I take only what is presented to me. If you don't want to appear to support rapists, don't support rapists.
Again you failed to understand me, Dont put the words you want to hear in my mouth.
Ok.. who exactly got raped?

Edit: and I "KNOW" these things because I have an understanding of the legal system. What sort of parent would accept an agreement that does not throw the book at criminals who victimised their daughter. Seriously we have a case of a man beating a pedo to death for fooling with his daughter with his bare hands, but you think another father would be "Oh, ok, a year in jail and a fine should cover it"

Seriously all your post does is further illustrates how you are applying your own context to my words.

It's only a matter of time until the RSPCA jumps all over the escapist for all this horse beating.

I believe in this particular case the girl's name is Savannah Dietrich
Really? cause last I checked she was sexually assaulted, not raped. You do fully realize those are not the same things, right?

That would go a long way to explaining why you have trouble differentiating between how I can say THIS girl has part of the blame to shoulder and still not justifying rape.

This is why I say you have no need to quote me. You dont understand what I am saying, and applying your own context and meaning to it.

NO MR KITTY! That's a bad Mr Kitty! We've moved on from rape threads now. The current flavour of the month is gun control. Get with the times, yo.

And how has society forced you to make this thread? A thread full of points already covered by the billion other rape threads we've had over the last few weeks I might add.

Also, if one's goal of provocative dress is to get raped, is it really rape?

You... you do know what rape is, correct? Just making sure. Or are you being sarcastic? Tell me you're being sarcastic.

Yes, I was being very sarcastic. I always forget it's hard to tell in text.

you are still trying to defend the indefensible.
No I am not, but your going to ignore that and infer your own meaning anyway, So Im going to reiderate that you are wrong, applying your own meaning to my words to paint me as supporting rape because you made the initial statement based on a misunderstanding of what I was talking about and are trying to force it to stick with what you originally said so you dont have to back peddle.

You just illustrated you dont even conceptualize the difference between rape, molestation and sexual assualt and your trying to promote the notion that all of those things should be treated the same when no two cases ever should be treated the same.

So Im done speaking on this. Ive explained my position as well as how your incorrect and misconstrued position on mine is wrong. Your welcome to continue trying to paint me in an evil light, but Im not adding more fodder for you to do so and it does not make my actual point less valid where it is actually applicable and does not apply it to all subjects unrelated.

I think some people(ladies) need to look into rape prevention more often.

No problem bro! :D

Image must be shown whenever a dead horse thread is being beaten, and you picked up my slack. Well done!

I'd point you back to the other thread. Kentucky has no such thing as sexual assault.

Nobody cares.

OT: I'm sick and tired of the victim getting blamed for ANYTHING unless it's a real blatent stupidity. Not 'We used a high-priced lawyer to smear shit around', but actual proper dumb shit. Punish dumb people, but allow proper victims their due to kick some ass.

While i agree with the broad point your making i wholeheartedly disagree that you should treat rapists differently from any other kind of criminal. The vast majority of crime is not accidental or excusable, the vast majority can be put down to nature or negative influence, as with rapists. Yes rape is a terrible thing, and the punishment should be proportionate, as with any crime.
Once you go down the route of saying your going to treat certain crimes differently from others, not only do you undermine the justice system as a whole but you also risk creating a two teir justice system.

How about to make yourself feel good?
Does not work unless someone cares ergo attention (attention isn't necessarily a bad thing)

Because you think it looks nice?
Again it looks nice so people will look at you ergo attention

Because it follows curret fashion?
This one could be plausible without it all being about attention

Because you might want to look special that night?
again, just for attention :L

Everything you've said could apply to less revealing clothes as well, formal dresses for example, they look amazing and aren't as revealing as a tank top and mini-skirt, but I guess that's just opinion...

I think the nuance you might be missing is that sunburn is a reasonable expectation. You go out in the sun, and it's reasonable that you might be sunburnt, so taking precautions is a reasonable course of action.
There is never a case, ever, wherein there is a reasonable expectation of rape. If that is the society in which we live, then we need to fix our society, cause that is a fucked up state of affairs.
Isn't the fact that not only did it happen, but it happens quite often enough reason to take precautions?

I disagree.
Sorry, but not everything is about other people or attention.
For example, if I wanna dress up nice, I'm doing it for me. So I can say `yes, I think I look good/acceptable` while looking in the mirror. I don't care what anyone else thinks, the someone who cares is me. I actually hate attention, I'm totally socially awkward.
It's perfectly possible to dress a certain way because you want to, not because you want attention.

It's also perfectly possible to not even think about it, if you asked most people (male and female) why they dress how they do, they would probably just say `I just do/I like it`.

If that was true why don't they just dress like that and stay home :L

It is true what is acceptable to a person is determined by the individual but we all know the effects of what you wear, and wearing revealing clothes would obviously get you a lot of attention.

And do you wear revealing attire? , does your casual clothes still get you a tonne of attention from the people around you?
If you answered no to either of those questions it just proves my point that they dress like that to get attention. After all, if it wasn't for attention they'd just wear it at home.

What the fuck?
Dress nice but stay at home?
Seriously?

Also, depends on what you mean by revealing.
I was wearing a tank top today, seeing as it was boiling, am I asking for attention?
Jeez, man, people will wear what they freaking want. I advise you to deal.

If it's NOT for attention then how does wearing it at home make you feel any less special -.-

By revealing I refer to anything where you can see the skin usually only seen when someone is wearing a bikini or less.
I have no problem with them wearing what they want, just letting em know there are prowlers out there and your fancy clothes just might make you a victim >>

Spiderman wanted to help you but he's having his own problems with this issue, although he's wearing provocative spandex so it's his own fault.
