Disclaimer: This is NOT a funniest pictures thread. Please do not post demotivational posters or anything like them.

As an aspiring photographer, there have been a great many pictures I have taken inspiration from, whether it was based on their artistic quality or historical significance. Hell, I own about 5 books filled with photographs alone. So I ask you, what are your favorite pictures, ones that mean a lot to you, or ones you just think are just damn pretty?

I'll post some first:

No, that is not enhanced in any way.

The image is kind of small, but in the larger version, the amount of detail on the rock and tuatara is astounding.

Yeah, the water is that clear.

Continuing with the stingray theme for a second, here's a favourite of mine:

Ah, a classic image. Some of the nicest editorial/cover work of the 20th century.

All of Joey Lawrence's studio work (and a large majority of his location stuff) is inspiring to me as a photographer. Lara Jade is another similar one.

Rankin, of course, tops the list for advertising photography (and a lot of other genres).

I'd post up images, but I feel it's more enlightening for you guys to check them out yourselves. :)

I don't care if it's staged, it's still unnervingly beautiful.

There are some great pics here, most notably the first one, which to me looks incredibly like tattooed skin.

I like this one of my cat ^^ [http://cruenta.deviantart.com/art/Alessa-II-113010236]
My girlfriend took the picture.
That is not the one I like the most from the Watchmen Portraits book, but it was the best one I found online. Every portrait in that book is brilliant.
This is also a great portrait. I love it. [http://carlzon.deviantart.com/art/New-but-not-new-HDR-64150859]
How can you do anything but love nature when you see something like this? [http://adamsalwanowicz.deviantart.com/art/Scotland-09-113217434]
