What was the first video game you ever played? What was it like? Describe how you felt.

Mine was Star Wars on the Game Boy Pocket. I fondly remember it kicking my ass (I was like 7) but I loved it because it was STAR WARS, MAN. On a GAME BOY, which I'd only wanted for years :)

As always, thank you for your time and posts. They are very appreciated.

PS:Search-barred up to 3 pages in. That is probably enough :p

Once there was a blue hedgehog. He was a fast blue hedgehog, and he collected shiny gold rings and destroyed robots by jumping on them. I was 3 years old... How awesome do you think it was?

It was either Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES. I don't remember which one. I was either 2 or 3 years old.

Super Mario 64. I can still remember how my mom defeated King Bob-Omb for my brother and me, because we couldn't do it. Long time ago, though. Nowadays I laugh out loud at King Bob-Omb, during which he grabs me tight and throws me off the mountain again. Oops.

Coming to think about it, it could also have been Mario Kart 64. Suffice to say, the Nintendo 64 was the first console my brother and I ever got.

Soul Blade! (Or Soul Edge for all those NTSC gamers), the starting of the "Soul Calibur" series.

It was either that or Destruction Derby.

I would compare Sonic's fall from grace to watching a loved one slowly kill themselves through drink and drugs.

Ohh, you kids are making me feel old here! First game i clearly remember playing is Pac-Man, at the arcade. First console game was Pong on Atari. I remember having fun, but I'll admit I didn't get *really* into a game until playing Kid Icarus on NES when I was about 5. That had a real story and I liked being able to fly! :D

I have a real hard time to remember.. But I think it was Pokémon blue. I fucking loved that game.
Until some dude stole it and didn't want to confess. He was TRULY an asshole. I maybe spent 300 hours on it, achieving a lot of good ones, including Mewtwo level 89. If I'd sell it now, I would probably earn enough money to buy a REAL HIPPO!
... Or the seal based of my avatar to guard outside my front door.

Skifree on Windows 3.0... That's before I found this weird button that made everything disappear, and showed it to my dad - After I used the magic 'delete' button on the windows folder.

I don't remember how old I was at the time or what the game was called, but my first-ever videogame was a shareware billiards game on an old i386.

First game I ever played at any great length was Mario 64.

I just bought it again recently. I'm having too much fun.
This was faaar from my first game, but I had to echo the love for Mario 64! I used my brother's NIntendo Power magazine guide to get through the tough parts and played it through several times (I only ever got 3 games for the N64!), and it still remains one of my top 5 games ever!

Frogger, on a Vic 20 and black-and-white TV screen.

And William Shatner agrees!
