We've all had these ideas. Every time we hear a guitarist shredding in a song, or we watch someone draw something incredible, we always think to ourselves "Man, I wish I was freakishly good at [insert skill here].".

So, fellow escapists, if you could raise one skill to savont levels, with no detriment to any of your other current skills and abilities, what would it be and why?

Personally, I'd choose a musical instrument. Either guitar or piano, but probably the former to the point where I could just pick up any guitar and play anything I could think of effortlessly.

EDIT: I do want to clarify here that this thread relates to skills, not abilities such as memory etc.
A skill is something you can learn and refine, wheras memory is an inherent ability that everyone has from birth.

I would pick languages, because knowing other languages is immensely convenient and sexy.

I would like to speak Russian. Then I would have the hat AND the accent. Nothing could stop me then! NOTHING!

I'd quite like to have a perfect photographic and audiographic memory.
It would make revising for tests so much easier and would also be great fun as you could ace pub quizzes and be a walking wikipedia.

(Guess what I'm meant to be doing right now! Yep, revising for a test, how did you guess?)

I'd upgrade my brain, of course. Eidetic memory, please.

-EDIT- Ninja'd. And for the exact same reason as well.

Painting/designing/modelling skills to the point of whatever I touch turns into art. That would be nice. And profitable.

I'd have a natural talent for learning and a highly relative memory.
Whats the point of knowing a whole stack of stuff if in ten years alot of it is going to be obsolete. At least with a talent for learning; updating and focusing on specific knowledge would be easy. Plus if anyone says you didn't put the work in you could shoot them down.
As for the highly relative memory, that's just so everything fits in with everything else smooth and snuggly.

Math and Science I guess, it would be real nice to be able to invent and create things and have everyone recognize you as a prodigy. I wouldn't need English if I could rewrite Shakespeare using a series of complex numbers and algebraic equations!

I would like to be a better writer, though I think any creative who leans towards the printed word has the same idea.

I would like to be a world-class arguer. To the point that I always knew the exact phrase to say to make anyone think anything. I would be able to convince you to convert to Norse paganism with two sentences, then turn you into a fundamentalist Jedi with another two. That would be so cool.

Piano. Most of my favourite music is classical, and I'm currently kind of average on piano. So... Yeah. It'd definitely be epic to be really good at playing piano (both reading music and improv).

Like that guy in Resident Evil Extinction (the 3rd movie)! Forget what his name was.

I would have instant skill at creating art (art as in drawing/painting and 3d modelling). This way I would be to project my creative ideas into physical form (e.g. drawing a comic scene onto a paper at ease). I would be able to create it within minutes while it can take days or weeks for someone to create it.
