Today, for you:

Gods Will Fall

Gods Will Fall will be free at Epic Games Store until January 13th at 5PM (your local time). As always, you can get the game through the link above, or straight from the Epic Games launcher. Either way, the game will be added directly to your Epic Games library. Keep in mind having 2FA active on your account is mandatory to nab giveaways on the Epic Games Store.
The gods’ torturous rule over humanity has lasted for millennia. Bent on cruelty and suffering, they demand to be served with blind worship through an oath of fealty pledged from every man, woman and child. To those who don't submit to the gods’ will; a slow and merciless death awaits.

Experience the brutal trials of a venturous band of warriors in their desperate plight to sever the gods’ callous grip on humanity. Every man and woman who can muster a blade, having suffered the brutality of the gods’ reign for too long, will be called upon to form your clan of 8 Celtic survivors and rise up to take on the legions of horrific beasts and minions that dwell in each of the gods’ hellish realms. A personal tale emerges with every decision made. Succeed and see legends born. Fail, and watch lives turn to dust.
Have a look if interested, and enjoy.

Next week's freebie(s) will be Galactic Civilizations III starting January 13th.

I guess they're back to regular schedule instead of one day?

PS. Thanks for still doing those announcement, sometime I wonder why escapist doesn't just put something like this on main page, but I imagine from their point of view it would be like giving away free publicity.

Yeh, the Tomb Raider trilogy was the last of the holiday freebies and they're back to weekly. Kind of wonder how long Epic will keep up the giveaways tho. It does cost them money, apparently quite a bit in some cases. Like, I can't imagine Squenix let those Tomb Raiders just go free without a substantial lump advance. And there have been indicators that their strategy of exclusives and free games is not really working out in getting people to spend money on other stuff on the store.

And you're welcome. I rather enjoy posting these, after all, who doesn't like free stuff? Also, been doing it so long it's become habit.

Well its probably a very successful way to get people to install the EGS, but to me there's immense value in having my full library on a single platform/storefront rather than split across multiple. So unless they find a way to fix that issues (and greatly improve their store, its still years behind steam) I don't see myself buying anything on it. Even exclusive don't really motivate me, I have a massive blacklog anyway, so a few game less on the pile doesn't bother me.

They've had some security breaches. But then, so did Steam
