Its fun playing a coop game where they can't revive themselves except for a medic. first to die and get ditched.

I'm 12 and I see pretty much everyone who can get their hands on a mic do the same thing. Its the freedom of speech they have and abuse online.

when I was 12 we did not have online gaming so it was not an issue
Oh the good old days.

Kids and fratboys and general loud-mouths are what make me despise online gaming... or alternatively mute everyone, which is a shame. It would be nice to have some good conversation while gaming, and more to the point some strategy and teamwork as well.
Agreed it is hard to find some one on MW2 that can give a good conversation as well as information about the game I tend to find that I am the only one saying anything about the enemy position

I would comment on fuburt, but he's suspended. anyways. there could be a way. They could make the mic not work until they reach 14, like the whole parental thing, only with mics. so even if it was plugged in and it wouldn't work. *sigh* if only...

I have no problem with younger gamers so long as they're not mouthing off like idiots.

I am 13 and have never, NEVER, been told I was an immature gamer. In my gaming I have run across some kids with the annoying 'voice'. I don't have a headset for that very reason. I also think that 3nd graders shouldn't be playing HALO 3(or any other M game) online.

At the time when I started (quake 1) there wasn't any VOIP to be had (or connection to support it). As such I had to type out my messages. I have also generally refrained from the silly, generally homophobic insults that seem to constitute the bulk of what the squeakers of today have to say.

Nobody bothered me because I wasn't being a jackass. I'm quite certain that many of todays young gamers probably do the same and I'm only being forced to experience it because someone decided to give the waterheaded among them microphones.

When I was about 12 years old. I started playing online for the first time.

I had an annoying voice, so I wouldn't speak into the mic at all.

So I feel like kids today are disrespectful twats.

I hate the voice. I really really do. I have no problem playing with younger players, as long as they don't talk.
This pretty much sums it up, but to be honest, the way some people handle it is retarded. I never talk on my mic for this exact reason, people hate it to an extreme. The way people react to it though, has pretty much given me ridiculous amounts of shyness in online games (and to an extent, the internet in general, I will almost NEVER add a friend.) to the point that when playing with my old clan mate, I refuse to use the mic even though he wants me to. It is a bit hypocritical of me to complain about kids though when I myself am a kid.

*EDIT* This has brought back memories of all the times kids would join my clans server, these weren't any kids, these must have been 5 year olds, and one time one of these kids kept on telling us to "fuck off" whenever we asked him/her to shut the fuck up.

The voice does not bother me, I work with kids so if it did I suppose I would be in the wrong job lol. I think people are annoyed because they seem to be disrespectful from what I have heard, especially on Xbox live.

I however have had no bad experiences with kids online what so ever, infact they can be quite funny, I play on the PC though.
