Zeno Clash Probably Coming to Xbox 360
Bizarre indie first-person brawler Zeno Clash will likely be making its way from the PC to Xbox Live Arcade, says ACE Team co-founder Carlos Bordeu.
Zeno Clash was a really, really weird game. That isn't to say it wasn't a good game, because it was [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/6010-Review-Zeno-Clash]. It was just weird. A first-person shooter/brawler/fighting game set in a surreal fantasy world filled with anthropomorphic animal-things and cavemen? Zeno Clash was certainly an experience.
Apparently, it was an experience that indie development studio ACE Team thought deserved to be on more platforms than just the PC. "We've been having conversations about a possible XBLA version of the game and we're currently talking with a publisher, but we still haven't closed that yet. But it's something we'd really like to do," ACE co-founder Carlos Bordeu told Eurogamer [http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/zeno-clash-heading-to-console].
Bordeu said that should the title see an XBLA release, it would have additional content not available in the PC version - whether or not this overlaps with the announced free DLC [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/91239-Zeno-Clash-Getting-DLC-SDK-Demo] is up in the air. "I can't tell you what it would be right now, but yes, we are looking at adding a little bit of extra content," he said.
As for why the 360, though? well, Zeno Clash is built on Valve's Source engine, and the Source engine is optimized for, you guessed it, Microsoft's console. Nothing personal, PS3 fanboys.
Hey, as long as the game retains the ability to punt pigs at your enemies in order to knock them out, I'm all for it.
