Hello everyone

I didnt see any topics about this per say, so I thought oh to hell with it why not. After that last steam sale I got some 'oldies but goodies'. I grabbed quake because I had fond memories of it as a kid sneaking to the PC at night to go and blow stuff to bits a bit whilst my parents were asleep. Admittedly it hasnt aged exceptionally well but I had a complete blast playing through it haha.

Anyone else got that feeling by any game? What are some of your top picks, maybe you can remind someone else of a game that was loads of fun to play at an earlier time or maybe you'll give someone of the newer generation something fun to screw around with. As for me personally, I'll toss in: -drumroll-

Quake and Hexen

So my dear escapists? What have you recently played that got your nostalgia in gaming bubbling and just plainly had a blast?

Captcha: you are happy...damn straight I am at the moment^^

Pretty much any game I played nine or more years ago.

I recently picked up Pokemon: Alpha Sapphire, which I'm sure will welcome me back into its arms and lovingly hold me once I actually put some time into it. But I've currently been playing the Final Fantasy franchise from the beginning since I'd never played I-VI before, and I'm only on III at the moment and I'm planning on going through at least XII.

I want to get Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMix for Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and that's a series that I love replaying. Went through the entire series (with the exception of the original DS games) when I got a 3DS last year, and for the first time I decided to be a completionist. ... It didn't actually work, as I ended with an average of 98% completion across the franchise.

Sonic the Hedgehog and Star Wars games are always good for a nostalgia-kick, too.

Intense nostalgia is activated by Banjo Kazooie (and Banjo Tooie), Star Fox 64, Donky Kong Country 64, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World.

Mini-nostalgia is activated by Guild Wars 1 (particularly pre-Searing Ascalon), Earthworm Jim, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Pokemon Red/Blue.

Old ass Star Wars games. Galactic Battlegrounds, any of the Rogue Squadrons, even the Pod Racer game I have yet to repurchase. I already have KotOR (1 and 2), the entire Jedi Knight series, and now x-wing and tie fighter.

If we're talking nostalgia in playing old games recently, then it's: Age of Empires II

If we're talking nostalgia in merely thinking about games, and about having played them, I think the top 3 would be:

Sid Meier's Pirates! (which is at the top and will probably remain there forever)
SimCity
Civilization
