

15. Sexualization of female characters is allowed, but they must have a multidimensional, believable character to sexualize, not just two melons strapped to a cloth rack.

16. Fanservice with males must be made as blatant as with female characters. Equality at last.

17. A fighting game must have at least 3 widely different body types and age groups among its female characters. The 20's/early 30's pornstar/swimsuit model variety isn't enough.

18. The Simpsons is cancelled, now and forever.

19. Matt Groening and the cast get to continue making Futurama as long as they want.

20. Before a console manufacturer enters their next generation, they must give their fully developed console to all willing developers to poke through for six months, so we can start having worthwhile games for the new system from the get-go.

2) Microtransactions are only available for free to play titles.
3) Microtransactions may only be cosmetic, or instant access to content purchasable via ingame currency.
4) Multiplayer map packs are not to be sold, but instead included in a free update.
5) Gameplay trailers must be at least 5 minutes long, and can only include unedited gameplay.
6) Review embargos must end at least 5 days before release.
7) All games must pass an extensive QA check. Each game must work without major faults or errors before release. Should a game not meet quality expectations, the game must be delayed.
8) If digital content is being sold, pre-loading must be available.
9) All games should be released on the same day around the world. No more delayed regional releases for no reason.
10) If a DMCA claim is made against a YouTube video, the claim should be checked by YouTube, and then further action should be taken only if necessary. No more guilty until proven innocent.
11) Nintendo should stop messing around with YouTube revenue.
12) Consoles should be backwards compatible to at least the previous generation.
13) If a game is to be rereleased, it should at least skip one generation (unless part of a bundle).
14) Videogame remakes should be meaningful and have an obvious jump in quality (eg Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary/Halo 2 Anniversary) and not just bumping up the resolution and calling it a day.
15) Videogame remakes and rereleases also must not be sold at full retail price at launch.
16) The average critcal score on Metacritic should be removed, and so too should the user review section.
17) All games with a multiplayer mode must also have an online option.
18) Seasons passes must include ALL future downloadable content.
19) All games that come through Steam Greenlight should be quality assessed. The voting system should also be tweaked.
20) DRM should be removed. Places like Steam should act as storefronts, and nothing else. Services like Steam, Origin and Uplay should not be required to play a game purchased through that service.
21) Speaking of Uplay: Uplay should be killed.
22) All annual franchises must now wait 2 years between installments.

Reality TV shows are to be taken off air and to be replaced with music shows. For one, I'm tired of how few music shows there are, how poor the slots are and how little diversity there is. I'm sure interviewing and listening to talented individuals is more worthwhile than watching someone that came 3rd on The X Factor eat a kangaroo's testicle. Also, all this new music programming has to cover a broad range of genres rather than focusing on charts.

Maybe some kind of new IP quota for films and games? Or maybe a limit on adaptations and reboots? Or both?

And, in massive contradiction, Alex Garland is to be given infinite funding to make a sequel to Dredd. As much as it fucking takes, and I don't give a shit if only me and three other people go and see it. I am the law.

Okay then.

Starting today, I am taking everyone working in the paparazzi and celebrity coverage and reassigning them to waste management. Interviews are forbidden unless they have some relevance to the interviewee's job. Any employees caught aggressively interviewing or taking unwanted photos of famous people will be fired on the spot. Also, I'm scrapping People magazine, Star magazine, Us Magazine and all tabloids. People with talent should be able to receive recognition for their achievements without having to sacrifice their personal privacy for the rest of their lives.

Oh, this would be delicious...

