Why do you think EGS is wooing over devs aside from the buyout? To be a part of a storefront that doesnt allow porn is a good selling point
The EGS ain't much better, and they can fuck off. I get why small and big time devs/publishers do it, and I don't hate them for it. But let's be honest, most of the devs could not give a shit about the porn games. That's not the reason many of them flocked to EGS; it's bigger bang for the buck. Nothing more, nothing less. Steam ain't perfect nor the 'good guys' either, but at least they have a fucking shopping cart and still have their site and app together, and actually functional. Besides, I've rarely ever encountered the shitty games or porn games on the web site. If you don't like them, don't buy them. Simple as that. I will say that GOG is better than both Steam and EGS, but I have no need for GOG. I am glad they are still going strong. Hell, EA's Origin is better than EGS.

Ah, hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. The perfect excuse not acknowledge the existence of something wrong through intentional ignorance. That I will have to wholly disagree with because the mere existence means PayPal and other Payment processors have some excuse to one day make Steam liable. That is why EGS doesn't have to worry about risking losing payment processors is because a storefront with a huge fanbase consisting of minors means they can't have porn games lest poor little timmy stumbles upon porn shovelware on the egs store and his parents sue epic for access to adult content.

Better to not have access to that storefront than risk a liability, better off on MangaGamer and dlsite where you know the audience how small it may be

I never implied nor said that; your way off base. You know me at this point to never put words in my mouth.

You missed my rant where I said I hate PayPal and never trust it. If Steam does get punished, so be it. Most of these app stores should be punished for their assholerly. EGS is no exception, even if they have nothing involved with PayPal. Epic Games are assholes in general that pretend to think they're the under dog or the de-facto good guys. If you buy in to all of their bullshit, then it's hopeless for you and your already brainwashed. Think for yourself, instead of your overlords or your absurd insecurities.

they can't have porn games lest poor little timmy stumbles upon porn shovelware on the egs store and his parents sue epic for access to adult content.
You have to be 18 to have an account for all of these digital store fronts. Besides, your pathetic reasoning is nothing more than a generic:

Better to not have access to that storefront than risk a liability, better off on MangaGamer and dlsite where you know the audience how small it may be
And there we go again with the self hating weaboo rhetoric you never shut up about. I'm gonna do myself a favor and end this conversation, because we done this already with a similar topic. You're boring me and you have nothing to add. I prefer Steam (not a hardcore fan of Valve either. I got problems with them too as a reminder) over EGS, deal with it or don't. I don't care; I'm moving on to something else.

Why do you think EGS is wooing over devs aside from the buyout?
Because Epic shells out staggering amounts of money and offers deals ridiculously slanted in the devs favour, as has been well established from the court documents from the Epic/Apple suit. This is why the storefront is a giant financial black hole that loses Epic money hand over fist on everything that's not Fortnite.

They are making enough from fortnight that they can absorb the loss but if the next big thing comes out and fortnite loses players quick then they are right fucked.

It will happen at some point. Nothing last forever, and people will get bored. I will be laughing my ass off when it does.

Well, the thing about the N64 controller I agree with (though it did work pretty well for some games), but if we went into the Genesis vs. SNES thing, we would have to kung-fu fight.
Kung fu fighting?

Sega would win. Its mascot is as fast as lightning.

On the other hand, the Boos from Mario are a little bit frightning.

Bayonetta's character design is freaking horrendous.
It's awesome and she wears it fucking well, thank you! I admit that I do prefer her look in the second game. That itself is a hot take, because I've seen obsessed fans of her original design saying that her sequel design makes her look "too old" or like "mom". Whatever the fuck that means. If anything, Jeanne is the one that looks horrendous in the first game. It's the make up that looks really off on her. Thankfully, the sequel fixed that.

If anything, Bayo is one of the best character designs for a hack n slash character and a stand out for the 2010s in general.

  • Dante from Dante's Inferno looks overly stupid and "edgy".
  • War from Darksiders looks over done and too busy.
  • DmC (2013) Dante looks more generic than every brown haired white dude video game protagonist. "Realism" is fucking boring.
  • Aya and Kagura (Onechanbara series) while look great in their respective bikinis are nonsensical and does not make sense in a zombie apocalypse. Yes, they have super human and super natural strength, a bikini is something I would not call battle ready when fighting zombies. Say what you will about Lollipop Chainsaw, but Juliet Starling's cheerleader out fit makes sense as one: that is what she does, and two: she was not expecting zombies to show up on her 18th birthday, but was crazy prepared with her weapon.
  • Ayumi from X-Blades looks like a teenager's first anime character on the deviant art page. Does any actually remember this game?
The reason Bayo's outfit is so iconic, is because it's simple, effective, and actually sticks out compared to all of the other crap from 2010s. Where most Western AAA titles were too busy being brown haired generic dude, bald/shaved head, or something lame. While the Japanese side tended to vary in quality or was too niche.

