I'm really loving this game so far, and I really want to give a complete and utterly detailed analysis of it, but it's just too damn long!! I'm 50 hours in and haven't even seen 60% of the world yet.
Anyway, Yahtzee makes some good points. Especially as a rogue the game is far easier than it should be, especially when it comes to certain bosses. It has its share of frustratingly hard parts, but they're far between. I plan to run around naked the last part of the game to see it's it's just my hoarding doing it.
Still, I like it better than Skyrim, and that's probably the best compliment I can give it.

The Camera thing is a bit of a pain in the ass, especially in Ysa where you're missing out like 80% of the environment unless you stop to look around with the camera.

Still really enjoyed the game though. Going through it a second time now.

Specialisations:
Brawler
Fighter
Soldier
Warrior
Barbarian
Brain Blessed

Hell yeah, I know which one I would choose.

Good episode this week, had me laughing from start to finish, plus I know to play this before Skyrim now, thanks!

This about sums up my exact thoughts on the game so far. I would like to beat it but its hard because its so stupidly easy.

I see I'm not the only one to whom this game seems like a singleplayer muhmorpeger.

I agree with the opening point - I'm bloody sick of frail elves, dwarves with English accents and green orcs. There was really no need for another game in this kind of setting. If you can't come up with something original, then why not at least use a setting that hasn't been done to death already?

Baby's first skyrim? Eh. Personally I love KoA:R much more than skyrim and mainly just because it looks a lot better than white black and a red dragon all the time. Oh and the brown samey Nordic dungeons. Although I am running into the same problem with KoA:R, thats for sure. In skyrim I got through the whole story no problem. Then I got so bored that I didn't even do probably half the quest I could have. Same shit happened in KoA:R except I still haven't completed the story because it is long as hell. Now I am bored with it, but I am sure I will pick it back up eventually (yeah right.)

Think I might pick this up. Love MMOs except for the social aspect. People as a rule in online games are asshats.

I personally enjoyed the game and going hybrid(Might/Finesse) actually led me to two shotting mobs.

Regarding the vid,I wouldn't expect less from you Mr.Croshaw.The references to WoW especially made me lmao.

I'm glad you said something regarding the looks of the game, although the camera really was too close up at times and you couldn't see the whole scenery, the world really looks beautifully crafted.

It's funny because it was originally going to be a MMORPG until it was bought out by Curt Schilling. I did like the baby's first Skyrim comment though, that summed up my thoughts.
But it goes deeper then that, since Skyrim's Baby's First Oblivion, which is Baby's First Morrowind.

But yeah, that makes sense, because thats basically what it is, a singleplayer MMO.

I'm a big fan of ZP's graphic humor , and this one is the funniest I've seen in a while.
I'm torn between the "THUS IT WAS WRITTEN" and "here comes the magic missile" for my favorite gag.

This has been one of the funniest Zero Punctuation in quite a while.
Bravo Mr. Croshaw, for making me laugh at a game I had previously heard nothing about!

It is like skyrim but it isn't in the sense that the story is actually probably better told than skyrim. And if anyone has any sort of knowledge of the fae with winter court and summer court it helps.

As opposed to skyrim where you can for the most part create your own story in your mind given some gentle nudges KoA basically creates the story for you and you play it. Which when it is crafted by RA Salvatore is pretty decent especially for a new IP with basically no background.

The combat is easy but honestly I played it more for the story than the combat and it was well done.

Skyrim the ending is also bland, the ending for KoA is epic and has a crescendo and closes like a good book.

Sigh, if only have more time to kill I would pick this one up in a heartbeat. The low difficulty sounds a big fault, but you can always sabotage your toon to make the game harder.

I'm also very bored of elves/dwarves/orc based fantasy games. I feel Elder Scrolls manages to get away with as it has the Argonians and Khajit also, but still, can we not all try a little harder to move away from Tolkien and towards something fresh? I think, for all it's downfalls, this is why Dark Souls was my fantasy game of the year - no whiny elves!

It's a good game to play if you get it for £20.
First game I played where I can still not remember its name off the top of my head after three weeks of casual play.

Respawning enemies does annoy. I enjoy Genociding enemy NPCs and it's depressing when they respawn.

It's nice that there are villainous Elves for once. However it would be nice if there was more imagination involved with races in fantasy. Sticking an animal face on a human is a good start, TES.

I play as Might/Magic and Trolls are my bane. They are resistant to my magical weaponry. It's not even fun hard. It's just pain in the arse hard.
It would be nice if dodging felt like you dodge. Since enemies have auto aim bot, you must time it perfectly instead of realistically. Boo.

Maybe they should make a Moomin game!
Moomin Vs The Wombles.... in space!

Let's start working on it at once!

quote="arkwright" post="6.352555.13976515"]Brian Blessed should be a class option in every game. The ability to shout all your enemy's to death and having an epic beard are a winner to me.[/quote]

Brian Blessed should be a option on everything ever!

no its just as easy for mages
blacksmithing/faction rewards really break the balance.
I'm playing a mage/rogue. Yeah... But you can create your own difficulties, like walking around naked.