1. all sequels and spin-offs are now restricted by a mandatory five-year gap for all forms of entertainment.
2. direct sequels are required by law to contain five SIGNIFICANT innovations from the previous title's formula in order to be exempt from Rule 1. Palette swaps and map-pack-esque approaches are prohibited. A review board is constituted to provide verification.
3. all Social Studies and Humanities classes are required to contain a comprehensive primer on Feminism and social justice. Declaring "all men" as pawns of the Patriarchy qualifies as verbal abuse. I'd call it the "Nice Guys do Exist" clause. Social Relativism is strongly applied, AKA "Some people have it significantly harder than you do."
4. new and emerging minorities are also given an expository class, with the aim of preventing the emergence of the Muh Feelz Syndrome or of the Tumblr Triggering Effect, on both sides of the argument.
5. attempts to incite student riots within one month of the semester's end are declared illegal immediately.
6. however, student riots are ENCOURAGED as long as they manifest as peaceful opportunities for the development of skills related to either the job market or of a comprehensive degree in Politics. Notes must be taken, assignments about the protest's effects must be handed in regularly. If the faculty board can prove you voted in favor of the strike in order to add another week to your Spring Break, your semester is immediately failed.
7. all entertainment-related corporations are disbanded, effective immediately. The industry's practices are revised in order to favor self-publishing on the part of the developers.
8. DLC is also declared illegal, with incentives given to companies who go the extra mile in order to offer old-fashioned content packs or expansion packs. These additional products must contain significant gameplay or environment-related additions. Stand-alone cosmetics or map packs are illegal.
9. developers are required by law to diversify their skills. Only one type of game may be created every eight years. If you made a shooter, the next game you'll make within two or three years cannot be a shooter.
10. the ad industry is strongly encouraged to favor a positive self-image. No fat or skinny-shaming, extremely low tolerances to Photoshop jobs, an increased use of models that offer atypical features.

Nods Respectfully Towards You said:
Hrmm, let's see...

1. Canadian animation is banned and Johnny Test is rightfully considered a violation of the Geneva Convention.

2. A similar ban is placed on anime but a special task force will be put in place to save the ones that don't suck like Cowboy Bebop.

3. Tron Uprising, Symbionic Titan, Motorcity, Young Justice, Spectacular Spiderman, and Avengers: EMH are all renewed and allowed to finish their story arcs as originally envisioned.

4. All games ported to PC (actual ports, not half-assed ones filled with bugs).

5. EA, Ubisoft, Activision, and other such companies shall be liquidated and have all their properties seized by people with actual talent.

6. No more DLC outside of expansions.

7. Marvel and DC will cut the fat from their comic universes by curbing the constant reboots, rehashes, and character rebirths. More stand-alone titles will also be produced that aren't cape comics.

8. Shit comics like Whor and Squirrel Girl will no longer be able to hide behind diversity and be judged as the abominations they are.

9. A severe reduction of 3-D animated movies, or at the very least a revitalization of 2-D animation that's comparable to it.

10. Everyone involved in Cartoon Network's fall from grace will be drawn and quartered, CN will restored to something comparable to its glory days.

11. More mature animated shows and movies.

12. Spongebob will finally be put out of his misery, Nick will drop all of its shit live action sitcoms and bring in more Nicktoons.

13. No more bending over backwards to rabid SJWs, if they don't like something they'll have to just dislike it like everyone else does.

14. Anita Sarkeesian/McIntosh will no longer receive awards. Their Twitter rantings and videos will be considered about as relevant to gaming as that of a crazy Hobo's, like they should.

15. A return of the middle market, no longer will gaming be limited to just indie and AAA.

16. Indie gaming will no longer be a place where people like Phil Fish and Brianna Wu can reach critical acclaim.

17. Game journalism will actually become journalism. No more Kotakus or IGNs. Things like Doritogate or Gamergate will no longer have a reason to exist.

18. No more reboots period. Sequels to long dead franchises are also banned. No more franchise necromancy in general. Exceptions can be made but it is not something that would be taken lightly.

19. Most of the creatively bankrupt Youtube channels are banned, a new revenue system is set in place in order help actual content creators earn money while things "Let's Play" accounts and vloggers will earn less.

20. Er.... more skub?
Sorry to go off topic, but what counts as Canadian Animation? Does it get any viewership outside Canada?
