The point of the article was that nobody knows what the ideal levels for vitamin d are. And vitamin d hasn't even been studied for things outside of bone health until very recently. WE DON'T KNOW. You act like we do know when we don't. We know that you need higher than 12.5 ng/ml for better covid outcomes. Where's the studies that are saying taking 5,000 or 10,000 or 20,000 IUs a day is dangerous? Nowhere to be found. It really makes no sense that you're for something (masks) that have even less data for working than vitamin d that has more data for it working when both things have basically no adverse effects whatsoever. Both are basically "better safe than sorry" yet you're against one but for the other, and vitamin d is even cheaper than masks.
No, I'm totally for people taking vitamin D: just not stupid levels of vitamin D far above recommendations. This is in fact completely consistent: wear a mask as a reasonable precaution, take vitamin D as a reasonable precaution.

You however are completely unbalanced in your opinion. You think everyone should be taking an order of magnitude more than the RDA of vitamin D as a precaution. Well, as a logically consistent precaution in the realm of masks, you should be recommending everyone goes around everywhere in an N95 respirator or better. In fact the opposite is true: you are cavalier and dismissive of masks. Thus you are trying to argue massive precautions in one and very few precautions in the other. Unbalanced, illogical, unscientific garbage.

No, we really don't know that better than 12.5 ng/ml improves covid outcomes. If you think that, it merely means you've either taken the opinion of someone with an unsound scientific opinion or you've flubbed reading scientific papers yourself. Your understanding of the evidence base for vitamin D generally is just garbage. You know basically fuck all.

Where's the science saying covid spreads outside yet alone that masking outside reduces the almost nil amount of outside transmission? Nowhere to be found.
It is not my problem that you don't understand science and don't want to listen.

People aren't in rooms with other people for 15-20 mins.
It is not my problem that you don't understand the use of figurative examples to explain the real world.

Far more basis and data than masks that just have that Dannish study and Bangladesh study? While past mask studies have also never showed any results against airborne pathogens while vitamin d has stronger data for the flu than masks have for the flu.
Let me reconstruct that for all the useful informational content that it is worth: "Blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah blah, blah blah."

If you didn't post BS papers before...
I've supplied reasonable papers for the purpose. That you're just too fucking inept at scientific analysis to understand what's going on is your problem.

You are literally everything that is worst about amateurs in science. No clue what you are doing, no honesty, no neutrality, and hopelessly arrogant and over-confident. Despite me telling you time and time again that the important thing is an overall grasp of the wider literature and not to over-rely on individual studies, you still fail to properly review the literature, and whine and moan and expect some sort of "super-study" that's going to be the final word. I'm giving you fair, representative studies of the side of science you are trying to ignore, and what you're doing is complaining they aren't the "super-study" that is the only thing that will apparently satisfy you, despite the fact that your entire belief is based on a load of studies that are at best no better than mine and at worst utter drivel, which you lack the honesty or scientific skill to recognise.

So don't you fucking dare call any paper I put in here bullshit, because at least I've put in basic quality checks - far exceeding anything you ever have whilst you've been plaguing thread after thread on covid with trash.

Found this interesting take on how the idea of using the horse de-wormer ivermectin first got off the ground. Also thought it dove-tailed nicely into the ongoing discussion about what studies can be considered reliable or not.

Added bonus: never thought I would hear a sentence include the words "horse herpes" before. Silly me, should have known better. . . . . . I guess?

Would sneezing and coughing with a mask spread less particles or more? Obviously less. Therefore, masks work
I wonder how many anti-maskers are teaching their children to not cover their mouth with their hands or elbow when they sneeze, because it's a sign of marxist oppression?

Not sure, but if they know us Red Socialist Hordes are doing it, you can bet they'll start.

A mild relief amongst the madness.
Oh wow. The prescribing physician had no standing at the hospital and hadn't even seen the patient? I hope there was at least some form of phone consultation, because if a doctor has had no meaningful assessment of a patient, they probably shouldn't be prescribing anything at all.

Also, coincidentally I'm sure, a founding member of the FLCCC. What quinky dink!

Quick recap on FLCCC in case;

Many of these conspiracy theories are being promoted by a group of doctors who bill themselves as the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC)

Timely episode?

And of course we reached this point now.

Some of the most powerful QAnon influencers are urging their hundreds of thousands of followers to harass a Chicago hospital into treating an anti-vaccine activist with ivermectin.

