A lot the people that worked on Outer Wilds, worked on Fallout: New Vegas. Those developers used to work at Bethesda. But even they feel that people should enjoy the game and not bring up costs and comparisons between New Vegas and their game. They even told people to play the game for the right reasons, and not just to play it to be vindictive and insulting.

I wasn't trying to make an indie versus AAA comparison, though I do prefer those games from the former than the latter. Don't know where you're getting that, but sorry for the misunderstanding there. Like I said before, just play what you want to play for the right reasons. That's all I'm saying.
Ok thx for clarifying. I'm sure I read about this stuff at some point but forgot the background.

Outer Wilds is not the other worlds, super annoying that two game with very similar name came out almost at the same time.

We're talking about outer wilds, not outer worlds, just to verify? Because the Bethesda thing reminds me a lot of the Outer Worlds(the game that's a lot like Fallout) and not the Outer Wilds(which is the Time Loop exploration game)

Thank you for the clarification. I did indeed get those two mixed up.

Yeah, the timing and the title doesn't do either game either favors. The fact both are space games with a bit of plantery travel also confuses, but tonally and mechanically they're quite different.

Not a problem. I think a lot of people get those two mixed up.

Chapter 14 in Wolfenstein TNO starts off rather cheaply. After smashing through the window there’s not much I can do being stuck with low ammo. That tank dude destroys me and it’s impossible to run from the corner. I looked it up on YouTube and apparently other people had this problem and had to restart the level and the trick is to avoid doing anything up to that point, then quickly grab the health/ammo after the cutscene before it saves. Otherwise you’ll be left without it again and have to restart the level.

This is another reason I’m getting tired of cutscene usage in games, when it screws with the flow of gameplay, and often messes with loadouts between levels. Lazy, cheap sections like this hurt this game to the point it’s often felt little different than CoD. Will be glad when it’s finished.

The boy got me Forza Horizon 5 for Xbox 1X and it is a hoot. I'm having fun calling up other racers and comparing. Just did some Dirt 3 on the PS3.

This is why I can never don any full playthroughs of the modern Wolfenstein games ever again.

I gave up on TNO after infiltrating the nazi base. The story got boring and the game play got super bland.

Still pushing through Genealogy of the Holy War. After climbing a twisty mountain pass to the first castle of Chapter 7, they give you a path straight back to the bottom to go directly to the next castle. It's a nice little gesture... that becomes almost insulting when you realize they could have done that at several earlier points, but didn't.

Hot take: Shouzou Kaga may have created something interesting and beautiful, but the people who came after him did much better work with the series than he ever did. None of Kaga's original works are in my top 5 games of the series.

A game I'd be far more into if it didn't constantly try to sidetrack me into playing The Sims: Post-Apocalypse.
That's the big reason I haven't installed it yet. It's kind of a shame because i like the idea of building a base(Which Pillars of Eternity apparently allows you to do) but from what I've heard it's not implemented well

The base you build in pillar of eternity is pretty shallow, you just buy some building for some medium bonus, see plenty of ubisoft game.

If you really want base building with some RPG/exploration aspect, I think 7 days to die is probably the best game for that (although that's mostly multiplayer)

FO4 is a decent game, nothing amazing but there's a large map with plenty of fun things to explore, I'd say just ignore the base building aspect (and the main quest) and you can have some fun.

I want to play this. It's Battle Nations a chess-like military strategy game, but it's currently in beta, and they are dealing with a legal issue right now...

Edit: It was a game based on a 2010 Z2 mobile, and PC game called Battle Nations.

There are supposed to be some good mods that improve the settlement/base building side of things... I didn't bother because fuck those settlers who expect me to save them from the evils of the wastelands and also put up some fences for them.

Currently having a lot of my time taken up by Rogue Legacy 2 in early access. Going the Hades route because Full Metal Furies was unjustly ignored.

Seriously, go play Full Metal Furies

Loop Hero: beat the first boss!
Sekiro (replay): beat a couple of mini-bosses around Ashina Castle and ran around unlocking a few shrines and collecting upgrade items. Each Sekiro session is me asking myself why I'm putting myself through this torture again interrupted by brief moments of victorious glee.

I finished the main campaign for Alan Wake Remastered. The two episode DLCs automatically unlock after completion, but I already done them before, and I don't feel like playing them now. Episode 6 pulls all the stops to freak you out or kill you. That said, most encounters becmoe predictable and nary, but a few surprises. At this point the game kinda drags a little, but you will know when you get to the end. The final boss is piss easy, and from what I remember, the final boss for the DLC is barely only harder. I noticed that this version based on the PC version, so encounters are more difficult compared to the 360 version. Fun game to revisit, but does get repetitive. Like I said before, I hope the sequel improves on movement, more weapon variety, and better enemy variety.
