Someone once accused me of making really bizarre threads. THEY'RE RIGHT :D

so the gist of things are, you awaken with animal features. Now, please be aware that these are not 'traditional' animal features, some may identify themselves as 'furries' but not everyone.

NOW! NOW!

Just listen before you start ranting about anti-furry and whatnot, maybe you yourself are not changed but a family member is, and the changes are fairly fantastical. Angel wings, demon wings, fire-breathing, multiple tails.

Maybe some of you have abilities, maybe they don't.

But basically nobody has any answers as to why, experts are pointing fingers all over the world, and things in general have gone uncertain.

And now you're stuck in it...with the world gone insane.

So, what do you do?

EDIT: AND JUST FOR FUN! Let's try to figure out how the rest of the world would react? Pandemonium? Chaos? Riots? Orgies? WE MUST KNOW!
Me personally, I'd probably end up with some sort of fox morph, so I'd alter my clothes as necessary and go out to make little kits :3

Everyone has, the world over?

In that case, I'd dig in, and hope the religious wars, riots and lynch mobs pass me by.

Science the hell out of it, deduce the underlying principles, and eventually take over the world.

You can use this to answer any fantastical "what would you do...?"

I'd probably wind up with something lame like sloth-man with the amazing ability to move very very slowly. So I'd just chill.

Oh and

Have a Happy Valentines Day furry friends.

What happens to those of us who are already dogs?

I suppose wings would be quite helpful, but also a bit conspicuous. Maybe camouflage like a white tiger? Sleek, but not too far overboard...

I had a dream once that I was being tortured by a mob of very unpleasant individuals (this actually has more dreams proceeding it; but I'm not getting into them). Anyway, after a while of this, I built up enough rage/fury/whatever to call upon Ares (which is funny; because I was born under the sign of Aries) who granted me some kind power to decimate these particular people into a little pile of smoldering ash, as well as the rest of their kind everywhere. They were actually some type of antagonists that were always hinted at in the earlier dreams, but until now weren't really seen. I immediately became this type of hero to the people that had to put up with the dickwad brigade and was dubbed 'Divine Retribution'. The aftereffects of being touched by Ares was that now I had large wings of reddish flame, and my hair kept shifting color, like that of a fire.

It was kinda cool; but I still want a cat tail. Bonus if I get the ears to go with it.

I'd hope I wouldn't have changed too much, there are some animals I think are awesome like lobsters but I wouldn't want to be one myself. It would be cool to have wings I guess. I'd also hope that most people wouldn't change more than things like ears, tails, wings etc since I prefer humans, wouldn't mind having some part-animals around though. Other than that, something so illogical would most likely change my perspective of the world and it'd encourage my suspicion that we're all living inside a giant computer simulation.

Let me point you to my title.

If anything happened, it would either just give me (Arch)Angel wings ...
or it would turn and change my whole body, mind and soul into the one of an Archangel (of lightning, the one and only).

If I did receive these.
Well if I just got Angel Wings, I would just fly places, freak people out and do some good deeds.
If I got the second, well lets just say I would ascend to my lightning throne without anyone noticing.

Is this a what animal you would be thread? Or a what animal do you want to be thread?

If the former, I'd probably wake up as a part Alligator thing because I'm lethargic, have a great smile, and get pissy if you really irritate me :D

...If the latter? Umm... Bird lungs... I'd want to wake up with bird like lungs. Those things are beyond efficient and have the lung tissue constanly/nearly constantly exposed to oxygen. Birds do not get winded easily... like ever.

I'd most likely be a sloth, that kind of lifestyle suits me. Or maybe I'd be a bat.

I'd be like a bat sloth. Wow I actually found a picture of one.

Meh, I didn't have any plans for my weekend this week.

Now, by "animal" features, do you mean a kemono-esque shift? Fur, ears, feet, tail, ect, but still essentialy humans? If that happens, do nothing. I really don't care.. I imagine it'd be fun to walk into work one day and shout "bitchex plz imma tiger".

Except considering my highly lethargic and cynical personality, I'd end up as something drepressing like a sloth.

Or a blobfish. But if I become that, I suppose if anyone's filming a movie adaption of Shadow over Innsmouth, guess whwat I'll be?

Well, delightful developments for a terrible furfag such as myself, I suppose. An interesting if upsetting experience.

Although, the walk down to the police to get my papers sorted will be less fun. Dealing with the inevitable internet tards showing up on the pavement with knives and batons will be even less fun... I doubt I'd be welcome to many job interviews, unless a very, substantial part of the population have mutated as well.

If I do end up with unusual abilities, I hope they aren't exceedingly good. I don't want to end up in government detainment as a dangerous mutant.

