Fuck it, I'm gonna watch Legend of Galactic Heroes. See what the hubbub is about.
There's an original and a remake. I tried the remake and was thouroughly unimpressed by the first season, I don't think it's a bad adptation (at least I haven't heard anyone say that) but I also haven't heard anyone really praise it, so you might be better of with the original.

Oh yeah, I'm going OG. Gimme them 80s anime long faces.

Hm.

So, I was like hey I haven't watched the dawn, they did an ova for the dawn, that's cool, more hellsing ultimate for me, let's watch the dawn.

And no they didn't. It's two and a half episodes. And then they got... bored? Defunded? Dunno. What happened? What is this? What for?

Not a great use of my time.

Watched the first couple of episodes of My Adventures with Superman. Its fucking adorable. I'm all here for this one. Young intern Lois, Jimmy and Clark getting into Scooby Doo level shenanigans while Clark slowly comes to terms with the Superman/Clark balance. Also Lois is the clear highlight of the show, and for once she's the one falling in love with Clark first, and just having a little crush on Superman. Its actually very adorable. Reminds me of the Spiderverse movies in that they nailed the chemistry between the two leads perfectly.

8/10, go watch it.

I watched some more of that Superman cartoon and it's actually a cute little show. I think the character design for the three main leads (Is Jimmy a lead? Sorta, right?) is quite good. Despite the obvious anime influence, which in western cartoons can have a wonky result, the character designs look very solid. Clark looks like a big loveable doofus, Lois has a near perfect pixie tomboy style, and Jimmy... I don't know, I just love the coloring on him. I also very much appreciate the end credits sequence.

I like Lois and Clark puppy dog-eyeing eachother, BUT there'd better be some actual progress in the near future - don't have this be a thing where they only get together at the end of the series.

While the animation isn't blowing my skirt up, it does have a proper (for lack of a better word) frame timing to it. You compare it to something like She-Ra, which has a similar style in terms of character proportions and faces, and you can tell which show has decent inbetweens and which one doesn't.

Gotta say it's absolutely bizarre how Mushoku Tensei expects me to feel bad for a character who seemingly has PTSD, and copes with it by grasping the panties he stole from his underage magic instructor. What's even more bizarre is that I still want to watch this show.

Zom 100 is such wacky fun, the kind you would only ever find in anime. Excited to keep watching.

JJK Season 2 brought me to the conclusion that without the animation and excellent voice acting, this IP would never have gotten anywhere. Which sounds obvious yes, but it's sometimes hard to believe how aimless and uneven the writing is. But I'll keep coming back for as long as these characters stay extremely likeable.

Finished Season 2 of The Bad Batch. Second half was stronger than the first one, but I'm still not crazy on the show. Mostly because the heroes are both too reactive and not proactive, and when they do do something, they fail more often than not.

High production value can forgive a lot. I drew the line at the main character groping a girl in her sleep though.

That's almost all shonen anime (bar one piece) tbh. Look at the fate franchise and demon slayer for even more extreme example.

Yeah, no thanks. I want none of that. Plus, it's yet another iesakai with some guy surrounded by cute girls. Enough of that already.

Everything about that anime feels so generic. I know the action scenes are awesome and all, but I have zero interest in this anime. I looked at a few clips and I couldn't get invested.

Which is exactly why I'm glad I never fell into that trap for long. I'm in all variety person when it comes to my content. I'm not going to like every single genre, but I will give a chance when something unique is done enough with it or they're not stretching things out.

Fate is not really like that, and had considerably different origins as a pornographic visual novel. (Do not read this version of the VN.) Like, you might be forgiven for thinking that if your only exposure to it was Studio Deen's not particularly good adaptation of Fate, which was the softest and most conventional route anyway, but the nastiness is considerably cranked up in Unlimited Blade Works and particularly Heavens Feel. The prequel Fate/Zero is also I think very much a core part of the original continuity, and it is a very adult story, in the specific sense that it's about adults making mistakes and fucking things up for very adult reasons. Fate's also experimented with being a variety of other things, from the delicate slice of life of Today's Menu for the Emiya Family to the thinly veiled paedophilia of Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya.

Honestly, despite the anime's popularity I'd have to end up calling them bad adaptations of the VNs. Even the good animes.

I found crossover fan fics of Fate more appealing than any of the official material. There's one with Sonic, called Fate Genesis (ha!) I find better than whatever they put out.

I watched an episode of Himouto! Umaru-chan for the sole reason that it's meiam's avatar. Uhh, it was kind of awful. @meiam I don't mean to be rude, but do you actually like that show? Or do you just use it because it's a cool avatar?

Ehhhhhh not really, I don't care for the central gimmick of Umaru being a slob at home while perfect girl at school and I also don't care much for the brother aspect either, but I just like gremlin mode Umaru with her stupid big grin who just play games all day. If I'd grade it I'd say it would be a 6/10, I couldn't even finish the second season since they cut short the gremlin scene too. I do really like the OP though.

If you're hankering for something to watch, I'm re watching bocchi the rock and odd taxi at the moment, both of which I actually genuinely like.

Just watched the 1 hour Atom Eve episode.

I enjoyed it overall, but if you put them beside most episodes of Season 1, you'd find it lacking. It was dark, action scenes were fucking great, but the pacing was like an exponential function. Ridiculously slow start made to feel even slower by the hyperspeed finale where characters don't have arcs as much as character railguns.

Still, it's got me excited for season 2, which is pretty much the whole reason it exists. I've forgotten how fun the Invincible world is, and I'm glad I held off on reading the comics for now.

Looks like they expanded on her backstory quite a bit, I can't remember any of that with her mom and her siblings being in the comic. Also, this one episode shows Eve doing more superhero action than she does in probably the entire comic. The comic in general isn't too creative when it comes to superhero fights, mostly opting for throwing punches, and Eve is kind of a victim of that. Eventhough she has the power to rearrange atoms, 99% of her time in fights she just uses it to fly and to make force fields.

Kinda curious now how they're going to make a seemingly much more pro-active Eve navigate the plot, unless ofcourse they choose to get a bit more loose with it.

I assumed this backstory was the excuse they were giving for why this god on earth uses her powers in the most boring ways. If she goes too far, uses her powers to their fullest potential, the government will be able to track her back down. But not quite what happened.

Hmmm...so users can make you watch terrible things by selecting avatars from them?

You must have hated it when the forum had the red button that changed everyone into Justin Bieber.
