I used to think about how kewl a Mafia MMO would be a few years ago. But it would probably just end up as a mix of Dope Wars & The Godfather so meh maybe not. (dreams of there being a Gangsters 3 game one day)

A puzzle/strategy game where you control zombies to infect a city.
What he said.

Either that, or my ideal game is actually a game set inside a city that is being infested by zombies. You control a group of survivors located inside the city all with diffrent skills and abilities (some can repair stuff, some can pick locks, some are good with guns, some are doctors etc etc etc.)

The game would be played from an isometric view, and the city would be completely free roaming, every single building in the city can be entered, you could set up safe sounds by barricading certain buildings, you could utilize materials to build safe walks between buildings to avoid the hordes of zombies outside. The focus of the game would be more about surviving then annihilating the zombie menace. All your survivors would have needs (toilet, food, water) And so you would have to take care of them, making daring raids into stores to get supplies to keep them alive.

As the game progressed random other groups of survivors would be placed in the city (or maybe the game mechanics could be so advanced that their actually would be other AI bots that survived the initial infection. And you would be able to interact with these other survivors (expand your team, if they are friendly, fight them and steal their stuff if they are hostile)

I could keep going, but I think that puts out the general gist.

I have had an idea for a MMORPG set in the early 900's in Japan. The games main driving "Gimmic" is the ability to make your own fighting style. Sort of like the create a trick in THUG. You can shape and sculpt each stance, swing, punch, block and even hidden techs. Allowing for a true difference between players. In gameplay the player can change between offensive, defensive and neutral stances. Each stance is your own make so it makes combat with other players very diffrentfeeling. So a PVP option is a must.

You'll know what my idea is as soon as I learn to code... Or sell it to a studio... And curse anyone who wants to stand on the throat of that particular dream.

It's a game about nothing.

Nothing at all.

Just driving to work, NOTHING happens.

Working at work, NOTHING happens.

Talking to George Constanza, NOTHING happens.

The Sims 2 - Zombie edition. Or maybe, The Sims - Aliens, where you play the original game using aliens on another (free-roaming) world, with different needs to the human characters (e.g. different toilet habits, food sources, etc.).

How about some sort of a Western esq RPG. Open ended affair where you could build up a possy and play a sheriff or group of banditos running from the law and terrorising towns. Maybe you'd choose a native american tribe and going skalping or head a merchant wagon or group of pioneers. I'm a sucker for westerns so would like to see what a decent publisher could do with the idea.

Was a reference to Seinfield, but actually GTA4 fits that bill perfectly.

How about a man's game. Cut the cute titles, we'll just call it "Titties'n'Beer."

The premise of the game is that you play a man's man - A manly man's man. To prove this, we've replaced your health bar with a Manly Meter. It goes up when you do manly things like kicking ass without spilling your beer or eating raw steak... but also goes down for things like ordering a mixed drink or calling a girl back for a second date.

It will have difficult moral dilemma's, like do you beat down the jackass at the bar with your bar stool, or smash your beer over his head before jamming the broken glass into his face. Sure the second option would award you more manly points, but at the loss of a beer. (sad face).

Your enemies will consist of the worst that the universe has to offer with racially profiled terrorists, nazis, probing space aliens and even dragons (that's right, we accomodate). The fighting, which will be done with the 3rd person sandbox style so you can watch how manly you are as you curb-stomp Puff, will only be extra. The real purpose of the game is to drink beer and chase girls. If you can master their clever mind games, you may become the ultimate manly man... and have the girls buying drinks for YOU.

As for acheivements... seeing as how I feel that they take away from the game, they'll be for doing very unmanly things like writing poetry or asking for a hug...

DLC will be free and feature new skins of the same enemies you fight endlessly... and of course... more bewbs!

Don't worry...I got the reference...

Seinfeild is just the most amazing show ever that I didn't feel I needed to point it out =P

I have thought of a good fighting game that rips nothing off (I believe). My idea is a combat game where at the beginning you would have a certain amount of 'tokens' which would serve as a character base so you create your characters entirely. Through the game you pick up more tokens and fight more and more heavily armed and complex beings. Also as you progress you would get experience points to spend on special attacks(spelling?) or on strength, speed, agility...

Wow, some good ideas so far.

I thought what whould be funs is a FPS, except a big grizzly space marine your a tiger.
Like a tiger in the jungle. You have to go around and do "missions" like stalking and pouncing prey, fight for territory against other tigers, explore the jungle, and even fight a human hunter. The view would be like Mirrors Edge, except you'd also have tiger senses, like you can see in the dark, you can track scent (like a glowing dust trail), and see opportunities to jump or climb on stuff.
I thought that be a cool game. Maybe not something you can do for long hours. Maybe you can have different gameplays, like maybe do it through the eyes of a lion, or cheetah. Maybe even have a few on non-predetors. Imagine climbing a rugged snow-capped mountain as a Mountain Ram, jumping from stone to stone in first-person.

This is the most recent one of these threads I could find, and I thought necromancy would be preferred to making a new thread.
So, anyway, I had a dream which included Newton, last night, I thought this was rather weird. Eventually I came to the conclusion that a side-scrolling puzzle-platformer based on Einstein, Tesla and Newton would be an epic idea. I spent 5-10 minutes coming up with ideas, and now I will present you, my dear Escapists, with what I have!

Each character has to have their own abilities that set them apart from the others, of course. Tesla would be both impervious to electric and be able to wield it, like a mage character. The mana-bar would be replace with a static bar. To generate static, he has to rub his arms/legs together.

Newton is your standard warrior-type character. His weapons of choice are throwing apples, which would do less damage and have a shorter range than Tesla's static, but wouldn't need to be charged. Newton's main weapon would be a bucket attached to a rope, used for swinging at enemies. I'm undecided on whether it should double as a grappling hook.

Einstein is similar to a rogue. He would be able to manipulate both time and space. I know manipulating space is potentially game-breaking, so I've decided it can only be used to retrieve his friends. I'll provide an example. Let's say projectiles are being fired rapidly. Neither Newton nor Tesla can dodge them, so it's up to Einstein. He could slow time down enough to hop the projectiles and then, once he is safe, manipulate space to bring his allies to him.

Thoughts?

Id say the teleportation mechanic has been severly underused, i can think of only portal which uses it effectivly and that is a fukin epic game, id say pretty much that with maybe a sword or other weapons in a openworld or sandbox game, as it would be insanely fun online, you can finaly get where you need to be fast and untold funness to be had

A game, 3rd person something, where the main character had the ability to turn into mobile sticky liquid.
