Oh, and a massive thank you to EA for:
- Producing great quality games time and time again
- Providing excellent technical support
- Never destroying any highly acclaimed studios for profit
- Never ripping people off
- Never wasting people's time
And the best post award of 2008 goes toooooo *drumm roll*
How long do you think it'll be before it "mysteriously disappears"?

Blizzard because they haven't screwed up yet.

...How can anyone say that with a straight face...?

...Seriously, I'm in shock here...

Anyways, on topic:

This thread AGAIN...?

Valve. No other company has the track record Valve has:

- Steam
- They have yet to release a single game that's not a major success in sales and as a game.
- Continued support to their games, not just the p2p ones like most of the other cock blood sucking leeches companies.
- Actually listen to the good ideas most of the time.
- Patron deities of all things original and creative.

No other company even comes close to Valve.

Bioware. Why?
Planescape Torment
Icewind Dale (All of them)
They were done by Black Isle studios. Who have Fallout (before they became a separate studio from Interplay) and it's sequel, as well as co-developing Baldur's Gate with Bioware.

Ion Storm for Deus Ex.

Valve, obviously.

I stand corrected!
Bioware developed (Or co-developed?) the Infinity Engine that powered them, so maybe that's why I lumped them all together.

Yeah, I had to wiki it though, hehe.

I still love Bioware for KOTOR and NWN, but I hope Obsidian (essentially the new BIS) will prove itself in time.

Activision because of Call of Duty and Guitar Hero
Lately I too discovered that many of the great games I was playing come courtesy of Activision. But gee, it wasn't too long ago that they seemed more than content to crap out movie-based games on a (it seemed) daily basis. As much as I like Activision the publisher now, I'm a bit hesitant.

Oh, and how could I have forgotten Bioware? Consistently making great games for over a decade now. If they took a more active role in changing the video game marketplace, they'd be in Valve's exalted company.

Of course, as I say "over a decade" of quality games, I am reminded of Nintendo. "A quarter-century's worth of amazing games." That's what they've done. Incredible.

Three entries from my side:

- I think CD Project deserves credit for how and what they did with The Witcher and its enhanced edition as well as starting gog.com

- Mainly because of the games I'll add Bohemia Interactive, for OFP and ArmA, which I'm playing since 2001. Support and interaction with the community is good as well.

- As there is nothing more in terms of the original series coming for Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon from Ubisoft, I'm highly anticipating Ground Branch by Blackfoot Studios. So far I like their way of communication and honest answers you get from them, and the way they do things just sounds right.
