Eh, my stance with with Abbie was always that making your character visually appealing is important. I merely talked about balance. Bluegate was the one who started about realism by posting the model, so I responded to that. Need to clarify that I read fast, which is why I said "Who look" instead of "Who looks like shit." Thought he posted random bodybuilders rather than the model. But yeah, that model looks like shit. Won't deny that her dedication is commendable. Why anyone would want that kind of a design in a protagonist is beyond me.

Reminds me, those big human enemies are hilarious. The ones who will go on with bullet holes in their faces. That guy whose jaw you cut in half, was he on PCP? Just dumb.
I would argue that visually distinct is a better goal, and allowing appeal to fall where it may. Take Mass Effect 2. Each squad mate has a reasonably distinct look to them and as such they are found appealing to different people. Miranda and Jack are a pretty good example of this in both directions. Miranda is a classic slinky femme fatale with a bodysuit worthy of Selina Kyle. The way she moves and speaks is (mostly) graceful and refined. Jack is such a 2010s criminal badass it’s almost parody; the tattoos, the constant swearing, needling Shepard to go pirate or complaining about doing things in a less than totally violent and destructive manner. Yet last I remember the statistics, they both come out reasonably evenly in popularity for romance paths.

Certainly more than Jacob. Fuck that guy.

Visual distinction is important in a protagonist, but so is looking appealing. Look up "body modification" if you think being unique is more important. Choices matter. Abbie's choice to build herself up like a male bodybuilder (more in the arms than anywhere else) makes her unattractive to most people.

Been playing the new Warframe update.

Which has been endlessly entertaining just as much as seeing how many people just do not know how to play the game lol (they reworked some miniboss enemies to actually be vaguely challenging and now peoples worlds have apparently upended)

Finished missions Chapters 5, 6, and 7 in NGS2. I am noticing a pattern where every two missions after the first set of 4, you switch characters and play as one of Ryu's lady friends. Like I said before, they're annoying to play and you are forced to do them. Why couldn't they make them a separate scenario is beyond me. Chapter 7 is long, and it did not have a good starting area. The boss fight against Volt is pretty epic, and you get his weapon get to try it out on his minions after killing him. I am done for tonight.

Rune Factory 5. It's a good game. There's some framerate issues in places but otherwise it's a good Rune Factory game. I don't imagine this will pull anyone in that wasn't already interested in these types of game as there's not too much new here compared to previous entries. I'm very much enjoying myself.

Sonic Robo Blast 2. Could play better. Lacks polish. But it's more what I imagined a 3D Sonic game to be as a kid than what we've gotten from Sega.

Finished my replay of Dark Souls. I still think it's a good game, with a great world. It's just fun to play mostly, and it never gets so easy you can't screw up. Though I was playing with light armor and no health or stamina upgrades. The only problems I have with the game is that Capra Demon, Bed of Chaos, and Ornstein and Smough are plain bad boss fights. Most pyromancies are slow, with short range and long windups and generally kind of bad even with a fully upgraded flame. I have no idea what situation Firestorm would be good for, since I rarely have 5 seconds to waste on a spell that hits randomly around me in melee range, but I wasted 30k souls on it. Power Within was always useful, though. It's hard to say no to extra damage. Basically, Sorcerer is by far the better spellcasting class, but Pyromancer is definitely more balanced.

My biggest issue with the game this time was I would randomly have this input delay on attacks where my character would wait a second or two between me pressing the button and the attack animation starting. It happened fairly frequently and it would always screw me over because I was using a Great Scythe with a long windup, and by the time my character started attacking the window of opportunity was long closed and I would take damage and usually die. I don't know if it's because my 360 is messing up because it's old and the disk drive is failing or if the game is just bugging out. I don't remember this really happening before, but maybe it's a glitch with the Great Scythe?

When I first played DS, I started as a Pyromancer but later put on armor and used the longsword and the claymore for much of the game, because while Pyromancies are occasionally useful, hitting things with big sword is far more useful far more awesome. By the end I was rocking Haveldad with a BK halbred and doing pretty well for a majority of boss fights, which I realize is basically the "Easy" build but I walked away satisfied.

It even gets the melodic music more right than Adventure's rock.

Unfortunately, he goes too fast to get to the best part of the music.

