Microsoft really needs to get their fucking shit together. One of the reason why I harp on Microsoft and talk shit about them is that I NEED them to be good. Because if they don't step it up then Sony will run away with ego and it'll end up being bad for me in the end. Sony will be even better when Microsoft gets better.
An arrogant Sony is bad. An arrogant Nintendo is bad. An arrogant Microsoft is bad. The cycle changes and repeats every couple of years. The definition of insanity.

I'd argue that Nintendo is no longer a factor tbh. They've gone off to do their own thing (which works) and are no longer big considerations towards the bigger console market. Nintendo basically locked Microsoft and Sony out of the handheld market forever, and they'll likely just continue to own that marketplace where no one else is capable of competing.

I think the big difference, currently at least, is that when Nintendo gets arrogant these days, they're only hurting their own properties. Losing money on build-your-own cardboard VR goggles, AR physical Mario cart, and shutting down tournaments for your own games is only hurting themselves in the long run

They aren't killing their own guys with crunch and then deboning another studio to compensate.

Regardless of what everyone else thinks or is the "popular" opinion, I still consider the Switch part of the console generation. Yes, they are doing their own thing, but it still counts. That doesn't change the fact of that Nintendo has gotten arrogant before, and can do so again. They also have some pretty crappy policies in place as well that they need to change or fix. So as far as I'm concerned they count. I don't care what the popular opinion is on that.

Yeah that's fine too. I have a hard time considering them part of the console "war" because I never use the switch as a console. It's always a handheld for me, for when I'm out and about or whatever. So it's kind of made that system fit into a different space.

Nintendo is far from perfect, and i think does need a big culture shift if they plan to ever make a full console again. As a handheld I mostly ignore their bullshit because it's a system that basically only ever plays Pokemon and zelda games at this point.

Nintendo make a fine console with a wide variety of games on them. Their chosen strategy is to my knowledge serving them well with good returns. Could the Switch do with a bit more grunt? Perhaps, but given current pricing of the PS5 and Xbox Series X and resultant chip shortages I think they’ll sit pretty for a while yet.

Microsoft better put those studios they bought up to good use then, because looking at Game Pass they already gave up competing directly with new games otherwise.

This game looks like bayonetta in the cutscenes but like Nier in the gameplay bits. Either way, good to see something outside of MMOs coming out of korea, and this girl looks adorable too, I like the contrast of her cuteness to the grotesque monsters she fights.

What the FUCK is that supposed to even mean?
It’s something I had to Google but here you go -
Describing someone or something [such as a song] as "a whole vibe" is the same thing as saying that person or thing is "a complete package" (or "a total package"), meaning having all the desirable traits or components. "Mood" is sometimes used instead of "vibe", for example "He is a mood" or "He is a whole mood". May 28, 2020

It's a Kotaku article; you tell me. If I had to guess, I'm assuming that title is to imply good vibes. But the way the writer posted it, I assume him or her were trying to be hip and with it. Other than that, just general stupidity.

Gonna go with this too. I've had a sense of 'get off my lawn' and 'old man yells at cloud' for the past 10-15 years of my life, but I truly don't understand this "mood" slang. Someone telling someone else a story and someone replying with "mood" on its own or "that's a mood" sounds so fucking dumb, and "that's a vibe" or whatever isn't much better. *Ramble ramble old man grumble*

Honestly, why couldn't they just describe the type of vibe, positive or otherwise is beyond me. Or just put this is an exciting and interesting game and your title. That's not that hard to figure out. You'll still grab plenty of people.

Even this video gets it right. Before anyone starts, I know that's part of the joke and is a joke, but you can tell what that person was doing right with their title.

Between this talk about vibes and a comment in a thread in Current Events, I finally figured out the tickle in the brain that this game was giving me:

You know how you can tell if an artist of a manga or sfw piece has done a lot of porn or if an anthropomorphic character was drawn by a furry? I'm getting a lot of "cute girl vs slimy monster video you can't buy with PayPal" vibes from that trailer. Not necessarily a problem, but it explains why I thought the Bayonetta or NieR comparisons were falling flat for me.

I'll be bitching about this, because the Eve in the title reminded of something, and learning it wasn't related at all disappointed me enough that the edges of my mouth drooped yet a little bit lower.

Not be confused with Project DT; another sci-fi action brawler, but is more like MGR, and has a great focus on robots. Thanks for the heads up @CriticalGaming. I am loving the look of the world already. Definitely inspired by Nier: Automata. The monster designs screams Berserk, The Thing, and Parasyte.

Well, that sure was a trailer alright. I mean the aesthetic looks fine, if a little bland, but that's offset by the showy and dynamic fights. Not for me personally but if you're into this sort of thing, mark your calendars.

No dates have been announced yet, I can definitely wait. Now then: the stylish action genre is back in a new golden age! We can thank Nier: Automata, God of War 4, and of yours truly, Devil May Cry 5. Lost Soul Aside, DT, and Project Eve will spread the genre to new heights and will inspire many others!

Nintendo.....can you please get off your ass and show whatever the hell Platinum's been doing with Bayonetta 3? This why you don't announce games too early. I know COVID is part of the factor on production and don't start! My point is that they can't even bother with a 1 1/2 minute game play trailer. The game got announced in December of 2017!