Wolski, who’s known for boosting anti-vaccine and QAnon conspiracies from a bridge in Chicago, was hospitalized two weeks ago after contracting COVID-19. She is a patient at Amita Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, according to posts on her Telegram channel.

Wolski’s supporters claim that after two weeks she had convinced a doctor in the hospital to administer ivermectin, but she was then told that the hospital system would not allow any doctor to prescribe the drug to treat COVID-19 because regulatory agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have not approved it.

This did not sit well with Wolski and her followers, so Wolski’s friends launched a campaign to force the hospital authorities to relent.

The campaign, organized via her Telegram channel, which is now being run by her friends, said that Wolski “is being held as a medical hostage” and that her “advocatives” have been barred from the premises.

Wolski’s friends urged supporters to turn up on Tuesday night to protest in person. The campaign even suggested possible slogans to put on posters, including “Ivermectin Now,” “Feed Veronica” and “CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY.”

Disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who’s a central figures in the QAnon movement and has 285,000 followers on the messaging app, has boosted the campaign. Flynn had previously met Wolski, whom he called “a friend and patriot.”

But another QAnon influencer took things a step further.

Lin Wood, the pro-Trump lawyer who is one of the most prominent proponents of QAnon and who has a Telegram channel with 815,000 subscribers, urged his followers to follow his lead and harass the staff by calling the hospital directly.

“I called Amita Resurrection Hospital and spoke with a male care provider in ICU. I gave him Veronica’s name and stated that she had a legal right to try Ivermectin. He informed me that Ivermectin was not on the Amita protocol and Veronica would not receive it. When I tried to respond, he was rude, talked over me, and hung up on me,” Wood wrote on Telegram Tuesday evening.

Wood then urged his followers to “let your voices be heard,” calling the situation “medical tyranny. This is genocide. We cannot tolerate crimes against humanity.”

Wood then shared another post which provided the number for the hospital and told people to tell the hospital staff “what you think of communists who violate Nuremberg and tell them what’s coming for them.”

Numerous people in Wood’s channel, and in Wolski’s, reported that they had called the hospital, many of them complaining that the minute they mentioned the anti-vaxxer’s name, the staff at the hospital hung up on them.

“I called them. When I got a voice on the line I just said Veronica needs Ivermectin. Was immediately hung up on,” one Telegram user wrote. “Nuremberg trials will be needed soon for more crimes against humanity.”

Another woman in Wolski’s channel wrote: “I spoke to [the] receptionist and said I’m calling about Veronica Wol… (didn’t even get last name out) and she hung up on me.”

But some people did get through. “After speaking to the receptionist of that hospital and she was a wonderful woman that believes the same as we do, people are calling up and calling her all sorts of names,” a man called Des wrote.

A Telegram user called Pannada reported that a nurse she spoke to at the hospital said: “People are just calling all day and threatening them.”

The hospital did not immediately respond to VICE News’ request for comment about the situation.

Ivermectin is typically used as a dewormer in livestock animals, but can also be prescribed, in smaller doses, in humans. There is no evidence to show that it effectively treats COVID-19, but conspiracy theorists and the anti-vaxx community glommed onto the drug after the publication of a study that seemed to support its effectiveness against COVID-19.

That study was subsequently pulled due to “serious problems with their raw data” as well as plagiarism.

The CDC recently issued a warning about the increased use by COVID-19 patients of veterinary formulations of ivermectin, as well as increased reports of resulting illnesses.

The agency cited a case of a man who suffered hallucinations, confusion, and tremors after he drank an injectable form of ivermectin intended for cattle. He was hospitalized for nine days.

Oh Marjorie.

And this is what I'm talking about:

Both headlines are actual lies, so people who might be unsure or barely on the side IVM are going to be led further into that world by outright and obvious lies. Possibly to the point of taking actual animal grade IVM because "there's a dose that's good for humans, I can figure it out".
I always knew Joe Rogan was screwed up in the head. It's why I really never listen to his podcast that much and chose to deliberately ignore them. That Ohio judge needs to be fired. The FDA just said humans shouldn't take it and the judge acts as if he knows better. No Saint George signed off on that. Either that judges a friend of a friend, or those are some distant relatives of his or hers.

Oh Marjorie.

Seriously, it's like Q-anon want to die and take everyone else with them.

As for the other imbecile in power, this is not even the first time someone says we're not going to live forever. Especially if it's coming from a republican. You say that now, but the moment you get infected, you'll start crying and talk about how it's all about you and no one else and how you're the ultimate victim.
