You ever liked a game that Yahtzee didn't?

Most of them. Yahtzee is no God. He takes games and nitpicks the hell out of them for comedy. What people don't understand: He is not a reviewer.

I could take any of my favorite games, nitpick them, throw in some cussing and metaphors involving genitalia, and end up with the same product that he produces on a weekly basis.

It's really not hard. Yahtzee is one picky S.O.B. A better question would be if you hated a game that he liked.

Oh, and welcome to the Escapist. Stick to the rules, don't feed the trolls, and enjoy your stay.

Yeah, all the time. Generally he sees the absolute worst in a game and while there's generally a grain of truth to his reviews, they're very one sided.

Yes. Most obvious to me being Smash Bros. Brawl and Guitar Hero III. Is it clear that most of my game time is spent on multiplayer?

Yahtzee isn't a game reviewer, he's a comedian. He's a good comedian, but certainly no game reviewer.

Yahtzee has pretty terrible taste (IN MY OPINION OH GOD STOP THE HATEMAIL).

He loves shooters and all that shit.
While I do enjoy the good shooter, I have to agree with the scratched out part of Max's post. It's sort of obvious that one would like something Yahtzee hates- because he hates anything that isn't absolutely superb.

Halo is one of my most favorite series. Although I do prefer RPG's recently to shooters.

Yeah, I can't imagine anyone hasn't liked a game that he's hated.
Unless they're not a gamer, obviously.
They don't even have to be a gamer. Just playing videogames on the rare occasion they're bound to like something he hates.

Obviously I have. The opposite of this question is: Have you ever not liked a game that Yahtzee did?
To which the answer will more often than not be: Yes.

Yahtzee has a distinctly different taste in games than me.

However if you are asking which ones, I'd have to say Oblivion first and foremost.

sonic unleashed and soul calibur 4 are the only ones i liked(while yatzee hated them)

I grew up playing sonic so being the fan i am that was soley guilty pleasure. As for sc4 i thought that was a really bad review. fighting games are supposed to have weak cpu so you can have an excuse to fight your friends.
that jerk.

Well I absolutley adore Halo, despite his condemnation.
But still it really isn't a big deal, he has his opinion and I have mine, besides he really strikes me more as a comedian.

He talks about how "J RPGs" are just the stupid crap over and over again, with poor character design and blah blah. I do agree that some character designs make me want to murder their creator (see: Vaan, FFXII) though it's my favorite genre of gaming. Everyone has opinions, but Yathzee is a critic, and gets paid to use his abrasive style of reviewing. I find it very entertaining, but his opinion won't stop me from enjoying/hating a game.
