But...Rocket league is actually really good. This coming from someone who tries to ignore football and racing. No story though, that may be the clencher.

Edit: I was there! #ragdollstegasaurus2015

Been a while since I played Cave Story, though I have torn through it 5 or 6 times. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the jumping controls can be a wee bit too floaty...

Jeez... The last time I played Cave Story was when I was using the Derpy mod... Good times...

Other than that, I forget about the whole jet pack dealio...

I was wondering if you'd ever review this one.

The only part of this game that really bothered me on replays was the desert bit where you have to keeping running back and forth through the same area collecting the old lady's dogs. The floaty jumping didn't actually bother me that much.

If you have problems with the jumping, pick up the machine gun. It turns your gun into a jetpack of sorts. Plus it does great damage.

Yep that Secret ending is the bane of my Existence. Why in the hell does the difficulty spike so suddenly?

Also you can have sex with one of the cute cuddly rabbit people. So that is a thing.

Hah! Jokes on you!

GCSE English Literature was the easiest subject I ever did! They even gave us blank copies in the exam!

Now if we're talking A2 Physics with no Maths, that's a fucking challenge.

The no grabbing jetpack complaint is coming from the guy who made a game where you are a Welshman with a gun and not expected to kill any rabbits are the very start of the game! I wonder how much influence Cave story had on Yahtzee's game Poacher. Can't wait for his let's play in a couple months. Still amazed that he didn't monetize that game; I would definitely throw money at a newer version of that game.

I may have too high of standards, but I was unsatisfied with the characters in cave story. The main thing I felt Yahtzee's game Poacher did better was having the characters react in ways that were emotionally fitting to what they were reacting to. In cave story people die and it's like the player is expected to just ignore it.

Also, that experience mechanic (jamming enemies into your gun) was really irritating.

I remember loving Cave Story until the section where it randomly takes away all your weapon levels and makes you complete a bullshit precision platforming section filled with bullshit enemies.
After spending several hours dying repeatedly I decided that I was obviously not good enough for the game and quit. I haven't played it since and I don't really want to.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has made a crack about the fact that finding Curly's panties unlocks the mode where she and Quote trade placed.

Also, completing the secret ending on Cave Story is an achievement all on it's own because
you have to navigate the labyrinth where the walls, ceiling, and floor cause insta-death, make it through a room with the ceiling falling in top of you, make it through another corridor with enemies, fight a boss and not get killed by him when you do finally beat him, and then fight a four stage final boss.

By the way, while I've yet to see if this is true, there is supposedly a fourth ending where fewer of the characters die, but the qualification is to save Toroko about 15 minutes after she's kidnapped (And those 15 minutes do include the cutscenes).

Herding Hunny Badgers Hard? I will have to remember that. Is it more or less than Mega Man Hard, or Nintendo Hard?

But Mr Croshaw I don't want to play Hatfall. Now give me The Consuming Shadow so I can scratch the lambent, eldritch tumor that is my craving for Lovecraftian settings.

Gosh darn you Mr Croshaw, once more you tease at Kingdom Hearts! Just say you don't like it or kinda do, the tension is killing me. Just cleaning a spill on the floor indeed.

I remember playing Cave Story a while back and really liking it at the time, may give it a shot again. Not going for the secret ending though: had a friend who managed that and just one time watching how long it took him turned me off trying myself.

Let's get the hype train rolling for Consuming Shadow, it would be very fitting giving that shadows are very often found in caves =/

Dear, oh dear! Yahtzee has a case of Bonus Eruprus! The terrible disorder where the skeleton tries to leap out the mouth to escape the rest of the body!
And what he said about the last day of an anime convention rings true to me. At Fanime, the last day is Memorial Day, it officially ends at 3 p.m., and the place is practically dead compared to Thursday-Sunday. The mass exodus of fans packing up, checking out, and going home begins in the morning and goes on all day.

Do you mean the secret ending part? If so it was meant to be hard. But you could still level up your weapons so not sure where you got that from.

He's talking about the area right after the last boss battle in the desert zone.
The one where you kill Toroko. After doing that, you get thrown into a prison type place (Which is the one Fractral is talking about). Once you get out, then you fight all those cockroaches.