It's not the outfit necessarily, it's the proportions (not those) and how her hair is fused to her shoulders and back. I've never been a fan of the 'very smal head on seemingly averaged sized body' design that Japan can sometimes go for. The coneshaped hair bun doesn't do her any favors either. And the super long legs feel weirdly animated both in her run cycle and during the mo-capped cutscenes. But then (here's another hot take) I think pretty much every design in Bayonetta is kinda awful. Everything feels overly designed and has those early 7th gen, oily looking, Team Ninja graphics (I know it's Platinum, but that what the visuals remind me off). Platinum has never really done it for me, both gameplay wise and visually. The one time they got close on both fronts was with Astral Chain.

Not if they fight with expert timing.

First of all that character design that you mentioned with the small head on the average body is way worse with most other Japanese games than Bayonetta. I know it looked awkward at first, but I'm so used to it. If anything Bayonetta's proportions are more realistic compared to most of the designs of female characters from Japanese games. Especially if we're talking about dead or alive. As far as the oily look, that is more so a problem with the first game. Unfortunately, Platinum did follow the trend of having the muted color palette. They fix this with the sequel to make things more colorful. Third, most of the character designs in Bayo one and two are awesome. They're hammy, over the top as hell, and it all works.

I know you've gone about this rant about the world's feeling empty, but first and foremost, these are arcade brawlers. Now I'm not saying they can't have a world full of people, but if you're looking for that you're going to have to look else. If they did do that, it would eat up the frame rate and make combat less fluid. At least you get a couple of people in early levels, but it makes sense that Bayonetta wants to keep herself invisible to normals. I know the closest was Astral Chain, but that was just a gimmick that got kind of boring for me around the halfway point. You start off in the normal world and collect clues, and then you go to the other world where it's just full of monsters. I appreciate the effort of them trying, but it did not do much for me.

Honestly the porn games wouldn’t bother me so much f we could age gate them off better. But whatever, as long as they keep the actual criminal shit off the store then Steam can do as it pleases.

And Epic Game Store is a pile of shite and I hope it collapses and takes Fortnite with it.

I do not mind that, but like I said before, they rarely ever show up in my recommendation list. Only one ever showed up, and after that none of them showed up ever again.

Agreed.

Home front: The Revolution had a basic urban stealth/action guerrilla resistance map-clearing loop which should've been far better served in a different story with a different enemy takeover I think. There were moments where it almost felt like you were under the Half Life 2 combine oppression in a locked down city as you sneak about trying to build your chums into something barely useful.

Unfortunately those moments were brief, and the game would've been way cooler if the oppressor enemy weren't silly fleshy earth humans but intimidating aliens with scary technology or some shit, and if the game made it way more difficult to get caught in firefights to encourage clever strategising against a massively superior presence including reverse-engineered alien technology of course. Maybe a larger emphasis on communication, coordination and subterfusion during liberation missions with further systems meant to maintain liberated areas as peacefully as possible without attracting big attention too?

I dunno, the essential open-ended stealth liberation gameplay in a densely oppressed developed city has a certain appeal to me which this game made me realise I wanted, though it couldn't quite provide, but almost! For a second, almost.

Beat'em ups are not as repetitive as many "professional" critics or anti-brawler fans have you believe. It's just that they don't bother to explore the games mechanics or blaze through the game, button mashing their way through. All without much thought and care. There are brawlers that are button mashers, yes, but that pretty much died down the early to mid 2000s.
Sorry to necro, Brawl, and Bmups are the genre that is dearest to my heart, but beat em ups walk a razor line and can all too easily fall apart. Yes repetitiveness can happen but only if your main characters and enemies are too indistinct and samey (the former being one of the things that dragged down Mother Russia Bleeds) Totally with you on button mashing being MOSTLY dead tho.

I don't disagree with you there and it can still happen, but the same thing can be said about TPS or FPS games. If there is not much that stands out about the character(s) or enemies you fight, it gets too boring and samey. It's why did not bother with Mother Russia Bleeds. Like any other game, it's important to have decent-to-great combat, character variety (visual and play style), level design/variety, and most importantly, music.
