Well, I guess the title can be a little mis-leading. Basically, I had a math sub today who taught the entire class more in one day than our normal teacher did the entire year, and it was quite enjoyable! So, heres how it goes, I wanna hear about your (points giant finger in your direction) favorite/funniest/sad/etc. substitute teacher stories!

Enjoy!

I had a subsitute for my Theater course who was a completely stereotypical professor. He was relatively old, had a big mustache, round glasses, messy and curly grey/brown hair, and wore an old suit with a red tie.

That said, he was entirely awesome. He was friendly and knowledgable on the subject, despite never having been trained as a Theater teacher. He was funny, surprisingly down-to-earth for someone his age, and spoke English, German, and French fluently. He helped me do some of my German homework.

Unfortunately, I only had him for one day, and pretty much every other substitute I got fell into the category of "horrible". Although they're usually pretty easy on the eyes...

There was one sub who couldn't NOT tell us, every single time she subbed, about the time she "thought" she saw a dead person in a car because the car was parked on the side of the road with a person in it...

I had a english sub who told us about the first time he smoked weed. At first it was weird but he ended up being really funny. Thats probably the only cool sub I've ever had.

There's an awesome sub in my district who's from India (or somewhere in that general area) who does balancing tricks during class. He balances chairs and desks on his chin, yardsticks on his feet (with books on top of them, of course), and all sorts of other crazy crap.

He also claims his father/grandfather/some close male relative of his invented the pizza cutter.

The year was 2006, and it was junior English class. Our teacher had just gotten married to another teacher at our high school and the two were on their honeymoon, and while they were gone, our substitute English teacher was a man named Mr Cass. We were reading some old English tale involving the ocean and sea travel, and it just so happened that Mr. Cass was also a sea captain, so how he wound up substitute teaching is beyond me. Anyway, he taught what he felt was important and filled our heads with false information, allowed us to take individual tests as a group, and made us do assignments that our real teacher had never told him to make us do. For setting our class back almost two weeks in a one week period, we forever called him Captain Chaos.

Mr. V., because he liked to talk about interesting things we could use later (all of which I forgot by this point, seeing if I can remember later) and he was just damn cool.

Yeah, it was my senior year, and this girl started subbing at our high school for different classes. She was hot, and she was flirty. Long story short, we ended up dating for 6 months. Best sub ever.

There's this one sub at my school that my friend and I tricked into saying "Chotch" about five times. If you don't know what a chotch is:

All the substitute teachers in my school are complete Arseholes. There are no favorites, although thanks to characteristics we can identify two of them, although they are two of the worst. One, whom I have tactfully nicknamed "Whistley Woman", because when she says the letter s, its like a sharp high pitched sound thats actually painful if you are too close. The other is simply known by my whole year as "The Irish Guy". He essentially knows he is hated, doesn't care, and sends people out of the class if he thinks they are going to misbehave (Note: Going to, not actually doing anything, just if he thinks they might).