I stopped at Chapter 10 on Sigma 2, and decided to try NG3: Razor's Edge for a little. I know it's a shorter game, which is fine. The gore is back in full swing, and love the steel-on-bone used to counter grabs. Weapons are just given to you now at certain points, because there are no longer any shops lying around locations, and you now have an upgrade menu you can pull up. All for the sake of "IMMERZIAN!" An early problem have with this game is that certain default attacks that were already there from the start in previous game, have to be bought. Why do I have to relearn guillotine throw and flying swallow again?

Another problem I noticed is that Ryu seems a little slower and not as responsive as the previous games. I know this was a complaint from some NG player. I am hoping it's my imagination acting up. This is the game that tries to have a story, and not just a remake of classic NG's story of villain gets important thing from Ryu's village, villain wreck's Ryu's village, etc. I know the original version of 3 suffers from bad, up its own ass writing, and RE tried fixing it. Emphasis on try. 3/RE by far has the most cut-scenes out of the entire series. Which explains why the game is a lot shorter. They really believed in this, screwed up, and attempted to salvage everything the best they could. I get trying to bring in a more casual audience and trying to put some emphasis on story like the NES games (the stories themselves are too simple by today's standards) for better connection, but pleasing everyone did no good. At least Team Ninja had no problem acknowledging their mistakes and had a lesson in humility,

I'm not super up to date on the current balance but at release pyromancy was ridiculously OP, pretty much was the game easy mode, even had a spell to would make you better protected than Havel suit. But it went trough a bunch of round of nerf.

I will say that claymore is notorious for being pretty powerful, I had more than my share of playtrough that started one way but ended up with claymore, range, speed and damage, the claymore got it all.

Ironskin. Its actually still in Elden Ring but its in a fairly obscure consumable. And its mostly a poise buff now, now a resitance one. Generally useful for baiting PvP dudes who think they're gonna stagger you out of a big move and then they just bounce (while damaging you) and get one tapped.

Does the delay happen when at an idle state or during active combat? IIRC there are a few moves that might not have animation cancels but I haven’t played in so long to know for sure.

During combat. Apparently it's a known bug.
Damn I never realized there were so many unresolved issues with this game lol. Fortunately I don’t recall any of them enough from when I’d completed it for PS3, or the smaller amount of time I’ve spent with the PC version. Can only guess they got carried over in the Remaster too.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Finally finished Elden Ring, well mostly finished. I summoned someone for Melinia and feel very dirty about that so I would only say mostly finished.

Been messing around more in Deep Rock since it had the new season come out. Might go back and finally beat Xcom 2. Kinda tempting to also play Sekiro again, Elden Ring put me in the mood.

But did you know that Melania is the blade of Miquella and she has never known defeat?

Not many people know that, but now you do.

Thank you for that very helpful information, that could have saved me like 6 hours of my life. Mainly cause shes got that bullshit waterfowl move that if it fires while you are next to her then you are fucked and she has an annoying as hell habit of not using it when her life gets a bit low so you are running around trying to get her to fire it while you are just far enough away to run so you can dodge the second and third strikes.

So I recently sold my consoles(Xbox Series X, Switch, and PS5), and despite my emotional rants, it wasn't because it was too woke, or I couldn't mod sexy clothing to the characters. It was the fact that anytime I looked at the consoles it looked like more of a chore than fun. Great I have to throw an ax at a wheel again in God of War or beat up weird 3d modern art in Nier Automatic, or get a heart attack in RE2 Remake or not have any new missions in Ace Combat 7.

Instead, I went hunting the internet for a game that was an RPGmaker game and was a role-playing game with a decent open world.

This is the game, and it will be coming out on Steam on May 6.

The problem with the game is that it was timed limited(Every day the enemy faction was closer to winning ao don't sleep), I couldn't find a decent translation of the game's latest version, and the translation using a complicated tool was bad, like mistakes and misspellings everywhere. Don't do what I did; wait for the Steam version, then uncensor it with a patch if you wish. Also, the game had no handholding, I had a hard time playing even with a walkthrough, and the walkthrough was basically bare-bones.

The good thing about the game are that the character is hot, the combat is varied and complex, and the story while's okay isn't bad. (A rare thing for this type of game). Another good reason to play this game is that it's got a ton of different outfits, modules for combat to add skills, and deep customization. The bosses all have their different endings for losing, being captured is good unless you are fighting that bar level. It's about the closest thing to my dream game that there is. Oh, and it's quick if you follow the walkthrough, and know what you're doing. I got stuck on Chapter 4, and the time limit ran out.

9.5/10.
