As cool as this story is, thankfully no one was killed, just think how bad it could have been if one of the first people there was one of the 'kids' that mixes reality with fantasy. They might have pulled out a gun on the dressed up people and killed them. It would have been a huge swarm against games and gamers again because of it and how it messed with a person's mind. Come to think of it, my post here auctally makes me afraid to dress up as such for fear of running across such a person and being killed by accident. You know it's going to happen one day.

And what type of  confusion are we talking about exactly- the passengers so badly mauled in the accident that they had just come back from the dead or confusion that a car full of people could be carrying 5 people dressed as zombies to begin with?

You sir are correct, what you are forgetting is that they are Living dead. Hence they are dead, but still alive. As in not truly dead. That's where the name comes from.
