Help a Writer Out: Video Game Price Survey

I'm running a survey for an article I'm writing on video game price points. To summarize the thesis, I've found that video game buyers can often identify a fairly specific price they are willing to pay for any given title, and I'm looking to pin down how they identify that price and how this calculus affects developers and publishers.

The survey is very brief - it shouldn't take more than three or four minutes to finish - and mostly deals with how consumers decide if a game is worth its price. If you have the time, might you help me out? I'd really appreciate it.

Done did it. I think your survey is pretty solid, but, doesn't necessarily catch the aspect of paying more if the right people made it - ie, I like games by Yachtclub, therefore I would pay full price for a game by them despite the fact that I wouldn't pay full price for a game made by a different dev even if the game was very similar.

I just wanted to throw that out there since I think the aspect of "proven performance" is important to consider when dealing with purchase price discussions.

A nicely simple, effective survey. I also added this at the end -

New release or preorder purchases are personally on the rare side more than ever before. Another big factor is various sales on Steam, PS+, etc. Most games can be bought very cheaply eventually if one can wait for them.

The last question kinda touched on that I think, about rating how important a developer’s reputation was in your purchasing decisions.

Just so everyone is aware, this user is a Chinese bot, probably trying to gather information on you. So, you know, fill out the extra comments section with frequent mentions of the Tiananmen Square massacre and mentions of the strength and power of the independent nation of Taiwan.

That's fair, I had more interpreted it as "are you more likely to buy a game by a dev you know" rather than "would you pay more for a game by a dev you know" but I can see how that is fairly similar in practice.

Definitely not a bot. They filled out a coherent and appropriate response to the introduction thread. Definitely Chinese because they stated as much in their introduction post and on their profile. Also definitely gathering information, because that's the point of a survey.

Honestly, I'd considered reporting the post on a basis of advertising, but I figured what the heck, people can fill it out at their own risk if they want to.

Not to mention there’s no actual personal information being requested in the survey, other than perhaps tracking IP addresses. Which is already being done everywhere anyways.
