Well, my wish is half granted.

This is a feature that I feel Original ME trilogy lacked compared to Dragon Age series. In DA:O and DA:I, players were given choices to play whichever race they wanted. The world within the game would react differently.

Although I know I'll probably never get my wish playing as Turian in the main story mode, This will do for now.

But seriously, they bother to make ME:A with a completely new main character and set it in a new universe, where every new person you'll meet will have the exact same reaction of "WTF are you?!" whether you're a human or krogan and now they even go as far as making the character model for the player for MP and yet they don't just go the extra way of letting the player play as another race?

ME3 multiplayer also has it, but the races have to be acquired from loot boxes. I only unlocked the Turian Cabal (female Turian Vangard).

Do we have info at all on what kind of multiplayer we'll be looking at? Is it just a redux of Mass Effect 3's? Cause I'd be fine with that.

Pretty much every race was playable: Asari, Quarian, Turian, Volus, Vorcha, Drell, Batarian, Geth, and my personal favorite, backhanding and headbutting everything as a Krogan. I think you could even play as a Collector.

Basically, everyone except Elcor, Hanar, Rachni, Yagh and the OG Protheans. And the Reapers, of course.

Pretty much every race was playable: Asari, Quarian, Turian, Volus, Vorcha, Drell, Batarian, Geth, and my personal favorite, backhanding and headbutting everything as a Krogan. I think you could even play as a Collector.

Basically, everyone except Elcor, Hanar, Rachni, Yagh and the OG Protheans. And the Reapers, of course.

Can't leave out all the other human classes, like the Cerberus agents, N7 Phantoms, that Destroyer one which was basically just a walking fortress, maybe one more that I'm forgetting.

Man ME3's multiplayer was great once all those free expansions and characters were out. The Destroyer, the Phantom, and the Krogan Warlord were so much fun to just murder waves of grunts with. I also had a ton of fun being a rolly polly volus and just doubling everyone's shields every 4 seconds. The crazy little bastards didnt even have a melee lol, they just went invisible for 5 seconds. As long as there is a PvE multiplayer mode again, I will be happy. I'll also probably spend too much money on loot packs again.

Yes, I agree that once it got fleshed out with all the news characters, weapons, powers and whatnot, the multiplayer had a surprising amount of depth. It was quite a lot of fun to experiment with all kinds of weapon/power combinations, finding all kinds of powerful combos, and then seeing how those synergize with other characters.

My favorite tactic at one time was what I called the 'Boom Box', basically a Biotics only squad kiting around the enemy until they were nicely packed together, then each player would prime a different target, followed by sequential detonations. Rinse, repeat until no more enemies available. It required good combination to get the timings right, but when it did

... biotic explosions ... biotic explosions ... everywhere ... all the time. You could substitute with fire/tech/cryo explosions, but biotic tended to be easiest to pull off.
