It's always a bit painful when you enter a "Top Whatever In Music" thread and find that your list doesn't quite fit the topic. So, make your own rules and list!

TOP FIVE SCREAMS IN MUSIC
I'm not talking constant screamers (those are boring), I'm talking about primal howls that add to the feel of a song (but don't dominate it) or just come right outta nowhere!
<spoiler=5: Art Star by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs><youtube=4PBl2qsYtDo&start=77&end=106>
This one gets on here because, while it's not a very impressive scream, it's bookended by "doot doos" and spoken-word verses. The surreality alone elevates it to the top five.
This is the best song that :wumpscut: ever put out.
<youtube=QEc4zQ80NFs&start=333>
It's also the most utterly terrifying song :wumpscut: ever put out, and that's saying a LOT.
<spoiler=3: Half Day Closing by Portishead>Portishead, pioneers of trip-hop, are known for their slower and more pleasant music, often in a minor key, with the ever-fragile and slightly weepy voice of Beth Gibbons cutting through the mix. So when you're used to Beth's voice sounding like it couldn't even move a feather at full force, and you're listening to a melancholy and surprisingly loud set of choruses where it sounds like her voice is at its limits in Half Day Closing, it's always a bit of a shock when... this happens.

It's even more jarring live!

<spoiler=2: Careful With That Axe, Eugene by Pink Floyd>Oh come on, you knew this was going to end up in here somewhere.
<youtube=sNnuDkZC5Ks&start=185&end=230>
It's pretty much the current set standard for "sudden out-of-nowhere howl of the damned". Why? Because that's what Pink Floyd does.
<spoiler=1: Come To Daddy (Pappy Mix) by Aphex Twin>AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
