I think he was trying too hard. It wasn't what I expected =[ElArabDeMagnifico said:Why does he use the Resident Evil series "numbering" as an analogy when Armored Core is a much easier target?
About the review, I thought it was ok, dunno, just didn't find it that funny.

Anywho, stellar review, as always. I played the game for about an hour, and after my eighteenth death, I pretty much gave up.
No problem, was just curious if it had to do with something other than a change in ZP.N-Sef said:I have indeed played the game, did I like it? Yes I did, I like playing games that reward players for putting the time in. I've played almost all the games Yahtzee has reviewed, all I'm saying is that this review just wasn't as good as his older ones in my opinion, but it is an improvement over his newer ones. That's all.Specialist1924 said:N-Sef said:Yahtzee is getting ok again, after watching his older videos and his newer ones I've concluded that all he wants to do is rant rather then review these days. This review was a little more fleshed out then his previous 5, which is good. I enjoyed this, I didn't really burst out laughing like I did with the Zelda review, nor did I really crack a smile. I knew some of it was funny, but it was kind of boring this review.
That's just what I thought anyway, but he's certainly on the rise again.
I guess I would have to ask if you've played the games for the reviews you didn't find funny. There are a couple of games that I saw the ZP review for before playing them, thought the reviews were alright, but not great; then when I did get around to playing the games, the reviews were that much better.
How old? His first 5 reviews were all made before he discovered a fast talking brit living in Australia capitalizing on his accent and location would get more viewers than a normal talking person who just happens to be british and live in Australia.Jer-oh-me said:Is it just me or is Yahtzee's voice growing sharper, more angry, and way way way faster? He is selling himself out then. He should be a game reviewer first and foremost, Added comedian routine that has depth shows off professionalism. Gay jokes don't.yourkie1921 said:How old? The trouble is I see the great stallion as more than a "reviewer", Xplay lasted about 2-3 years before it got so corporate it was just not fun to watch, now with subtle changes (like opening ending bits) and his slight change of tone now and then.....it feels like hes already starting to sell himself off and not remain a creative game fan who rags on the industry even when he's raving about it.Bulletinmybrain said:He is selling himself out then. Well, I'm sure if someone told you that you could make more money by doing something you're good at already and maybe changing something about it, you'd jump on it. He's not selling himself out until he starts appearing on random commercials.Bulletinmybrain said:He is selling himself out then. I didn't think he was trying to show off professionalism until the new video start was put in. Remember the tomb raiders review, he normally goes for cheap laughs, gay jokes are in that general area. And how does talking fast with a british accent make you less of a game reviewer? I guess we could blame him for being in Australia if the rest of the escapist isn't in Australia, since they are in a bad place for videogame reviews since they ban video games (yes, I don't feel the need to add anymore detail to that. If they've ever banned a single game that is still banned I would spend every cent I have to get out of there if I were a videogame reviewer), and wait longer for games. But his accent doesn't effect anything.Bulletinmybrain said:He is selling himself out then. AHH!! I know, Morgan needs to hit Adam more often. The trouble is I see the great stallion as more than a "reviewer", Xplay lasted about 2-3 years before it got so corporate it was just not fun to watch
He's still doing that. And the last game he reviewed that he liked was painkiller and he was ragging on the gaming industry in that reviewnow with subtle changes (like opening ending bits) and his slight change of tone now and then.....it feels like hes already starting to sell himself off and not remain a creative game fan who rags on the industry even when he's raving about it.
I understand hes still raging, but the blood is in the water and the cooperate leaches will drain him dry and say 5ish years, 1-2 to get a real show..er...V show(sorry I couldn't help that one ^_~) 1-3 to to be drain dry from the experience, even if he dose not go fully mainstream he will change but change how who knows, for now hes still good enough for my not to get my nazi gamer pantsu in a bunch ^_~.yourkie1921 said:I didn't think he was trying to show off professionalism until the new video start was put in.
