I normally despise prequels for many reasons but I have to write, this one looks pretty great. And that kid looks so much like a younger version of Tony. Wonder if CGI played a part. Or just great casting. It appears to be a movie rather than a new spin off series, so the pain of watching a prequel will be limited.
Nope, but I know this is something my mom and my older brother are going to enjoy. Mafia movies do nothing for me. Once you seen four or five of them, you've seen them all.
Is it though? I feel we saw enough of Tony's backstory in the show. And from the looks of this trailer this movie seems to try and capitalize on the 'badass mobster' image, which the show generally rallied against by portraying them as a bunch of old screw-ups getting lost in the forrest and losing their shoes.
The trailer looks like it's selling something completely divorced from what the show looked and felt like. Makes it seem like a generic period action movie. And I'm not sure I like Tony being the focal point of the story. Honestly I'm hoping they packaged it like this just to reach an audience past the fandom, and that it isn't representative of the actual movie at all.
