Ok folks it looks like they're starting to trickle in, so here we go. We'll begin with "Eh"GN (I kid!?) -

It looks absolutely phenomenal. But for some reason, the original game just never clicked with me. It probably had something to do with how I was playing, but it never felt very satisfying.

EDIT: Also what does it matter lmao, I won't be getting my hands on a PS5 for years.

My prediction; the game's going to be pretty fucking awesome.

Still, I'll wait a couple of years before buying because fuck modern day launch prices.

Play it on ps4 then? It is cheaper on ps4 and you get a free upgrade when you do get a ps5. That is my plan.

Huh, I thought it was a new gen exclusive. But considering its supposed to be pretty buggy on PS5, I'm not optimistic about the PS4 version. I guess we'll see.

I saw a bug in the IGN video review where the due on top of the mammoth machine kinda froze in place when Aloy destroyed his seating arrangement. Guessing it’s little things like that that they’ll probably have a patch for by end of week.

Going to not read any reviews for this, unlike the first one. Want to go in completely untainted by these filthy human opinions this time, like sweaty seeds protruding through my amygdala wrestling my fading concept of an illusory free will away from me.

It was a fun game, but ultimatly just another open world action adventure game which were, for awhile, coming out almost every week. If this isn't a genre you particularly like then it wasn't going to be any different with this one.

You know, watching this at 720 on my phone there really isn’t that much of a difference. Certainly not enough to be bothered by without a side by side comparison. As long as performance holds up I might just get this for my lowly PS4 Slim (it’s the fancy looking gold one though at least), and then play the upgraded “complete” edition years later when PS5 isn’t MIA.

I'm more or less okay with open world games, it was more of the combat that didn't click with me. I always felt incredibly week and the bow more or less useless.

You may be pleased to know what the bow is apparently very useful now with a huge array of variants, and Digital Foundry made the comment that “It almost feels like an open world game designed for people that have grown weary of open world games.”

I myself hope they fine-tuned the underground bunker/ruins sections where you had to find power cells and activate different doors with them. That bs was easily the most frustrating part of the game for me because the layouts were just all blue/purple and disorienting. I’d take raiding bandit camps 10 to 1 over those as they were. Maybe the sequel will make them more interesting this time.

Wait so it's popular opinion that the bow is useless? Thought I wasn't doing it right.

I hated those too. Often times I'd find myself just falling into the abyss because I couldn't tell if it was a drop or just a really dark surface. And then it feels like you're expected to do it stealthily, when they don't give you any of the usual bushes to hide in.

The bow wasn't that great, the bomb did way more damage. I just did a run on the highest difficulty setting and was mostly using the trap wire thing, not as trap but if you shoot them right under an enemy they blow up right away and do a lot more damage than bow.

Idk if it was popular opinion or not (I personally found the Fire, Precision, and Tearblast arrows to be indisposable depending on the situation), but it sounds like it’s even better now.
