Facebook have finalised their changes to the long standing partnership with the games developer Zynga, which cuts a lot of the support that Facebook previously gave to the company.

Zynga, who's greatest success, Farmville will no longer allow players to publish their in game achievements on Facebook. Other Zynga titles will also not be allowed to access player's facebook pages in a similar fashion. Zynga will also not be allowed to advertise their own platform, Zynga.com, on Facebook. Likewise Facebook's adevertising will no longer appear on Zynga's site.

The decision heralded a 13% price drop in Zynga's shares. Many consider it to be the death knell of the company, after the closure of it's studio in Boston as part of cost cutting measures.

80% of Zynga's traffic is believed to come from it's link with the Social Media giant, but Facebook's new stance is set to place Zynga back on the same level with other developers that make games for the site.

A statement from Facebook read "We have streamlined our terms with Zynga so that Zynga.com's use of Facebook Platform is governed by the same policies as the rest of the ecosystem,".

The changes will take effect from the 31st of March, 2013.

Zynga's slowly bleeding out. Someone should just put them out of their misery already.
