So I've had a song stuck in my head for a week now. Bubbling up randomly no matter how hard I do to purge it. So, in a hope that by spreading my ear worm to others, and inflicting audio torture upon them, I could at least have company in my misery, if not purge it outright.

So feel the paaaaain!!

*Disclaimer* I don't actually hate this song, I find it funny as hell, but it IS currently stuck in my head.

So share you own personal ear worm songs! Lets create a sonic pandemic of songs that just won't die!

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I make no apologies for this:
I was going to be annoyed with it before they had Rockapella show up, its still not the original song but its good.

Next time I get something stuck in my head I'll post it, but I'm not deliberately looking for an ear worm just to post.

I 100% promise that im not trying to bring any TLoU2 conversation here, and any and all additional comments about the game etc should be directed to the relevant thread, but since i've played it, I've had Ellie's rendition of A-Ha's Take On Me stuck in my head

A song? As in singular? Oh, I how I envy you.

I cannot hear the phrase "it's been a long day" without that song (from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) going through my head again.
Seasons of Love, Life Support, and Finale B (Rent) and the Tonight Quintet (West Side Story) randomly pop into my head all the damn time. As does Agony (Into the Woods), Hasa Diga Eebowai (Book of Mormon), The Internet is for Porn (Avenue Q)...if you want to avoid ear worms, avoid musical theater because those songs will never leave!

And now you've gone and put them all back in my head again. I hope you're happy! ...Oh dammit.

Got this song I don't even think I like that much, but it seems to have parasitically nestled in the deepest darkest confines of the mind alongside repressed childhood traumas and that one horribly critical voice;

Personally, it's the two vocals that follow each other so strictly it comes off dry and dispassionate. Same artist covering the same artist much better here;

That would be probably inspired by the original band's unplugged version (also appeared in deadpool 2 I think), was weird coming across that moment in game as had been playing it on instrument literally earlier the same day.

Does it have to include vocals?

I've had a few tracks stuck in my head for a while, but none have lyrics, so not sure if you'd count them.

Last actual song that was an earworm was this, but long since came and went (though might come again now I had to look it up on YT again) -.-

Two out of the 5 songs I posted have no lyrics. so it's fair to say that counts.

This has been an earworm for years, to the point I hummed parts of it at random. It helped me realize this is probably my favourite song I've ever heard in my life. It's a sad song, but it's incredibly beautiful. As morbid as this is, I think I want it for my funeral

It's really petty gatekeeping on my part, but I generally don't classify pieces of music without a vocal element or lyrics to be 'songs'. Semantics and pedantry, to be sure, I know.

As an example, it's irrational, I'm well aware, but I get a kneejerk reaction in the vein of supreme agitation when people call music such as baroque instrumental chamber music or Classical classical orchestral (no choir) pieces 'songs'.

Don't be too hard on yourself or songs without lyrics. There are many times a song without lyrics can get point across, give you feeling just as much, or more than a song with lyrics. Everyone has their personal preferences.

Definitely, the (different, it should be noted) emotional responses the two following pieces stir in me puzzle people, but eh, I appreciate it:

Not to say that Bach fans are not to be found, but earnest heartfelt love for this sort of music is kinda rare in my experience (hell, it puzzles my wife), accusations of pretentiousness or otherwise.

Honest question, though, would you classify the second piece as a 'song', per se? Because I feel you misunderstood my irritation, which, to be certain, is quite irrational. As a traditionally/conventionally/classically educated former musician, 'songs' were meant to be sung (whether casually or formally), hence lyrics, but they could be separated into what would now be called songs as well as cantatas, chorales, oratorios etc., while instrumental music had its' various forms whether it be inventions, chaconne/ciaccona, fugues, concertos, preludes or passicagliae etc. Consequently, it grinds my gears to no end that people (I'll freely admit, I'm aware it's through simple ignorance, and not wilful disdain, because seriously, without looking it up in a musical dictionary (or google) how many people in this forum could define every musical form I've listed? (I'm sure some can, but most, in all likelihood, can't)) conflate them all into 'songs'.

The second video you posted either makes me feel like in church or Castlevania. I consider it a song. For me I am not picky when it comes to most songs. A wonderful piece like this may have a fancy name or style labeled, but is still a song. Concert and symphonic band in school gave me a higher appreciation for classical or symphonic music, though it's not something I listen to the most. More of a jazz and all variety person when it comes to most music.