Would your new world order perhaps be in need of a Speer? I could do that!

I'd adapt to it and feel like it'd make life more interesting. Humans are dull in my opinion, not personality wise but just by looks. Why do you think we adore and love movies that mixes things up with humans and fantasy/creatures? Because we like variety, and I would openly welcome it.
Could I hide at your house, if I had the #yollynch goon brigade prowling me with truncheons and blowtorches?

I promise I'll attempt to be as vibrant and quirky as possible!

Hmmm... I guess it depends on what I'd get, then I'd react accordingly.
I'd be fine wit like say, a pair of cat ears, or a prehensile tail, because those would look pretty damn cute/be useful. Knowing my luck however, I'd probably get like, bulldog face or something like that.

best situation...fully turn into a cat and to keep it realistic so atleast the size fits... a maine coon cat. Pro's vs. Con's?

Pro's: I dont have to go to work, I get pet all day, I get all the food/water I want, even if I am being a drama queen I still count as 'cute', I break something and its 'FOR FU---aww...you look so cute ' (cat owners can relate), I can sleep for 17 hours a day.

Con's: this is the portion where Id add that yao ming face.

so all in all, thatd be the best situation for me, if I had to 'choose' what animal trait to take ehh....Id go for those jellyfish that can live 'forever' who keep regenerating every cell in their body (some of them are assumed to be alive since the times of dinosaurs, Ill add the name in a later post)

worst situation...Id get an animal trait like....a wombat. I can poo cubes... and no one would give a...ehh yeah, add the pun there.

mmk, sorry to double post but seeing as I wrote in my last post that Ill add the name of the jellyfish Im speaking of.

Turritopsis Nutricula is a jellyfish that 'reverts' back to its juvenile form once it mates after becoming mature. Henceforth, aslong as they keep going at it like rabbits, they cant die.

I'd imagine that we could expect much the same reaction as we could to a disaster.

Step One: Turn on News to gauge both how widespread the issue is and initial reactions.

Step Two: Inspect self to determine extent of changes.

Step Three: Contact friends and family to determine whether or not they are similarly affected

Step Four: If unaffected but know somebody who is, or vice versa, unaffected gathers rations

Step Five: Unaffected temporarily relocate to the home of the affected to dissuade mobs (Possession of firearms a plus, as mobs are unlikely to be easily dissuaded)

Step Six: As violence in the near future is likely, the affected stay out of sight until order starts being restored (if changes are common, expect a week or two at absolute minimum before people start coming to grips with it. Assume length of time required for populous adjustment is inversely proportional to how common the changes are)

Step Seven: Knowledge of the outside is a must, and fortunately such a shift is likely to be a hot-topic until long after the world makes peace with it. If power is not cut, keep tabs on News stations and/or websites. Do not register on sites for 'changed' people until initial reactions die down! While contact with others is a boon, it also makes it easier for rioters to find you. There will be plenty of time for connections when the non-affected are more level headed.

Step Eight: Once the world gains a semblance of order and acceptance again...wait a little longer. Personal recommendation is to count the time between the initial change and the public acceptance of it and remain hidden for an additional 1/10 of that to wait out any stragglers who are still prone to violence.

Step Nine: Reconnect.

...As you might guess, I'd expect rioting in the streets at the change, so my general thought is 'survival first'.

Depending on how things turned out, I'd start believing in a very hairy God. I mean, if people just happened to get wings or cat ears or something, that's waaaay too contrived to be anything natural. If people, say, randomly got a few extra stomachs or developed stomachs or their eyes started migrating to one side like a flounder or something, I

oh god quadruple-set pig-tittiesnope nope nope drinking the brain bleach now.

....I'd really, really hope for the former, and for superpowers or stuff that doesn't muck around with my physiology. Except maybe fully-voluntary bioluminescence. That'd be pretty cool. You could hide such a change, but still get really cool uses out of it. Never stub your toe in the dark again, always have a reading light, and damn. I'd have to start cosplay if I could do some cool glowy stuff.

That being said, the world would be in utter chaos for a little while, but in the less-superstitious parts of the world, I could imagine things dying down, as long as people didn't get X-men level superpowers.

Well, thank god that I stocked food to make absolutely sure that I wouldn't have to go outside on valentine's day, and then stretch said food via rationing to last as long as possible, hopefully until the local area calms down a little. Until then, try to get used to things on my end, and finally get round to clearing my immense videogame/anime backlog. Possibly whilst exchanging incredibly angry emails with the university over how yes, this massive world changing event should probably grant me a few days off.

Because most people in this thread are right, if this happened, the entire world would instantly go batshit insane.
