Why is that unusual? Prestige television - which whatever you think about Secret Invasion, that’s what it is - is expensive. And I’m sure Samuel L. Jackson isn’t doing this gratis.
Crazy how they're both DC movies that involve the financial disaster of a cinematic universe. The only difference being Green Lantern could not even start it, and The Flash ended it horribly.
Maybe James Gunn was right in essentially resetting DC film-verse (or whatever it will be called in the future), losing Henry Cavill (and both Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck?) does suck, but if it means bringing better characters, so be it.Crazy how they're both DC movies that involve the financial disaster of a cinematic universe. The only reason he is even resetting, is because of WBD screw ups in the first place. Plus they gave him the order to reset. What's funny is that they already fixed their mistakes, it only made things worse by screwing them up again to an even worse a degree. Dropping and firing anybody with a different racial or gender background in a high position. They screwed themselves over by firing all their talent. Now that talent has gone to work for either Disney, Amazon, etc. I said it before and I said it again, but I don't have much interest in the James Gunn universe. I know he'll do great, but there's too much of a sour taste of Warner Bros backstabbing and constantly shooting themselves in the foot over nothing, but petty politics.Maybe James Gunn was right in essentially resetting DC film-verse (or whatever it will be called in the future), losing Henry Cavill (and both Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck?) does suck, but if it means bringing better characters, so be it.
Or what? The big baby conservatives on YouTube and fox are going to cry? Fuck them. I don't care what agenda it's trying to push, there are people dead set against that film for having somebody be non-white in the leading role. They're going to cry like bitches regardless. Nothing against Blue Beetle, but I almost honestly don't care. I might see it, but I'm not making any promises. I just want Aquaman 2 so I can finish this loose end. That being said, Blue Beetle looks okay, as long as it doesn’t push any liberal agendas
I agree it doesn't get much coverage, but it's a constant ongoing issue in society worldwide in which multiple authorites are doing good work to try and combat. It's not being covered up by the news, it's the religious organisations, cults, modeling agencies, anything related to fame, class based societies ignoring their under/lower class members etc etc trying to cover such stuff up. It's just that kinda work isn't cinematic tense action rescue scenes, it's about focusing on the survivors being able to recover and live their own free lives of their own free will. The bad guys aren't taken down in shootouts, they're processed through extremely lengthy court cases in flawed justice systems. And this is always ongoing, like an eternal stream of suffering found in so many areas of impoverished humanity if we look close enough. That last part about Wolf of Wall St can ironically be applied to all the sex traffickers too. Any number of movies made about it don’t really mean shit if nothing’s done to those responsible. Regardless of messaging, the fact the topic is continuously marginalized by the elite media conglomerates kinda speaks for itself.
Anyways -
Wonka’s origin story is a good focus. Should be good.
A flash in the pan that made Warner feel green?
Well, technically Lost Kingdom is ending it...sort of...maybe...fuck, I don't even know, and I doubt Warner/DC even knows. 0_0Crazy how they're both DC movies that involve the financial disaster of a cinematic universe. DCU (DC Cinematic Universe)Maybe James Gunn was right in essentially resetting DC film-verse (or whatever it will be called in the future),
Okay, I'll bite. What's an example of a "liberal agenda" in the DCEU (or heck, DC films in general)? Because I can certainly point to certain films (Joker puts a spotlight on inequality, The Suicide Squad is a bare-bones commentary on US interventionism in Latin America), but that's barebones material. That being said, Blue Beetle looks okay, as long as it doesn’t push any liberal agendas
Even accepting that as true, how's that talent doing at Disney these days? Because Disney sure as hell isn't doing well right now.Now that talent has gone to work for either Disney, Amazon, etc.
Still doing better than DC by comparison. They'll bounce back when their bottom line gets really hurt. They have no choice otherwise.Even accepting that as true, how's that talent doing at Disney these days? Because Disney sure as hell isn't doing well right now.
I actually agree DC films didn't have too much liberal agendas before, but that doesn't mean they are free of them;Okay, I'll bite. Iron Man 1 criticized the (American) arms industry, and Captain America 2 the Patriot Act. It did so badly, absolving America of any real blame, but not exactly a neutral stance or one conservatives are known to criticize. Unless ofcourse we define the "liberal agenda" as 'look, black people and women are indeed a thing'.MCU used to be pretty clean of this kind of stuff, but starting around Black Panther 1 or Captain Marvel they started to throw in some weird liberal commentaries. I'm starting to see DC slowly adapting this.
People might not say it in those words, but that definition doesn't seem to be too out of place, of course.Unless ofcourse we define the "liberal agenda" as 'look, black people and women are indeed a thing'.
The same people who are completely mum every other time it's by default a man directing.I remember when people were accusing WB of sexism because they specifically wanted a female director for the first Wonder Woman movie.

Seriously, the only agenda the MCU pushes is 'There are some serious issues in the world, but let's just do absolutely nothing about it; status quo for the win!'
He is not wrong, as there are people stupid and petty enough to respond that way.People might not say it in those words, but that definition doesn't seem to be too out of place, of course.
This counts for superheroes in general, not just Marvel. The only other time I've seen a superhero try to buck the status quo and try to change the system was in Invincible, and there it was still framed as only being possible through immoral acts, deeming it not worth it in the end. It's annoying. They want to address real world issues, but hardly ever dare to put their foot down.

Superheroes can't. The fact that they are fiction is a true hindrance. I mean, they are fictional characters in a world that we are supposed to recognise, be familiar with, relate to. And they need their popular baddies. If they were to transform the world, they would cease to inhabit "ours", they won't be next door superman on earth or friendly neighbourhood spider-man. They'd be superman on krypton, remote utopia spider-man. If they caught Dr Claw, killed the Joker, ate Gargamel, the story would end and require a reboot. This counts for superheroes in general, not just Marvel. In Wakanda Forever's defense
