My birthday is the 6th of August which was the day Hiroshima was bombed. My brother is september the 11th, and we all know what that is.

11th of September. living in the US, that has some pretty awful connotations. on the other hand, THE 11th of September (2001) was my 21st birthday, which is legal drinking age here in the States, so i always joke that it was a good day to start drinking. gallows humor ftw!

but honestly, the date of my birth has affected me almost none at all.

1287: St. Lucia's flood. The Zuider Zee sea wall in the Netherlands collapses, killing over 50,000 people.

2008: President George W. Bush makes his fourth and final (planned) trip to Iraq as president and is almost struck by two shoes thrown at him by Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi during a news conference in Baghdad.
