Attaining all the veteran achievements on Modern Warfare 2. On that difficulty it turned a 5 hour game into a 10 hour one. Trying to complete the last part of contingency in only a minute and a half was the worst.

Hmmmmm, most the time I just go "fuck it" if the achievements not any fun and just leave it half complete. But I suppose the one i'd never want to do again is the general 100% modern warfare 2. I didn't like that game, yet have 100%. weird.
Still 1000 times easier than veteran in Cod4

I played both of the Modern Warfare games on veteran and each one was the worst in their own way. The first one because it put the difficulty on dickhead developer level of hard and Modern Warfare 2 because I had to play through it two times to get the achievement. It was all really my fault because before I started playing them I forgot to recover my gamertag back from my friends xbox because I was unable to connect to live at the time. I was not too happy with having to do the cabin level a second time if you know which level I'm talking about.

Star 69 from MW 2 is a close contender but it was honestly one of the funnest times I've played a video game because me and my friend did it together the whole way through and that made it a lot more bareable.

That level with the computer servers. . . I wanted a machine gun so badly. So. Badly.

It's not that hard on PC :/
Now why would that be? Unless you're talking about mods... and I'm on Xbox 360. I agree that the first L4D's expert mode was not too hard but L4D2's is definitely something worth mention.
Well, I know you are on Xbox, that is why I said it. And, no, I don't have any mods installed on my L4D2 besides custom maps. It is easier because of the mouse and keyboard interface, with easier online game setups, and custom, intuitive key bindings.

OP: Lambda Locater seems impossible without a guide.

Collecting all the audio logs on ODST.
It wouldnt be so bad IF THE GAME WASN'T GLITCHED.
You have to collect all the audio logs in one go without going off of the game because if you do it deletes your audio log process.
BTW I'am only assuming the game is glitched and this isn't a design flaw.
ummm... whut? no it isn't. Set the game to easy - grab the 29 logs in the world. Skip to the data hive level, grab the last one, bam, done.

One Free Bullet - Half-Life 2: Episode 1. Beat the game firing only one shot - the hard part is the citizen escort part.
Get Some Grub - Half-Life 2: Episode 2. I still haven't got it, but attempted it many times.
Beating all challenge maps - Portal. RAGEEEEEE in the Companion Cube and Android test chambers.
The part with the citizen escort is friggin easy because you get a container with rockets, and the achievement says you cant use bullets, but you are allowed to use rockets as much as you want.

I know its not a PS3/X360 achievement, but I really really hated getting exalted with the Netherwings in WoW. It wasn't hard, it was just a long fucking grind, and the netherpollen (or whatever the hell it was) that wasn't a repeatable turn-in irritated me to no end. I ended up with over a thousand of them by the time everything was said and done, couldn't sell them, and ended up just destroying them. RAGE.

Id say the most annoying Ive ever done is the flags in Assassins Creed. I got 99 out of 100 of the kingdom flags and couldnt find the last one, and from that point on I didnt go after any of the other flags.

Oh man. Contingency on veteran was terrible.

OP: For me it was 100% on Assassin's Creed 2. Even with a guide finding all the damn feathers was a pain.

Not ps3 or xbox360 but PC Team Fortress 2 pyromancer caused me the most grief took me 2 years to get it.

As for console achivement it would have to be the mill worker achivement for fallout 3 especially when you fall through the floors trying to find them all due to the bugs (took me 9 hours to finally get them all and countless fall through floor deaths)

Getting the flags in Assassins Creed 1. A glitch in the game meant that though I got a certain flag, it wasn't recorded. I spent so long looking for a single flag before realising what had happened.

So yeah, I did the whole game again.
youre a better man than me

What achievement on the 360 or PS3 caused you the most grief to obtain, so much so you'd never want to do it again?

For me, it has to be the Leonidas achievement in BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. A boss that takes away 70% of your life in one move and regenerates his health after should not be permitted in a fighting game.
We better not be talking about Unlimited Ragna. Because I hate Unlimited Ragna. He's incredibly unfair.

When I tried that game on veteran it didn't seem too much more difficult. Except for the FUCKING FAVELA LEVEL!
Gods, how I hate that level, hours of frustration and getting nowhere
My personal hell was loose ends. I think I saved where an enemy was juuuuuuuuuuust about to pwn me, and couldn't get out of it. NOOOO!! I never got it. I got all the other vet achievements, but not this one.
